"Alright, will do that right away, but try and squeeze in a night session with Izzy this week though" "Will give it a thought and see what I can do, keep him on standby" she nodded affirmative. Jamie was the CEO at Sneaker's Recording Studios And also the producer with the baddest mix and beats around the Port Harcourt metropolis. If you needed a hit track, SRS is where you needed to be. The Laide incident was slowing down business but he didn't care, she was far more valuable than anything he owned. Its been six months and three weeks since her accident, yet she hadn't opened her eyes once. She's been feeding intravenously, day and night, he feeds her pap prepared by the hospital's kitchen. Sometimes the thought of pulling the plug and actually letting her go crosses his mind but he would always shoot it on sight. He has been praying every morning and night faithfully and diligently, calling for a change of condition on Laide's case. His faith has grown over the months, and he somehow has grown fond of God. Some of the books he's been reading like 'unlimited faith' by David Oyedepo and other books have helped in building his faith. He learnt that true faith was absolute dependency on God, he also got the notion that God wasn't some distant deity but a caring father ever eager to help. He began to search for a word based church he could be attending, for in his search for faith he found God and he got to experience the love of God for man kind. He used to be amongst the people that said if God was loving, there won't be so much chaos in the world. But in his search he understood that though God is supreme and sovereign, he has given the earth to man, and if man chooses to destroy the earth he (God) won't be able to stop man because if he does he would be interfering with the will of man. **** "Ogah James, ogah James, I hail Sir" the same security man that had ruffled him out of the waiting area on the first day greeted him. "Papey the man" Jamie responded "I remain loyal sir" "Papey dey form humble o, when every body for hia know say na you be oga" Papey laughed and asked "How body today na, and how madam?" "Toh, we thank God o" "No worry, she go soon wake" "Amen o! make I climb up go dey her side small" "I dey hia kampe, in case you wan come take fresh air and talk tory small" "No wahala, later na" Jamie had packed his car at home and taken a cab to the hospital, it was as he made his way through the gate that he was accosted by Papey. Papey was a lanky middle aged man who had his way with people, he was the first security employed by the hospital when it was established sixteen years earlier. He happened to be the chief security officer, yet he wouldn't stay in the office and boss the others around, he'll rather be at the gate and interact with people as they made their way to see their sick loved ones. The door sensors sensed Jamie approaching and flung themselves open before he got to them. He made it into the waiting area and there were too many people in it. "Why they so many today?" he inquired from nurse Philo who was headed the same floor he was. "There was an accident involving six cars on the expressway" "Jezz!!" he exclaimed. "Ghastly or fatal?" "Ghastly and fatal, over 70 casualties" "Holy molly, 70 is a crowd" "Indeed, you can now understand the agitation of the people in the waiting area" "Yeah, quite sad" "See you later, Mr James" She said as she turned into room before Laide's room. "Alright ma'am" He turned into Laide's room but her bed was empty.... Instantly his world crumbled. To be continued......... |
Laide found herself floating in the air, she had already recognized that she was in some sort of dreamland but why she couldn't jolt herself awake was a concept too difficult for her grasping. Her feet touched something slippery and cold, she shuddered in fright, instinct warned her not to look beneath so she shut her eyes tightly while bracing herself for the worst. She wasn't much for religion so she told herself praying wouldn't help because her concept of God was some distant deity sitting on the clouds and dishing out orders to the angelic host. The truth of God being a loving father and a caring king never really made it to her ear lobes, not anybody's fault in particular. She grew up with a certain disdain for religion when her parish priest attempted to touch her pubic region during her early teenage years. The slippery thing glided past her left foot again. Curiosity; that demon, urged her to open her eyes and behold what danger she might be in. But she resisted the temptation as if to say "Man shall not live by sight alone.." Something began to climb up her spine, "Dear Lord, help me" she whispered to the deity she considered to be old with grey flowing beards that extended to the foot of his throne. Ignoring the fact the said deity never ages nor changes, neither is he bound in time like the mortals he created. The slippery thing made it to her neck, she felt chilly as it seemed