According to reports, the deceased identified as Miss. Ibeh Kelechi Assumpta a.k.a KC was A 400 Level Banking and Finance Student of Imo State University (IMSU) and was shot dead on her birthday yesterday.

The world’s second richest man, Bill Gates, has revealed the two “craziest” decisions he ever made in terms of buying stuff.

Gates is the founder of Microsoft and co-founder of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and is the world’s second-richest person with an estimated fortune of $91.8bn, according to Bloomberg’s index.

Gates officially became a billionaire when he was 31 — the youngest billionaire in history, at the time. But the boost to his bank account didn’t send him on a spending spree, Gates said during a media interview.

“I don’t have many things that are extravagant taste, so it didn’t change too much,” Gates said, adding that his primary concern at the time was being able to pay his employees, many of whom had families to care for.

“So, you didn’t say ‘Oh I’m going to buy a Porsche?’” he was asked.

“I did — that I did,” Gates said. “That was an indulgence, and then eventually for my travel, I got a plane, which is a huge indulgence, so those are my two.”

“So, you have a Porsche and a plane and that’s it?” he was asked.

“In terms of crazy things, yes,” he said.

Gates has previously referred to his private jet as a “guilty pleasure” and “big splurge.” It has been widely reported that he owns a Bombardier BD-700 Global Express with seating for up to 19 people — and bought for $40m.

Gates also said he has a trampoline room in his home, a $125m mansion in Medina, Washington, which is less than one mile from fellow billionaire Jeff Bezos.

“We have a trampoline room in our house. The kids like that. An indoor trampoline — I recommend it,” he said.

It may not come as a surprise that Gates isn’t one for opulence. He and his wife Melinda are incredibly focused on philanthropy, having donated more than $2b in 2016 to causes related to global health and development and US education.

Former President of Nigeria, General Olusegun Obassanjo has expressed his disapproval at the failure of the present administration under the leadership of President Buhari. He said he was aware of the president’s lack of economic knowledge and understanding prior to his being elected but believed he would thrive with the help of like-minded ministers.

The President of Nigeria has been confirmed yesterday by the presidency that he is medically fit to contest for the presidential poll in 2019,  claiming that he is in a better state of health than he was in 2015 to seek re-election.

Mr. Femi Adesina, who is the presidential spokesman reveal this information while speaking with State House correspondents in Abuja.

Though he said that the president has yet to mind up his mind on whether to re-contest or not, his health will never be an issue and he is perfectly fine.



Adesina said, “Yes, health is wealth. The president is not a frivolous person. If he thinks that his health cannot carry anything, he will not do it. So, of course, his health will matter a lot. It will be very important but we need to give glory to God for the way he is now.  “Every day you see the president you see a glow about him you see freshness about him. I think he’s even in a better state than when he came in 2015. It’s all to the glory of God. So, once he assesses that his health can carry it, there’s nothing wrong if he steps into the fray. But he has the final decision.’’


He said the president has not decided to run for re-election as the whistle had not been blown for such activities by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).  He said, “Well, me I believe that things like Director-General will come when you have become a candidate. If the president steps into the fray now, he’s an aspirant just like any other aspirant. Having a Director-General comes when you become a candidate of the party.’’


The report on whether President Buhari will embrace the Nelson Mandela of Four-Years single term, Adesina said it was the constitutional right of the president to run or not to run.


“Of course, this is a democracy. People will always have a right to their opinion. You know one thing about democracy is that there is the multiplicity of opinion. So, those who believe in the Mandela option, it is their right. And it is also the right of the president to run or not to run. So, you don’t abridge the right of anybody under a democracy”, he added.

Effective studies show some Interesting results about the effects of smoking marijuana.

The study consisted of 412 marijuana users (they couldn’t find 8 more?) and 309 non-users, and they attempted to answer the question: The question is; Does smoking marijuana make you more creative?



Emily LaFrance, the co-author of the study and graduate student at Washington State University, says she first became interested in the topic when she noticed that a lot of her favorite artists admit they smoke marijuana. “This cannabis use was commonly thought to have been a cause of the creative success of many artists,” she explains. “I began to wonder about this commonly held idea – are cannabis users really more creative than non-users?”



The study is called “Inspired by Mary Jane? Mechanisms underlying enhanced creativity in cannabis users” and was published in Consciousness and Cognition. It examined the participants over a variety of areas including psychological tests and measuring creative works and achievements.



Some major points from the study include:
Cannabis users were more likely to be extroverted and open to new experiences.
Cannabis users reported higher levels of artistic creativity, but not a higher amount of creative achievements or completed works.
Cannabis users performed better on a convergent thinking test (which tests creative problem solving).


Overall, they did find that those who use marijuana are more creative than their counterparts who do not use it, but when they dug deeper they made a startling discovery.
