If Nigerians were serious they should've fought in 2023 to remove Tinubu when he was declared the winner.... For Amupitan and Ribadu to go, Tinubu must be sacked as well.... This is why a revolution is inevitable.....

TossTos:
None of them is getting sacked as PBAT is concern , those protesting for Amupitan's sack were just ranting..

Nigerians continue to underestimate the criminal capacity of Tinubu and his cronies.... 2027 will indeed shock many especially the obidients and other opposition groups....
PoliticsIf NSA Ribadu Can Keep His Job, Why Should INEC Chairman Amupitan Resign? by truthera(op):
I've observed several comments been made on this platform ever since the news of INEC chairman Amupitan being an APC member..... So many people have called for his resignation, demanding that Tinubu should force him to resign. Going through some comments, I wonder how Nigerians can expect someone like Tinubu, a deeply corrupt shady dirty politician who thrives on criminality to some how appoint a Saint to head INEC.... It is funny to read the kind of comments that's been made on some social online platforms by adults who I expect should know better but are asking silly questions, demanding the same dubious Tinubu to fire someone he appointed solely because of his dubious character, criminal mind and criminal abilities. If you are reading this post and think that Tinubu will sack Amupitan over mere social gossip, you are being delusional.... This was the same way Nigerians flooded social media platforms, disturbing social media space over Nuhu Ribadu's atrocities, his links with fulani terrorists, screaming for his resignation. What did Tinubu do? Nothing! Will Tinubu sack Ribadu? The answer is NO...

For those who may have forgotten what Nuhu Ribadu did and continues to do as NSA, below is a snippet of a news publication to refresh your memory...

National Security Adviser Mallam Nuhu Ribadu is fending off criticism after controversial defenses of his negotiations with terrorist gangs ravaging Nigeria.

Paying Ransom to Boko Haram

The fire storm erupted February 23, 2026, when AFP (Agence France Presse) reported that the Federal Government had paid off ISIS insurgents to release 260 pupils of St. Mary’s Catholic Girls School in Papiri, Agwara for $7 million dollars.

The local Nigerian media and international news outlets were flooded with an exclusive report by AFP, revealing that the terrorists who kidnapped over 260 pupils of a Catholic school in a Local Government Area (LGA) of Niger State, central Nigeria, on November 21, 2025, were paid either $7 million dollars or N2 billion Naira ($1.4 million) for the release of the girls through the office of the NSA, a claim that the Nigerian government denied.

Vanguard, which also published the report, points to Nuhu Ribadu as the major negotiator in the deal. Ribadu has never on his own denied the accusation, outside the denial by the Minister of Information.

The allegation stirred condemnation in the social media.

Following the AFP investigation a wave of criticism emerged in Nigerian political and media circles, with some suggesting that National Security Adviser (NSA) Nuhu Ribadu should step aside pending investigation, as aired by Arise TV.

Opposition parties, including the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the African Democratic Congress (ADC), demanded a full explanation of the negotiations reportedly led by Ribadu and warned that paying ransom to terrorists would contradict Nigeria’s anti-terrorism laws.

Bandits Are ‘Our Brothers’

With the hue and cry over the allegation, a video emerged early in March, showing Ribadu fielding questions in Hausa language to Hausa reporters. In the now viral video, Ribadu was soft on terrorists calling them “our brothers.”

“If you live in the same home with your brother (terrorist) and something bad happens to him, will you say that he is no longer your brother? If one of your arms gets infected, would you cut it off?

“There’s nothing you can do about it. “They are our brothers,” he said.

This again has elicited protest from Nigerians, dismissing Ribadu as too sympathetic to the terrorists, especially the Fulani Ethnic Militia (often referred to by mainstream Nigerian media as “bandits” but not by TruthNigeria) being a Fulani himself.

The remark triggered backlash from commentators, activists and sections of the public who accused him of appearing sympathetic to bandits or downplaying their crimes.