to be trying to access her brain. Finally she mustered the courage to open her organ of sight and indeed she did behold a compelling sight. Her eyes were instantly flooded with light once she opened them, she saw a network of cables, delicately connected from one to another and they were all glowing. There seemed to be communication occurring between this wired beauties, they weren't all the same colour too, this colourful assortment added to the beauty of the network. It was one of these cables that was caressing her delicately, as if to relax her nerves, though this successfully achieved the direct opposite of the intended purpose. The cable she was becoming intimate with caressed her neck, made its way from the back to the front and then got around the back and stopped just at the point where her brain connected to spine, rubbed the region for a while and suddenly dug into the place, she winced but not from pain, for the action produced some form of pleasurable sensation she had never felt before. She felt connected to the universe, there was this feeling of wholeness that engulfed her being. A strange feeling of nostalgia captured her, images of past events long forgotten began popping up. Like the times she and her dad had gone to the movies and the ice cream trips which made movies worth watching. The memory of her mother's floggings anytime she did something 'un-girly' like climb trees or dance on the fence was among the images. As the images flashed pass, the image of the burial of her parents after the accident lingered, sadness encompassed her, she felt heavy on the inside, she wondered when or if she would see them ever again. She began to hope that all the theories of the after life would hold true, it would afford her the luxury of being united to her family again. If only they were blessed with more than one child, she wouldn't have been so alone when they passed away. She would have died of loneliness if not for Jamie.... 'Jamie!!' How was he? Where was he? How long had she been dreaming? ***** "Tara, only God will bless you for how you're keeping this studio afloat in my absence" Jamie said with his hands together as if in prayer to her. Tara his assistant just smiled and handed him the book of records.. "Izzy G, has been complaining bitterly though about your absence and his inability to finish his album with you" "Izzy na ma guy, we go settle when we jam, meanwhile put out an ad to find us a temporary producer while I'm away catering for my woman" |

***** "I should have punched him for having the guts to even suggest such atrocity" Jamie vented to Okoh who had come to pay them a visit later that day. "Thank God you didn't, that dude go beat shege comot from your body" Okoh mentioned jokingly. "Eh! E no fit" He replied touching his tongue as if that would validate his statement more than usual. "We would never know now, would we?" "Well, if he as much as shows his well shaved face here again we will know o" "Calm down bros, Laide doesn't need all that drama when she wakes up" "True sha" "Any update from the doctors?" "Same state, she's not improved one bit, but I am hopeful." "Stay strong bro, our prayers are with you. Wati said to apologize on his behalf, he won't be able to make it in to see you guys today" "Yeah, he called already. Something about his boss loading him with work." "Yes o, simply because he refused to sleep with her" "This generation of ours" Jamie said shaking his head in disbelief" "She would have fired him if she had the power but since she can't, she has decided to make life hell for him until he succumbs or quits." "Hard to believe that our own Wati still has some morals stuck in that heart of his" "Our conscience doesn't die out completely you know, we might kill it in relation to certain issues but it will still prick us concerning certain others" Said Okoh. "True, I agree wu...." He couldn't finish his statement as the beeping of the machines suddenly became very loud. Laide began to shake violently, Jamie and Okoh had to restrain her to the bed to keep her from falling off, as they both kept screaming "Doctor!!!" "Nurse!!" As the doctor and three nurses rushed into the private ward, Jamie and his friend were ushered out. Jamie with his hands on his head as if to say 'I am finished' prayed silently even as Okoh placed a comforting hand on his shoulder. |
"Hi, I am Martins Adelaja" A hunk of a guy, broad shoulders with muscly arms stood over Jamie with his hand stretched for a handshake. "Hi, I'm Jamie" He simply replied. With no emotions attached to the handshake, Jamie shook Martins. "Thanks for reaching out to me, I had no idea where she was and what had befallen her" Said Martins. Jamie just nodded and remained mute. Jamie tried to fault Martins' american accent but couldn't find a chink in that armoury, the words just poured out the guy's mouth like milk through a milk jar. Jamie had decided that though he was Laide's lawful and registered guardian, Martins