The above is so ignorant. The word Palestine is the Greek corruption of the term Philistine, which you see in the Old Testament. The Romans continued the use of the word Palestine. Before The Torah (Old Testament) was written, they were known as Peleset by the Ancient Egyptians.

Abraham met them in the land when he moved to the Promised Land. We see this in Genesis 21:34:

"Abraham stayed in the land of the Philistines for a long time."

Notable people in the Torah (the books attributed to Moses) were Philistines, including Abimelech, the king of the Philistines, with whom Abraham entered into an agreement not to maltreat his people in Genesis 21:23.

Former US president Jimmy Carter said Saturday that eight months after a bloody war in the Gaza Strip the situation there remains “intolerable”.
