Hello Oyin,
Still wondering how come your British passport isn't transferrable to your kids. Everyone I know with one has transferred to their kids. The condition for some is that the kids must be born in the Uk. I also have friends who do not have a British passport but their kids have because they were born in the UK and have ancestors that were UK citizens.
In my opinion it is worth doing further research as your healthcare should be covered since you are a citizen and the service here is usually better. Besides the perks of having a British passport far outweigh the US one.

Hello people,

kindly help!!!

- Does one with birtitsh passport require a visa for birthing in the US

- This passport is non transferable to children (before some people start asking why not consider the UK for birthing)

- If one requires a visa what is the process like?

- if the visa is not required what is the process like.

Remember that those with the UK passport have a waiver to the US for 90 days maximum without a visa.

Would appreciate your responses. Thank you
@Mestar, congrats on the birth of your baby. I sent you a pm, just need clarity on a few things. Thanks
... So the Lord blessed us with a baby girl a few weeks back. Apologies for sharing my experience a lil late. It hasn't been easy managing two infants. Everything from the prenatal visits to the deliveryat Mihs went well. I had planned to have a natural delivery without any pain meds just like my first but the little snag was going through the pain alone without any support person. ]

Hello @lalavita and @justwise.
Went to see the consular officer today and all went well. He only needed to see our burden of proof and I had bank statements and also a quote from the US hospital. He did however refer to last year's interview and I told him I wasn't aware I was pregnant at the time and I was only renewing for my vacation in December which I've since embarked on. He then proceeded to tell me about not using the public healthcare system etc.
Thanks a lot!

lalavita:
Go with your full burden of proof.
- Dr and Hospital correspondence
- Bank statements
- Budget for trip
etc...

Also reflect on your first appointment so you have your facts right. Just be honest and pray.
All the best.

That is why they want to have a chat with you, go prepare with all your documents regarding baby delivery.
Thanks @justwise

Hello. I have a quick question. I renewed my US visa last year for vacation purposes which I have since embarked on and returned. However during the interview I remembrr the VO asking if I was going for baby shopping and I said no since I wasn't planning to. I have since decided to have my baby in the states and I sent an email to them informing them of my plans as advised here. I got a call earlier today from the consulate requesting I come for a chat. What do you guys think? Do I go prepared with documentation or why would they need to see me? The visa is B1/B2, I am also not based in Nigeria.