deserved to know her state, so when Wati offered to go get him some clothing since he had adamantly refused to move from Laide's bedside. Jamie requested that he go over to the famous Adelaja estate on tombia street and get Martins informed of the mishap that has befallen their common interest. Martins wasn't bad to look at, Jamie admitted as he watched him observe Laide on the bed. The guy even smelled rich, his perfume had this thick scent like it was choked with money. This dude can have any woman he chooses in this town, why must he snatch his sneaker? Life's just cruel, such uneven distribution it always likes to make... "Don't touch that" Jamie warned Martins as he reached for her medical report. "Don't worry, I'm a pharmacist" said Martins. Jamie still had reservations but he decided to reserve them. He watched Martins' face as he 'studied' the report. Something wasn't right because Martins' face kept loosing its shine with every line he seemed to read. "Everything okay?" inquired Jamie. "Not certain about that" said Martins. "What do you mean?" "What did the doctor say about her recovery?" "Something about it being in the hand of God and that I should keep talking to her, maybe the sound of a familiar voice will help bring her out of coma" "Going by this report, she's barely alive. Its the machines that are keeping her alive" Jamie felt a sharp stab in the chest, he held onto his chair just so he doesn't fall off. Martins continued to broadcast his bad news. "If the lights as much as go off for ten seconds, she'll be no more." "The doctor didn't tell me this, are you sure about what you're saying?" "A hundred percent. This private hospitals are all about money, so I'm not surprised they kept this quiet" Tears crowded Jamie's eyes but he tried not to loose face before this dude. He still had some form of manly pride domicile on his inside. "What do we do now?" Jamie couldn't help but ask. Martins swallowed hard before he spoke "I think she should be allowed to go" "Go where?" Jamie asked a bit confused. "The woman should be allowed to rest" "Still don't follow" "She's in pain and the best thing for her is to crossover to the great beyon..." "What gives you the right to end another human's life" Jamie interjected sharply. Martins made to speak but Jamie wouldn't let him as he continued in apparent disgust for the fellow standing by Laide's bed. "You've only been here ten minutes and you want to kill her already, how dare, such effrontery to make a bold declaration like that." "You ought to consider her..." "And how exactly is killing her in her own bloody interest" Jamie's had risen without him realising it, a nurse walked in and enquired what the matter was. Jamie simply said Martins had over stayed his welcome and that he wasn't allowed to come visiting again, he should consider Laide gone, since that was what he wanted. Martins shook his head and swallowed his words as he walked out, considering the establishment was a hospital, he didn't want to cause any hocus pocus. ***** |
Sorry guys for the delayed update, was really swamped.. Make una no vess a beg, stay with moi. |
***** It was dark at first, but then she became aware of so much white. Everything was white, everyone was white. But everything and everyone was a lot different than she was familiar with yet they all seemed very familiar; she felt slimy and just a wee bit weird. Too many white, is this heaven? They always say heaven is pure white, maybe because people equate white to purity but in truth white isn't even a color but the absence of color. She shook herself energetically, peradventure to awaken from this confusing dream. She realised that though she was in this slimy white environment, she was hearing her thoughts from above the environment, as though her spirit was levitating above her body, more like her brain actually. She attempted to stretch her hand only to discover she has no hand, could this be any weirder? This is one hell of a dream, she thought. Somebody bumped into her, she raised her head to see a sparkling white fellow with no hands or legs just a head and a tail, kinda like Jasper from that ghost movie, only that this one was transparent and had no face neither gender, it was just a white headed tail. But she wasn't scared at this sight. It baffled her that she wasn't in the least bit scared at the sight she saw. What does this mean? Maybe she wasn't scared because she looked exactly like that, she was a headed tail with no face nor gender. Suddenly there was excitement in the atmosphere, everyone became hyperactive. It was as though they were getting ready for a race, she found herself ready to participate, something on her inside knew that her life, her existence depended on this race, so she braced herself and resolved that she must win this race. As they ran with lightning speed in a direction they have never ventured into before, one might call it unfamiliar territory yet the territory welcomed them with eager