A widely circulated discussion noted that the comment “ignited a firestorm across the nation,” with critics arguing that referring to terrorists and bandits as brothers was insensitive to victims of killings and kidnappings in northern Nigeria. Some analysts said the language could weaken the government’s counter-terrorism message and demoralize communities that have suffered repeated attacks.

Arming MACBAN-linked Terrorists?

In December, 2025 Sahara Reporters reported that the Kwara State Government had confirmed arresting Fulani armed men linked to NSA Security Operation.

According to the report, soldiers intercepted armed men carrying AK-47 rifles while using a security patrol vehicle linked to Ifelodun LGA in Kwara State.

Kwara officials later said the men were members of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association (MACBAN) involved in a federal security arrangement coordinated through the Office of the National Security Adviser.

The revelation triggered public anger and fear about arming non-state actors in the region, especially being members of the dreaded MACBAN.

According to a source quoted in the report, the suspect confessed the firearm was issued to members through the Office of the National Security Adviser and the Kwara State Government.

The suspect allegedly wore a Miyetti Allah vigilante vest issued under the security arrangement.

The office of the NSA, according to Sahara reports, confirmed arming the MACBAN members, saying they were part of an auxiliary security body.

Amnesty for Bandits.

The NSA has also been linked to the controversial granting of pardons to notorious terrorist bandits operating in some states of Northern Nigeria.

Vanguard reported in December 2024 that the NSA was part of the deal that allowed “repentant” bandits to walk free and even enjoy some government incentives.

As I've said on several threads, nothing will stop Tinubu's APC government from retaining power in 2027 except a revolution.... If Nuhu Ribadu who have done far worse as NSA in compromising Nigeria's security can remain on his job, how do Nigerians expect Tinubu to fire Amupitan who he hired to head INEC for the sole purpose of safeguarding his re-election?

ottersberger:
Wise man!.

If you are wise, you would know that there's no chance that the measures you propose would be attainable under this president.

Tinubu would not allow the courts to make pronunciation against him, nor would a meaningful reform occur under an Akpabio led senate.

What is feasible however, is a mass action in the democratic space, which makes clear that he lacks the people's mandate to continue in office, and if necessary, by brute force.

Proposing anything short of the foregoing exposes you as supporting the continuation of this corrupt and failed government.

I've already provided a robust reply to all those attacking this thread over Peter Obi and 2027 election in another thread - https://www.nairaland.com/8651796/2027-election-peter-obis-fanatical

Nnamdi Kanu never got a fair hearing neither was his rights respected.... Nigeria kidnapped him from Kenya in violation of international law, organized an illegal trial in a kangaroo court and jailed him..... Is this justice? Was Kanu wrong to call out the lawless judge?

But your Messiah said he knew law na, he said the lawyer and the judge didn't know law, he defended himself straight to prison, what do you want again?
Look, personally, I know that votes do not work in Nigeria, if they did, they wouldn't let us do it, it's just a formality gan, so boycotting isn't going to help your man, restrategize, otherwise, the rest of Nigeria will call you enemy of progress tomorrow and you'll still use outrage to spread your umbrella of victimhood and duck under it again.
Whatever happens to you tomorrow, remember that be it in the past or the future, you did it to yaselves, y'all started it first.

What did you and your co travelers running riot on my threads do when Tinubu appointed Amupitan? What did you do to push for a fair election? Nothing! Instead of your cheap attempt at labeling my message as propaganda, you should be telling yourselves the truth that you've failed to stop Tinubu's re-election.... Social media is abuzz with news of INEC chairman being an APC member, what have you guys done to stop him except your usual social media theatrics after which all of you will go silent.... As I said, all of you wallowing in fantasy will eventually wake up next year.....Keep deceiving yourselves online.....

Sangoamadioha1:
There are two types of propaganda driven by Tinubu supporters.

