Hehehe... so many messages here. Those having doubts, Believe it or not, car is back to normal ( abi na una prayer for me to go buy new transmission for this period lolz). A TOTAL FLUSH was carried out on my transmission by experts here, and the WS was used. As regards the type of ATF, I didn't see any WS when I wanted to do the oil change, and those saying he's forming ITK, for your info, I called one of the best auto guy here on nairaland and he approved. I called GAUZZUZZ and he said I can use the type IV ( A decision I regret as it almost cost me my sweet transmission. Funny thing is that he was even the first offering to sell a 10pin for me). I didn't argue too much because my car production date is 06. And I've been using 06 manual all these while. It was after this incidence that a lot was explained to me. I've been using the car for a week now and still drives and select fine as it was b4 I almost destroyed it myself. So my advice here, don't always takes advice from people as when the worse happens, you'll be the one paying the bills. And if you erroneously use what you're not suppose to use, chill don't panic, take your time before making decisions that will cost you fortune. Explore other options before making decision. If I'd panic too much, I would have splash out a whopping 80k for 10pin or even over 200K for 13pin. Before I leave, I will love to thank a fellow nairalander, a gentleman from PH too, he called me and advice I take my time, don't rush... and that advice really helped... Thanks I really appreciate sir. Not forgetting my oga kashif, may God continue to lift you higher and more wisdom to help those that needs help with their transmission, you said something when I called, you don't remember but that helps as well.

It's not about the ATF because on the manual, I also have toyota type IV there

Please my fellow nairalanders especially the auto giants, I need your advice. My transmission 13 pin for toyota camry. 2007 model doesn't engage anymore. It reverses but doesnt drive or most times drives sluggishly. I carried out a scan on it and it displayed the following codes P0746, P0796, P0012. I was just worked on the engine as it was smoking but the transmission issue started after I changed the atf to toyota type IV few days back. The gear experts here I took it to say it can be worked on but some said I should save up and buy another gear. Honestly I'm just confused and need guidance on what to do, even if it's just a temporary fix for 6 months to year. Buying another 13pin now is not easy for me with respect to current economic situation. Please advice a brother

Nothing is wrong with hybrid, it's just a complicated engineering setup, that can only be worked on/fixed by an hybrid expert.

Nigerians aren't running away from it, I have seen hybrid really common on our roads civic, prius, ford escape, camry, accord, highlander just to mention a few.

Since dollar has increased prices of hot cake cars have gone up including Nigerian used, the most outrageous is golf 3 used selling for 400 to 500k. Also remember a lot of things determine car price in Nigeria.

Alright, I get your point. @OP if the body is clean,buy it. Getting a 2007 camry will cost you nothing less than 1.1m. 750K for a car without an engine is not a bad deal if the car is clean

just make sure its not a 4 plug hybrid engine to avoid stories that touch. A Nigerian used clean one goes for around 1.5m depending on year, trim and gizmo so do your due deligence, price engine, remove the money, check transmission, make sure its top notch. If you "Nogere pereh" we will be awaiting your help needed thread. Peace

What is wrong with hybrid? Why are Nigerians running from it, well that's a discussion for another day. Nigerian use for 2007 is less than 1.5 unless you're talking about 2009/2010

But my worry is, for the dealer to sell 750k, then obviously the owner is selling 650 or 700K. Is the car really clean and not accident ed car, why didn't the owner replace the engine and make more profit. There is something they're not telling you