expectations. She was seventeen heads behind but she maneuvered her way forward amongst several billion others. She pushed and knocked others out of her way, her strenght was failing but she was more determined to win this, soon she had only one person to beat. As they navigated a bend she perceived they were on the final lap of this eternal race, with one magical twist, she surged forward just in time to be received by what appears to be some sort of egg. She did it! She won!! Hold on, did she just witness her own fertilization process? This was how she was conceived? crap! This is one really weird dream, yet she couldn't wake up from it. |
When Laide left Jamie's presence in tears, she wasn't pretending to be hurt, she was hurt. She was angry at herself, angry at her parents for donating her future without her consent. Doesn't she have a say? After all it was her future wasn't it? She wished she could talk to them and just get them to reverse this verdict they have passed on her life. Who made them judge over her life? They were only custodians of her life and not the owners thereof. She bled from within, chaos was brewing on her inside, like the waves of the sea slapping against the walls of a frail boat, she was being tossed up and down but on the inside; like a brew of hot stew brewing on three stones with fire woods under, coated by flames of fire, she felt consumed with all she was feeling. As she drove off, she saw him enter into his house, the thought that she was no longer welcomed into that house tore her to bits. She kept driving even as the tears clouded her vision. What was the purpose of life, if she was going to go through it without her sneaker? The more she cried, the more she stepped on the gas pedal and the more the engine revved. The speedometer was reading 180km/h but she cared less for life, Martins wasn't half the man Jamie was and so life with him was better off not lived at all. She saw the truck approaching, she closed her eyes and turned her steering towards it. The last thing she heard was the sound of glasses breaking into a million piece, then there was darkness everywhere. ******* |
Jamie dropped the phone as it smashed against the hard floor. He looked up then down, he ran into the bedroom and back to the sitting room, then found himself in the kitchen, was about to dash into the toilet before he saw them on the dinning. He grabbed the keys, went to where the phone was caressing the floor, picked it up and made for the main entrance as he exited his House without shutting it. He drove like he was raving mad through the Port Harcourt traffic as one possessed by the formula one spirit, not one of the sixteen thousand insults that commuters threw at him did he really hear. He pulled into the ambulance parking lot area of Madram Specialist Hospital, he saw one of the men in security outfits approaching his car but ignored the man, jumped out the oxblood Honda Element and ran into the hospital, barefooted. "Calm down sir, we can't let you see any patient like this" "Please I beg of you, let me just see her, I can go home and dress afterwards. I need to know how she is" he pleaded with the nurse at the waiting area of the hospital. "Sir, please go and come back when you're dressed more appropriately" the nurse said with pity in her eyes. "I can't leave here unless I see her" he said with the pitch of his voice raised. "Sir, I don't want to call the security on you, but I will if you continue to shout" "I'm I shouting? this is not shouting o, just keep stopping me and you'll hear shout" he screamed at her. The security man that was approaching him earlier came behind him with two others. They attempted to reason with Jamie but he was out of control, so they grabbed him and took him to their office amidst his shouts and cries coupled with some kicking. When Wati received a call from Madram Specialist hospital to come with some clothing for Jamie, he was beyond baffled. So he called their other two friends, Poju and Okoh to come assist him in this dilemma. They arrived the security post and saw Jamie in a polka dotted brief and and an ash colored vest. With concern on their faces they approached him, the moment he saw them he broke down in tears. This shocked them greatly, for in all their years of friendship they had seen Jamie cry only twice; one at his mother's funeral and the other time was in their Jss one, when a senior student trashed Jamie mercilessly on his bare buttocks. Jamie was the one who taught them how to 'dust' canes. They all knew something had gone terribly wrong, they sat beside him and tried to comfort him. Wati suggested they take him home but he refused, that he must see her first. So they gave him the clothes they brought as Poju enquired from the security what had transpired. When they learned that Laide was involved in an accident, they understood the reason for their friend's behaviour. At the waiting area he apologized to the nurse for his rash and unreasonable