1> The ones that support Tinubu with their full chest.
2> The ones that claim to be neutral but try to convince us that Tinubu's reelection is a foregone conclusion, so no need to fight against his 'victory' in the next election.

The OP is in the second category. But you lie because we will continue fighting against his reelection whether you believe it is a waste of time or not.

Politics2027 Election: Peter Obi's Fanatical Supporters Vs Tinubu's One-Party State by truthera(op):
I will use this medium to respond to all those still in denial of their situation.... To people like @budaatum, @givedemwotowoto and co that continue to fantasize over Peter Obi's presidency, pushing to remove Tinubu by voting in an election that Tinubu controls.... I say sorry in advance for the shock and painful realization that awaits all of you in 2027.....

I will once again make it clear, I do not support any party or politician in the upcoming election because I know no national election to install another corrupt pretentious politician can solve Nigeria's problems. I do not deceive myself neither do I waste energy on political fantasies. There is no way a fair election can occur as long as Tinubu is the president, you guys folded your arms and did nothing while Tinubu was busy installing his men to capture all independent democratic government institutions to the point that the country officially became a one-party state, a situation where INEC, NASS, judiciary and all institutions are directly under the control of his men as you continue to delude yourselves that some how your voting in an election will make Tinubu's one-party state to go away....

All of you that attacked my other thread titled "Why All Igbos Must Boycott 2027 National Election Over Nnamdi Kanu" blew all opportunities to get a level playing ground for your vote to count by not demanding for an unbiased INEC chairman and not pushing for the enactment of electoral laws that promote transparency like the real-time mandatory transmission of election results.... you folded your arms, did nothing to protect your rights but some how still believe that your votes will magically remove Tinubu?

All of you that are not tired of the fake retrogressive toxic union called "One Nigeria" are in for a rude awakening.... You will eventually wake up next year over your stupidity when APC wins, your candidate will lose not because you didn't vote but because you failed to tell yourselves the truth, you preferred lies and fantasy.

To all the neutrals reading this post, do not be deceived, Tinubu has already destroyed Nigeria's democracy completely, he has succeeded in dehumanizing majority of the people, nothing can stop his victory now because he will win massively next year using a combination of sophisticated rigging, vote buying and propaganda.... Nigeria is a British contraption designed to serve the selfish interests of the few against the majority..... Voting to validate Tinubu's well crafted fraudulent election will guarantee this vicious cycle of retrogression to continue.... A revolution that will bring about a national referendum towards decentralization or dissolution of the contraption remains the only way out for the people..... All what I've said here will become clearer and self-evident next year when APC wins again.....

In reply to some comments made here.....

Tinubu won't lose as long as 2027 election is concerned. Nigeria has no neutral democratic government institution left, the country is now officially a one-party state, INEC, NASS, judiciary and all institutions are under the direct control of his men, only a revolution can uproot the APC government now.......

You guys should stop selling false hope, stop the fantasy that voting can magical remove APC from power under these circumstances..... Igbos voting won't stop Tinubu in 2027.... What will make a big difference is if all igbos don't vote and boycott the election to make a loud statement against the hypocrisy and injustice of Nigeria..... This will go a long way in exposing the fake unity in diversity that Nigeria's bad leaders love to promote to deceive the world.... Let the whole world see that all is not well with the contraption.... For any election to hold in south eastern states next year, Nnamdi Kanu's unconditional release is non-negotiable....

RealityKings1:
That won't be a wise decision.
Look at it, you have senators and governors from the south east.

PoliticsWhy All Igbos Must Boycott 2027 National Election Over Nnamdi Kanu by truthera(op):
Speaking during Ohanaeze Imeobi and General Assembly at the Ohanaeze National Secretariat in Enugu, the President General, Chief Senator John Azuta-Mbata said the government should not be deceived by those going around promising Igbo votes, stressing that Nnamdi Kanu should be freed first before anyone would talk about votes.

