Our next-door neighbors recently took to the street to protest Paul Biya's reelection in Cameroun. As at the last time I followed their news at least 48 people were killed as a result of that protest, several protesters were arrested, and Paul Biya is still the president as of this afternoon. Something similar would've happened if Obi had incited his supporters to protest under the guise of "defending their votes" and the world will not end.

Something tells me you've not really lost any acquaintance, relative or friend to avoidable death caused by challenging the institutions of the state. That is why you are talking about "tapping into the raw anger and passion of his followers". The corpers and normal people that died in the violence that followed the 2011 elections back then, some of their families are still in pain till date.

I really want to hear your suggestions on what he should've done that doesn't have a chance of leading to violence.

Soldiers are still the ones that politicians call to fight their dirty battles so what gives. I do not think you should aggressively cape for either side.

What is happening in Nigeria is a Democracy on paper but not necessarily. Any system that is not reliably free and fair where police and armed forces can be used to circumvent the will of the people can best be likened to a patient getting palliative in hospice care to make their final years bearable

We all know the current CDS and CNS who are juniors to the ex-CNS (whom the officer was following his order) would not side with Wike. The fact that the CDS didn't even order the officer to vacate the premises during the phone call says a lot.

Wike has disgraced himself and that is that. He will forever live with that fact and the officer will grow in his military career if not for anything, the restraint and discipline he showed in that video will propel his career. So many senior men would want him to serve in their unit, he's a potential great leader.

We know how they claimed looking for WMD in Iraq back in 2003 and how that eventually turned out, or military intervention in Libya in 2011 and how it lead to destabilization in the sahel. It is only an insane person that will welcome an intervention from people who are known to worsen an already bad situation.
What we need and must do is to dust off the white paper reports on our shelves and implement the recommendations therein, we as a people must put pressure on our elected officials. We don't have to invite anybody since we already have the solutions