behaviour earlier and she attested to being used it. She gave them Laide's room number and they headed to the elevator to ascend the floors of the six floor hospital, she was in room 451 on the fourth floor. She was on life support. Tubes ran in and out of her, it was a sour sight for Jamie and his friends. He sat down on the floor and all he could do was pray for her. "God I know, that I haven't been the best subject in your kingdom, but I plead for her life, please take mine in exchange for hers...." "Stop it now.. don't say such things" Okoh rebuked Jamie sharply but in love. "Why not?" Jamie blurted out angrily. There was silence as nobody answered but looked away. "She's my everything, what would life be without her..... it'll just be empty and dark" he continued. |
As he awoke, Jamie cursed himself for waking up to this harsh reality, this reality where he's all alone and all broken in a million pieces. He hated his life, the same life he was so in love with 48 hours before. He attempted to curse Laide, but couldn't for he still loved her beyond the hatred. His mind navigated towards thoughts of her, he shook his head vigorously as if to shake out all thoughts of her off his brain. His phone rang. As he made to get up, a sharp pain bit him just below his medulla, it ran down his spine. He was so sure it was the sorrow that had accumulated there, he winced in agony and managed to stand. He got to the phone on the sofa just a second before the call was added to his missed call list. "Hello?" He echoed into the receiver, almost not recognizing the sound of his own voice. "Good morning, please I'm I onto Mr. James Oklo?" A male voice came across. "Yes you are, who's this please?" "I am nurse Amedu from Madram Specialist Hospital, we have a miss Laide here who was rushed in, during the early hours of the morning..." "What happened? is she alright?" Jamie interrupted with worry and care hewn into his every word. "We can not say for sure yet, she dialed your number last, that's why we're calling you, she's unconscious..." |

"Jamie please forgive me, I know it was an expensive joke, I just wanted to know what you would do if I hurt you, had to push you to the extreme, I am deeply sorry" Laide reiterated to Jamie's hearing again. Jamie was beyond glad but his ego won't let him just jump up and hug the living daylights out of her. He sat on the sofa as Laide stroked his chin he felt as though he was in heaven, maybe on St. Jude's avenue sipping coolade in front of St. Magdalene's wine and juice bar. She pleaded by planting a kiss on his shiny forehead and begged some more, all his being was aching to hold her in his embrace but he resisted sternly. The pain in his chest had vanished without a trace. He was at peace, such peace that he had no words to effectively capture the scope of it. Even his thoughts danced delicately on the waves of his brain, he was whole again. But how dare she? How could she toy with him so? isn't she supposed to know how much he loves her and the wreckage such a prank would do to him? "So there's no Martins?" he inquired. "There is..." Laide replied. Jamie's heart took a leap. "But he's my cousin" she added almost in laughter. He took a pillow and aimed it at her head. "Mad woman" he said unable to hide his affections for the lady of his dreams. His attempt to hide his smile made his cheek full as though harbouring the oily Puff Puff sold down the street. "Just smile joh, you know you want to" She urged him. He just laughed and sent another throw pillow in her direction as she dodged and ran towards the kitchen, he chased after her with the couple laughing melodiously. When he caught up with her he stated that he needed to be appeased for this huge prank and she agreed. "Let me make banga soup for you. It will help quench the explosive banger that has gone off in your heart" Jamie laughed and muttered something about a revenge. There was a wrap on the door. "You expecting anybody?" Laide enquired of Jamie. "Not that I know of" he responded. He went towards the door and the knock grew louder, which made him upset because he had said he was coming to whoever was behind the door. He yanked the door open but there was nobody there. But the knock would not subside, his anger intensified. What is happening? he heard the knock again. Slowly his eyes began to open, first thing his eyes caught wind of was the poem he wrote before he drifted off to foreverland. It dawn on him that he had been dreaming. ©J.S.Otache |
