Me - I have a loan from Mpower which covers my cost of attendance, it is $25,000 and I also have $7,000 to cover my interest payment while in school

Me - yes they will (I wanted to explain how they contributed towards the interest payments but she cut in again)

Update: My visa got approved on the 5th of June.

Any idea on the timeframe for this administrative processing.
It’s now the new thread, they either deny or place on administrative processing.
I had my interview on May 2, did not witness any straight approval, and I was also placed on the administrative processing along with some other people, the VO collected my I-20 and returned back my passport and said I don’t need to do anything that further information would be communicated on my case.
My question is who has pass through this new administrative processing thread and ideally how long does it take ? Should I be expecting weeks or months ?

I think this administrative processing is only happening at the US consulate in lagos, I don't think I have seen those who were put on AP recently at the Embassy in Abuja.

No one knows what the time frame is, my Ghanaian friends got an update on their AP within 14 business days but that's not the case here, only one guy on this thread got approved in 15 business days.

Hello. Any update on your Administrative Processing? I was placed on administrative processing on Tuesday and the VO didn't ask me to submit any document. My passport, a photo and Ds-2019 were all retained.

My visa has been approved. It was approved on April 29, 2025 - the same date I was to resume studies in the USA.

Can I still travel to the USA with the old I-20 form?

Can I sign my I20 before my interview and where Parent/guardian is indicated, can I fill in my sponsor name in that spot .

Hello, if you are over the age of 18, your parent/guardian don't need to fill that section and you don't need to write your sponsor's name there and yes you can sign the form before your interview.

I had this same exact issue on the 27th of March.

My case was a fully funded PhD offer with no deficits.

I have been trying to understand what exactly is the issue.

Also I mentioned something along the line of “coming back to Nigeria” to start a consulting firm. I rushed through the delivery while speaking, the VO asked that I calm down and specifically asked if I would be seeking employment in the private or public sector, of which I stated Private sector.


I was already smiling internally when I saw the VO reaching for a white paper, alas it was an “administrative processing” paper. My passport and I-20 were “detained”

Steps
1. Fill out a new DS-160 form on the official website
2. Submit the new DS-160 form and note the new confirmation number.
3. Update your appointment profile
4. Log in to your visa scheduling portal (e.g., U.S. Travel Docs)
5. Edit your appointment details to include the new DS-160 confirmation number.
6. Print the new DS-160 confirmation page and bring it to your interview.

You can't update your profile on the avits portal.

Can I still go ahead to make the payment of #50,000 (the payment procedure was included in the mail they sent) or can I only do that after I have uploaded the waec pin.
