I have had the overheating issue resolved. Gasket wasn't even the problem. After changing the gasket, the overheating still persist until he removed the AC condenser in front of the radiator. According to him, the condenser is damaged n is supposed to be see through which is currently not. The technician explained that d fan was suppose to suck d hot air inside the engine out(as explained by someone here earlier) but as d condenser is blocked, suction became difficult. I don't know how true it was but all I can say it, the issue has been resolved and no more overheating. I hope this little explanation will help someone here.

The engine overheating issue has been resolved. It was from the gasket. It was changed now I can drive and also put on the AC.
Honda is really a sweet car to ride, I'm enjoying like shawama... Thanks all for your contributions

Also someone said, I shouldn't be using water for the radiator but should use coolant only. How true is that and type of coolant should I use...

The problem is the 'new' engine that is in the vehicle. Strong possibility that it's a refurbished or worn out engine.
Save up & replace engine with a very decent engine.

Which car are you referring to?

You sounded as though you already gave us some background information about the car. Was it bought as Tokunbo or Nigerian used?

What is the model and year of manufacture?

Generally, when your car temperature gauge rises beyond normal limits whenever you put on your a/c, possibilities may include:

1) Engine wear: When engine efficiency/ output is so low that it can no longer bear the extra burden of operating your a/c compressor.

2) Absent, poorly functioning OR poorly connected A/C condenser fan: This fan is usually attached to either the a/c condenser or its function synchronized with double radiator fans, controlled by a thermostat, which blow more frequently when your a/c is on.

The fan's function is to draw in extra fresh air from the surroundings to dissipate heat from your condenser and evaporator better, thus cooling your engine constantly. Heat output normally increases when you put on tha a/c.. but if the fan is working fine, engine temperature does not rise beyond normal.

If the fan is bad, or your car has only one fan attached to its radiator, it may be the source of overheating.

The fan may be present, but if the wires are wrongly connected, the fan will be blowing hot air outwards instead of drawing in cool air from outside to cool your engine. This can lead to overheating, and is particularly more likely if the a/c has been worked upon before.

3) Check the car's compressor to be sure it has not been replaced by another, whose power rating exceeds the original specification for the car. There is usually a label somewhere in your car hood, giving you this information.

Thanks for your response. It's a V6 Engine. Honda accord 2005 (EOD).It's a Nigerian used, I bought it from my boss wife and according to her, she recently change the engine of the vehicle. The radiator fan blow air inside the engine but I don't knw of the compressor fan.

Since I bought this car, I've only enjoyed it once. That's the day I bought it. Whenever I put on the AC on the car, it starts overheating, a friend said it's a new engine and since it's still bringing out steam from the engine, the engine still needs time to warm well hence d overheating, another said it's thermostat on d engine,and it should b removed. Honestly I'm tired because, the overheating is really annoying as it turns off my engine... radiator has been washed, gasket works fine as well.