When she left, he walked into his apartment and shut the door behind him. He leaned on the door after closing it and tried in futility to keep the lock on the gate of the tear cave lying behind his eyes but was failing frantically. He wept and wept, the pain was just too much to bare, the words of his father kept ringing in his head "A true African man doesn't have tears in his eyes", I guess I am not a true African man then, he thought to himself as the tears kept dropping nonstop. 'Who did I offend? Maybe my days of sneaking were catching up with me, I guess this is what they call karma' Jamie iterated to himself, as he dropped the 128th fold of tissue paper on the huge pile beside him. The literal pain that stood in the middle of his diaphragm made it hard for him to breath, even as he imagined the fifty million questions he would have to answer his family and friends when he tells them the wedding is off. He thought of calling Wati but restrained himself from making such a costly mistake. He knew Wati was just going to drag him to a bar or a club to boogie down, and 'boogie downing' was the last thing on his shattered heart. He tried not to think of the shame he would have to deal with when the news gets out that the almighty sneaker has had his heart broken at last. He thought of how time has passed him by and that he was no longer a child, he was 29. Is he to start all over again? After believing he was at the finish line. If he didn't know the value of life he would be contemplating suicide but life was far too valuable to be thrown away just like that, so he's not considering it. He got up from the floor and headed towards his reading table, opened a yellow book on the table, sat down and starting scribbling, he ended up with an untitled poem. *'As one beaten by the rain, I walked away soaked in my tears As though born in the sea, I tasted the salt that strolled down to my lips Shivering in the sun, the heat failed to melt away the emotions within I walked on coals and felt cold, though I walked with a volcano within Eruptions of thoughts exploding in my mind, I could taste the ash on my tongue Bitter-bitter was the sweetness you offered A cloud of lies blinded my sight from the truth The fragrance you wore, hid the stench of your smell Behind your smile, laid the fangs of death A bite of your love shatters my life As the poison flowed through my veins I lay in pain and shut down my brain.'* As he thought about what title to give it, he leaned back on the chair and dozed off to 'Neverland' a place of serenity and joy, a place void of age and pain. ***** |
Wow!! The response is encouraging, almost in tears for all the love. I guess I have to continue the story, update coming soon.... Hopefully tomorrow evening or this evening self, who knows... |
After what seemed like a century, Laide calmed down. Jamie wasn't sure whether to ask her what happened yet, so as he doesn't send another wave of tears cruising down from the fountain of tears which seemed to lie behind her tender eyes. He just held her in his arms for no longer than eternity had clocked before Laide spoke. "I have wronged you beyond what words could describe" Jamie was taken aback by her statement. He made to speak but she stopped him. "Please don't interrupt, for I might not find the strength again if I stop." Jamie swallowed his words and nodded in the affirmative. "You have been my rock all these years. Even when I lost my parents, you helped me find my feet and guide me. If you hadn't taken responsibility for me, maybe I would have dropped out of school but because you stood in for me, I am a graduate today." Jamie just watched her as she spoke with tears in her eyes. She continued "I will be forever grateful to you for your faithfulness and love. You have turned a street girl into a woman, a woman envied by all her contemporaries, elevated above them all" "You're scaring me Laide" Jamie managed to say. Laide shook her head and proceeded with her emotional roller coaster of a speech. "When I was twelve, my parents betrothed me to Martins Adelaja, the second son of chief Adelaja, merchant of the west" Jamie felt as though a truck just dropped on his head. Instantly he had headache, the room became too cold, even the light seemed a bit dim, for a moment all he saw was darkness. He searched for words to speak but his mouth was bitter and words eluded him, as though scared he was going to chew them into bits and spit them on her face. Laide scanned Jamie's face for a second then proceeded with her tale of terror. "He's been in the states all this while but he's back now and can't wait to marry me" Jamie swallowed hard, as he removed his arms from around her. His eyes went bloodshot as he stared into space, away from her face. "I told him about you, and he gave me this box of money to give you as compensation for all you have done for me." Jamie looked into her face as if to confirm if she seriously just said that to him. Still unable to make a coherent sentence so he said nothing. He was finding it hard to even make headway of what his thoughts were saying. His thoughts sounded like a dumb man trying to speak words for the first time. "If you love me as you have always professed, please understand that this is not intentional and that I have to do this because of my parents. I can not afford to dishonour them, now that they're gone." "Get out of my house" Jamie said. His heart bleeding from a thousand holes. Holes created by her words. Laide tried to beg Jamie but just kindly kept pointing at the door, she stood to leave and made to leave without her box of money. He pointed to the box and motioned for her to go with it. Laide wept as she dragged the box out of Jamie's house. At the stairs he stopped and managed to ask "Were you guys in touch all these years we've been together?" Laide nodded affirmative. Jamie just sat on the stairs and watched her leave with all his trust for he knew he was never going to trust another female in his life. Sneaker was leaving him heartless for he gave her his heart long ago, the least she could have done was return his heart, instead she brought a box of money he didn't need. ©J.S.Otache #thoughtnibbles |
