BUSINESSMAN Bayo Alaba delivered the first blow to the Tories, winning Southend East and Rochford for Labour by a comfortable margin.

The former Parachute Regiment member was the first winner to be announced at the Southend Leisure and Tennis Centre, gaining 15,395 votes against Conservative candidate Gavin Haran’s 11,368 votes.

Turnout for the constituency was 56.68 per cent, below the 2019 turnout of 61.25 per cent.

Mr Alaba, who is currently a councillor for the London Borough of Redbridge, said: “My biggest thanks tonight is for every person across Southend East and Rochford who put their trust in me. Tonight we made history and tomorrow our work begins.

Taiwo Owatemi hailed a ‘better future’ as she was re-elected as MP for Coventry North West on an 11,000-strong majority. The Labour MP returned to defend her seat, which she won only by a tiny majority of 208 in the 2019 election.

She said she had a ‘heart full of hope’ as she told constituents: “Your trust in me, in our shared vision, is truly humbling.”

Ms Owatemi paid tribute to her fellow candidates who she said ‘gave the people of Coventry North West real choice, and that is something to celebrate’.

Kemi Badenoch has won the seat in North West Essex amid the Tory wipeout by Labour.

Badenoch, who has been the women and equalities minister since October 2022, received 19,360 votes in the North West Essex seat with a majority of 2,610.

Why are SE governors there, when a particular SW governor demolishing SE people's properties in Lagos and possibly elsewhere?

Where were SW governors when GEJ from the SS was fighting to be re-elected as the Nigerian president in 2015?

The youg girl was unfortunately there at the time and was hit by a stray bullet

This was a case of criminality and had nothing to do with sit at home

This is Mrs Ifeoma Amarachukwu Ochiagha, who was one of five people killed at Nnewi, in Anambra, by unknown gunmen suspected to be IPOB members enforcing the Monday Sit-at-Home on June 17, 2024. She was only twenty two and had just been married the Saturday before her murder.
