There's a reason ETH was firm about his terms of the contract for which Manchester United board reluctantly gave in. At this point, if he fails, it's solely on him...

For once, the board has brought in a manager who insisted that things must be done his way...Some folks here are still trying to rope the board in just so they can blame them when things go south.

ETH never sounded like one that appreciates the role RR was designated to take up. The pressers are there for anyone to make reference to so, I don't get why the board is still being roped into all of these...

Osinbajo is one of the select few of the round pegs in round holes. Man is kinda capable.. We saw this first hand when he acted for Buhari for 51 days in 2017. He was a gentle breeze that brought 21st century style of leadership to bear on the people.

What he accomplished as Acting President would take another moribund Nigerian President four years to achieve. And he did those things with a flourish. I know his detractors would pitch him with his boss who's more laid-back, reactive, clueless and bereft of ideas but they're two totally different personalities. In all democracies, the VP lacks power. They only come alive when they take over leadership. A VP that's too visible would likely be sacked or made redundant. Just like what OBJ did to Atiku..

Nigeria would be extremely lucky to have him as the Commander in chief who'd not hesitate to hire and fire dead woods..

I am not blaming ETH for his departure. Even if ETH wants him gone it might be within his right based on what was discussed during job negotiations. I stated sometime ago that the consultancy role was too vague and might cause problems. If the club really wanted Rangnick he should have been promised DoF instead of Fletcher that has no experience at all. What are the powers of a consultant? Are they as well defined as that of a manager or that of a DoF. I am sure Rangnick saw the writing on the wall, which is why he took the Austrian job.

What i don't understand is how you are assessing him as a consultant or DoF (or whatever) based on his coaching record. How many DoFs have been assessed based on how they coached? He was never a great coach (though he was a decent one) but he was a very good DoF.

Then your friend was peddling the falsehood that a man who as DoF took RB Leipzig from 4th Division to Champions League semi-finalists in 8 years (the same time span we went from perennial league winners to perennial Top 4 hopefuls) was not successful as a DoF. There is almost no Top 5 list of DoFs from the past decade that does not have Rangnick in Top 5.

We should actually just move on and give ETH the maximum support possible. Rangnick's chapter in the club is closed.

3) Nobody has also explained how a man that has almost always been on the list of Top 5 directors of football is now being judged with performances as an interim manager.
In fact i will do giveaway if any Bible believing brother can mention another rated director of football who has been judged by his coaching record.

Someone should pull up the coaching record of Marotta, Monchi, Zorc, Beguiristain, e.t.c. Let us check something.

2. If ETH is a good manager as he seems he should recognise when the Murtough and co are not making the right decision and consider resignation.

Don’t ruin this discussion with baseless accusations.

We’re talking about creating a much needed structure at United where any coach that fits minimum requirements will thrive. You’re talking about something else.

ETH will get his chance- that’s a given. But if the squad starts misbehaving. If performance drops and they can’t be arsed to put in the effort, know that the coach is not to be blame 100%.

When a club has a structure that protects underperforming players, that’s what often happens.

He noticed the way ETH kept evading him as per face to face meeting. He knows his ideas will not be taken serious he jejely zoomed off to Austria. No sane person will watch Man United in the last few months and will be interested in listening to a man who managed the team. Can you imagine Pep or Klopp or Tuchel taking inputs from Rauf.

1. Ten Haag worked in a structured environment at Ajax. He doesn’t have that at United.

2. Ajax has sufficient footballing people at top executive positions. At United, we have Fletcher, Murtough, and Nitrogen’s friends. They’re more interested in buying a player because he has lots of Instagram followers, not because he’s technically good and has drive and the tight mentality.

Erik Ten Hag hasn’t really worked in a gbasgbos environment like United. It’s a coin toss if he’ll do fine. And with less footballing people around to support him, his odds reduces. If an animal flourishes when they’re underwater, it doesn’t mean they’ll flourish on land.