Laide was the best sneaker he ever had. Aside from the fact that the first day he laid eyes on her she was wearing a pair of white Adidas sneakers and her laugh was a sort of snicker, she also happened to be munching on a sneaker chocolate bar, there was just something about her perfectly cultured face that made him like her. ******** Jamie was nicknamed sneaker because of the amount of ladies he sneaks into his room on a weekly basis. Why sneak? He was forced to sneak them in because of his father's strict policy, which prohibited his three sons from harbouring women in his house. Jamie had to much tricks up his sleeves and so was the one who smuggled his babes and his brothers' babes into the house, not once has his father ever caught him unlike his brothers who couldn't even smuggle unripe mangoes into the house without their father's notice. Laide was the perfect babe. She understood the sneaking game better than anyone, her curves allowed her to curve her body into a shape that could fit into the burglary bars of his windows, indeed she was the perfect sneaker. Its been 7 years since he met his perfect sneaker, because of her he even stopped sneaking girls into his house, for she had not only snuck into his house but also into his heart, she was the only one to ever make it that far, for her, he turned a new leaf. His brothers were of course shattered when he gave up his sneaking business. Barely twelve weeks to their wedding, and she's sneaking away from his life with his heart in a box. ******** As he watched her leave with tears cascading down her delicately molded face, he thought; 'only women will break your heart and still cry about it, such sneaky creatures', he concluded. That faithful evening she called. "Hey baby, how are you?" she inquired with a voice that sounded as though sixty thousand angels were singing under water. "Awesome hon. Are you on your way?" he asked, recalling she had earlier told him she was coming to see him. "Yeah, just finished dusting my face, will be there shortly" "I always wonder why you bother applying makeup, knowing fully well that there's no flaw in facial design" "ohhh!! Baby, let's not argue over this makeup ishh now and thanks for the complement by the way" "See you in a bit, love you badly" he said smiling. "Love you sneaker" "Bye" he said as he hung up. He sat there smiling and reeling in the thought of how lucky he was to be marrying a chaste lady as his sneaker. Not once has he suffered infidelity at her hands, she's been to in love to cheat. She tells him of all the toasters that approach her, and they often share jokes at the expense of these toasters. ******* Laide stood at Jamie's door for over half an hour without knocking. She heard him laughing, obviously enjoying the movie he was watching while he waited for her. She cursed herself silently underneath her breath for having to do this unjust evil to him. He didn't deserve this and neither does he deserve her, for she was evil. The tears ran down her cheeks again for the umpteenth time. She looked at the car keys in her hands, which Martins had given her and busted into a fresh frenzy of tears. This wave was stronger than she could handle, she stretched her hands to knock on the door when Jamie who had heard her sobs ran out to meet her with a million questions. "What happened? Did someone touch you? what's wrong babe?" Laide just sobbed the more as Jamie wrapped his large arms around her and took her inside the house. Jamie didn't notice the box she dragged with her as she walked into the house cause he was totally focused on her face and wiping her tears. |

As if their incessant strike actions is not enough negative news, the school has ordered all students to go beardless as if to remind them that the okra is never too tall to be plucked. Other reports reaching me (though yet to be confirmed) is that they also plucking trousers from their lady 'okra' students, saying girls are no longer allowed to wear trousers... I'm sure the Governor is too busy plotting to distribute wheelbarrow tires to youths (As the originals would be worn out by now) he won't say a thing about this..

Think you should rename it to 'the day after she died' Title is too long and seems playful. |
