Having dark knees and knuckles can be a huge source of insecurity, especially if other areas of the skin are significantly lighter

Having dark knuckles or knees can be a really difficult thing to deal with for black women. There are a variety of reasons for getting these. It could be that you have them naturally or they could have been induced either by bleaching, excessive tanning, exposure to extreme/hazardous washing agents etc. Here are some tips that can help you get rid of dark knuckles/knees.

1. Use baking soda

Make a paste of 3 parts baking soda and one part water. Mix until smooth and apply the paste to the affected region. You should do this twice daily.

2. Scrub and then apply lemon juice

Scrub the affected area with a pumice stone or soft brush. This will help remove the dry and dead skin. Apply some lemon juice to the area. Leave it on for 20 minutes and then wash it off.

3. Activated charcoal and honey

Mix some honey and activated charcoal. Apply this mixture to the affected area and let it sit for 20 minutes. Wipe off the mixture and then rinse it off in the shower.
