The rise of a shining light

Ozeeil (born Ohioze Francis Okaka) is an Edo State born Afrofusion artist on a mission of spiritual awakening. Raised in a devout Christian home, he grew up surrounded by music through his father a pastor, singer, and pianist which shaped his early conviction that music was both his passion and his calling. He studied Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Benson Idahosa University (BIU), but his path has always pointed toward ministry through sound.

Describing his style as Afrofusion, Ozeeil brands his sound as “Starlight Music”a movement aimed at awakening the “sleeping soldiers” of his generation to manifest God’s glory. His creative process is deeply spiritual: melodies come through inspiration, and through prayer he aligns his lyrics with what he believes God wants to communicate to the world.

Roycel Cooks aka Rawcel is an artist, songwriter, producer, mentor, actor, and President of the ZupaLove International 501c3. He is founder of the Los Angeles-based international duo, ZupaNova. He was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. Roycel has collaborated with global sensations like the Black Eyed Peas as an artist, writer and producer, and even introduced his former classmate Fergie to the group. She went on to become a member of the Black Eyed Peas.

Roycel has worked with Ray J, Randy Jackson, David Foster, Macy Gray, Lala Hathaway, Bell Biv Devoe, Aaron Neville, Tamia, Sevyn Streeter, Pau Gasol, Tiana Xiao and many other influential members of the entertainment industry.

The second half of the duo,Davy Brown, a native of Southern, California and a true musical polymath-is an accomplished multi-genre producer, recording artist, multi-instrumentalist, and audio engineer with expertise spanning all aspects of music production and beyond. With ZupaNova, Davy found the ultimate outlet for his creativity. The group’s unique combination of hip-hop, EDM, and pop, infused with cultural influences from Los Angeles’ diverse music scene, has allowed him to fully explore the boundaries of genre. His ability to blend different styles into a cohesive and innovative sound has become one of the hallmarks of ZupaNova’s music, setting the duo apart in the music industry.

ZupaNova has toured annually in the US, Singapore, Philippines, and Hong Kong. The duo has had single releases to hit the Top 40 list on Mediabase. ZupaNova’s “Pop Pop” hit #41 and ZupaNova’s “ Hot” hit #38 on the US pop charts in 2020-2021. In 2024, Roycel and ZupaNova were awarded the NAACP award for their community service and local nonprofit support. This plan places Lagos, Nigeria, the homeland of Phazehop, as a centerpiece for sharing the song and groundbreaking meta verse of ZupaWorld at gaming centers, on billboards and on radio stations in Lagos.
