Section b of rule 14 negates the intent of that specific rule. No need voiding a bet slip because according to your rules voided or not once placed the slot is used up.

Rule 4 offers a contradiction to the format of posting. Either remove the word 'ONLY' or expunge that rule.

FORMAT FOR DROPPING TIPS:
This is accepted format with which you must abide when dropping your game(s).

(I) Select and stake on your games.

(II) After placing your bet, just go to your history and copy the bet number/ID. (You bet ID will appear only on computer version or new mobile version)

(III) Paste the BET number/ID and Your MERRYBET USERNAME and indicate how many

HOW POINTS ARE AWARDED:
Points will be used to grade punters odds during the qualifiers (rounded to the nearest whole number) eg
1.55 = 2pts
2.76 = 3pts
2.44 = 2pts
5.59 = 6pts
5.49 = 5pts

What this means is that if your total odd is 1.50, and your game(s) comes out green, you will be awarded 2 points, even if your total odd is 1.59, you will be awarded 2 points.
Also, if your total odd is 2.49, you will be awarded 2 points. in essence ".50" upward is rounded off as 1, while ".49" downward is rounded off as 0.

"Don't worry about the rounding off, it is our duty to do that"

Rules guiding 2016 MERRYBET PUNT for PRIDE 5

1. You need to be a registered member of MERRYBET to participate.

2. Minimum allowed odd is 1.5 (single or combo)

3. All markets and odds must be from MERRYBET, and participants are REQUIRED to stake (min. N200) on their game(s) for it to be valid.

4. You are required to ONLY paste the BET slip and Bet no/ID of your games and (the number of slot to be used which is only applicable only during the qualifiers) merrybet username, but remember minimum amount to stake is N200.

5. The tournament is NOT limited to football only. Picks from other Sports are accepted provided it is from MERRYBET.

6. Live in-play is NOT allowed. Odds at in-play change rapidly and we can't keep a good record on such fast-changing odds.

7. Points will be used to grade punters odds. This system of grading will ONLY will be applied in the qualifying rounds. (rounded to the nearest whole number) e.g.
1.55 = 2pts
2.76 = 3pts
2.44 = 2pts
5.59 = 6pts
5.49 = 5pts
(in essence, from .5 and above, your odd will be rounded to the nearest whole number).
All points starts at 1. If u lose any of your selections (single/accumulator), no point will be added to u.

8. Singles or accumulator ONLY; no Canadian, Goliath, Yankee. In other words, no 3-from-4 or 5- from-7. Keep it simple.

9i. For the qualifying rounds: 3slots will be given to each contestant. You can use all your slots on 1 selection but you cannot post any other selection once your slots are exhausted.
ii. For the league round: one slot per week will be alloted for a duration of 15weeks.

10. Any BET number/ID/slip or ticket with a stake below #200 will be voided and participant risks being DISQUALIFIED from the tournament.

11. All SLOTS not used will be FORFEITED. (There would be NO SLOT carry-overs)

12i. For the qualifiers: All BET numbers/IDs/slip/tickets MUST BE POSTED on the thread at least one hour before the KICK- OFF of the first event on the bet slip.
ii. For the league: All BET numbers/IDs/slips for each week must be posted on the thread NOT later than a Wednesday 11.59pm.
For the avoidance of doubt, any who doesn't adhere will have his slot forfeited for that week.

13i. All BET SLIPs /IDs/tickets must be dropped and played before 11.59pm (ONLY applicable to deadline day WRT the qualifiers)

ii. All BET SLIPs/IDs must be dropped before every Wednesday 11.59PM and played before every Sunday 11.59pm within the week (ONLY applicable to the League)

14. Anyone who drops a bet number/ID/slip which contains a validly placed bet and requests for it to be voided shall have his/her request granted by:
a) having the BET number/ID/slip voided.
b) have his SLOT counted as used.


====IN ADDITION====

15. Your BET number/ID/slip must be quoted by a participating member of the tourney or the Moderators of the tourney for it to be valid.

16i. For the QUALIFIERS: Time for submission of BET slips/ID is 0700 - 2359GMT(7AM - 11:59PM) ANY BET number/ID/slip dropped after the deadline will be INVALID. This simply means submit your bet slips/IDs on time.

ii. For the LEAGUE: Time for submission of bet slips/IDS within any given week will be between any Monday 12.01am - any Wednesday 11.59pm

17. Any attempts to abuse or break the rules will result in the following disciplinary actions.
*Disqualification from the tourney.

18. DUPLICATION OF OPPONENT GAMES IS EXPRESSLY FORBIDDEN
Events and markets as already appeared on your opponent's tips cannot appear on your BET SLIP.
One event/market may be termed as coincidence, while two & above events/markets will be termed duplication which may lead to your games been VOIDED.

19. The maximum permissible number of re-runs in any group in the event of a TIE is 1(one).
If after the re-run and there is still no clear winner, DEAD HEAT rules will apply.

DEAD HEAT
The contestant with the highest point in any other re-run after the initial 1(one) will WIN the tie.
There shall be no rounding up of odds. What you play is what you get.
The minimum odds still remains 1.5

20. Duplicate/Opposite BET
It is expressly forbidden to place duplicate BETS on the same market using multiple slots. This will be considered as UNFAIR advantage and the penalty is AUTOMATIC DISQUALIFICATION from the competition.
E.g. Using a slot to bet on OVER 2.5goals and using another slot to bet on UNDER 2.5goals on the same match.

21. Judges/Moderators decision is final.

22. These RULES are subject to amendment as the competition progresses.

- All participants will be grouped into 32 groups and the person with the highest odd within a group wins the group and would qualify into the main competition.
- For this stage, each participant would be allocated a maximum slot of 3(three) to use within this group stage within the specified/allocated time.
- Any unused slot(s) will be forfeited and cannot be carried over into the next round.
- Minimum stake throughout this competition is #200(two hundred naira only)

- The MAIN competition is going to take a different route this year. We are extremely excited about this new format.
- The 32 contestants who have qualified will take part in this competition in a LEAGUE format.(meaning its going to be a competition for 15weeks involving all 32 participants from the qualifying rounds and the person with the highest points amassed at the end of week 15 wins the competition)
- For this stage there will be NO rounding-up of the odds. What you play is EXACTLY what you will get.
- The minimum odds still remain 1.5 and the maximum odds is infinity.

- Our Week to be used in this LEAGUE stage starts from ........a MONDAY 12.01AM to SUNDAY 11.59PM.

After much deliberation and different contributions from different concerned quarters, I am pleased to anounce that we have listened to your argument.

Based on those, during the Merrybet Punt for Pride 5, we would retain the use BET numbers & bet slips, as both will be required during this tournament.

All other rules still apply.

All concerns about the rules of competition would be looked into before the competition kicks-off.

Before you start to criticize something, have you tried to at least give it a chance to at least work. Humans in general do not like change.

The rule of posting ONLY the bet numbers will be looked into.....but that rule was made in the interest of everyone. (Some will understand & most won't).

At least, that is one rule that many people here are not favoured to because it affects ease of monitoring your opponents & other contestants bets (this can still be done via the MERRYBET platform) and also copying some good games from some good punters. The PROs & CONs will be reviewed again.

A decision will be made and will be made known.