“I have told the government that Nnamdi Kanu that is in jail, it is the entire igboland that is there. There’s no igbo man that is happy that Kanu is in incarceration.

“Let our people stop deceiving the federal government.

“We’re calling on the government of Tinubu to release Kanu. This is the minimal demand of ndi Igbo."
For the past 5 years since Nnamdi Kanu's detention, the south east had continued to observe the Monday seat at home protest to voice their displeasure over the unjust persecution done to Kanu by Nigeria.... The government has continued to ignore their plea, using the state governors to try to stop the weekly seat-at-home protest.... Now that 2027 election is near, I will use to medium to implore all igbos to unite and make the unconditional release of Nnamdi Kanu as a precondition for 2027 general election to hold in the region. No igbo boy, man, women or girl should be seen voting or participate in any electoral process on that election day if Nigeria's government fails to release Nnamdi Kanu between now and 2027. All igbos within or outside Nigeria should work towards a total shutdown of all south eastern states on the election day.... Let the whole world know that Ndigbo will never bow to Nigeria's hypocrisy, injustice and lawlessness.... Nigeria's lawless government hopefully will get the message on that day....

For those stlll thinking of voting because of Peter Obi or igbo presidency, I will once again reiterate, no igbo man including Peter Obi will be allowed by the owners of the contraption to rule even if he somehow wins.... He will not be spared from the brazen injustice, lawlessness and hateful sentiment of "One Nigeria" against his tribe. I do not know why Peter Obi who should know better has continued to fight for the contraption. Why does Peter Obi want to save "One Nigeria" to continue the subjugation of his people? Obi continues to project himself as a messiah to a country built on injustice that will never accept him or treat his people fairly, giving false hope to his followers when he knows deep down what Nigeria represents, a fake false toxic union that can never bring about the prosperity and progress the people needs.... IMO, Peter Obi is nothing but a political opportunist on a futile exercise....

Let no igbo or freedom lover be deceived, Nigeria in its current form was never meant to work for your progress but to kill you. This is why the unconditional release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and a national referendum towards a total decentralization or disintegration of Nigeria must be the top priority of all igbos and all well meaning Nigerians in this critical time of national darkness, fear and hopelessness.....

No election should hold in any south eastern state next year, unless Nnamdi Kanu is released....

I am not sure what your true intentions are for continuing to wallow in self-denial over the hopeless state of Nigeria's electoral process, pushing for the masses to vote again to validate another APC's rigged election when you know INEC and other independent institutions are gone, captured by Tinubu.

As long as the status quo remains, what you call democracy in Nigeria will continue to be a fantasy you will eventually wake up from by the time Tinubu installs himself as the president next year..... Based on these circumstances, I will once again reiterate, only a revolution can bring about a national referendum that will free the people from this bondage called Nigeria....

"Free and fair", we can only make after we have considered voting, by watching over our vote we've casted and ensuring it is properly counted.
PoliticsRe: Why Peter Obi, Atiku And ADC #OCCUPYINEC Protest Failed by truthera(op):
Are you still rooting for a free and fair 2027 election? Ignoring me does not change the painful reality of what Nigeria has become and why a revolution is inevitable now..... True democracy can only thrive in a sane society where unity and patriotism exists.... Nigeria remains a contraption, a nation built on injustice, a forced union that can not and will not make any genuine progress unless justice prevails..... Peter Obi, David Mark, Atiku and all those pretending to offer some kind of messianic fake salvation, know the truth about Nigeria, they are only out to reclaim power for their own selfish political interests. This is why whenever I see Peter Obi's funny slogan "A new Nigeria is POssible..." it reinforce the notion of his hypocrisy because there can never be a new Nigeria that will benefit the people without justice, giving them back their right to exercise their consent over the country's fake toxic retrogressive unity that has killed millions and continue to kill the people. Any politician who genuinely want to help Nigerians will be pushing for a national referendum over Nigeria's cosmetic unity which I believe will lead to a total decentralization or disintegration of the country to free the people so that they can progress.... Nigeria's every 4 year election to install corrupt pretentious politicians will not change the people's fortune neither will it make the terrible situation they are facing to go away, it will only get worse until a revolution happens..... As it stands, one Nigeria is simply unsustainable....

Please let truthera know if that is you please, because it is not hopeful faith in us Nigerian me.

For the purpose of this thread, at least.
PoliticsWhy Peter Obi, Atiku And ADC #OCCUPYINEC Protest Failed by truthera(op):
I had wanted to refrain from commenting but for the sake of posterity I will proceed to once again share my opinion on Nigeria's situation. There are 2 reasons why no protest the ADC will organize between now and 2027 can galvanize Nigerians to support them.

#OccupyINEC Protest
It was not surprising to see the scanty crowd that ADC politicians pulled today over the #OccupyINEC protest in Abuja. Why I say it was not surprising is because anyone sensitive to the current reality before Nigerians should understand why many Nigerians did not bother to join the protest.... As I mentioned earlier, there are 2 reasons which I will list below.

- Terrible Economy
What many of these politicians in the ADC including Peter Obi fail to realize is that patriotism, national unity is dead as long as Nigeria is concerned. Many Nigerians have lost hope totally, they have been dehumanized, traumatized and totally impoverished to the point that only survival matters to them, only what they can eat and raw cash (money) is all they understand and care about.... Many people have been reduced to senseless animals over the jungle that Nigeria has become, they have no iota of care or understanding of any political ideological concept, democracy is a foreign word to these people..... This is why Nigerians sell their votes, engage in massive electoral rigging fraud and will do it again in 2027 to give Tinubu another victory.... So when calling for protest under this terrible jungle, you will only be able to get many Nigerians to join if food, money or some kind of material relief will be shared during the exercise.... Nigerians have been deeply damaged by bad leadership.

- False Messiah
When one say ADC is same as APC, I know many of you reading may get upset or disagree because of your cult like love for Peter Obi, Atiku or Kwankwaso. But the truth is that no matter how you try to whitewash these mainstream tested politicians, many Nigerians know their antecedents, they know what these corrupt politicians in ADC did while they were in government as members of the PDP or APC, they can see through their deceptive actions that they do not offer anything different from the status quo. This is why many Nigerians won't bother joining any protest led by politicians like David Mark, Amaechi, Obi, Atiku and co..... If these "opposition" politicians really cared about Nigeria's democracy and were serious in giving Tinubu a fight, they should've started protesting and held their ground before the national assembly passed the compromised electoral reform law that excluded mandatory real-time transmission of election results. The truth is Peter Obi, Atiku and others are too politically selfish, they are only playing with Nigerians, they offer no strong opposition against Tinubu's 2027 political ambition. I won't be surprised if ADC coalition collapses before 2027....

- Way Forward
As it stands, Nigeria as a country has no future but all is not lost for the people of Nigeria. What I believe will eventually happen over the continued effects of bad leadership, insecurity and rising cost of living will be an inevitable nationwide revolution that will not be announced or led by any politician or political party.....A revolution that will flush out Tinubu, APC, ADC, PDP and all existing political structures of corruption, oppression against the people to end the false union, the final death of the British contraption called Nigeria and the birth of a new nation or nations that everyone will be proud of.... It is my hope that this will happen before the 2027 rigged election....

The judgments, delivered by Justice Binta Nyako, stem from separate cases prosecuted by the Federal Government, with the court imposing sentences ranging from 10 to 20 years’ imprisonment alongside orders for rehabilitation and de-radicalisation.

Multiple individuals have been convicted and handed varying prison terms by the Federal High Court in Abuja over offences linked to terrorism, following proceedings that highlighted their roles in supporting the Boko Haram insurgent group.

The judgments, delivered by Justice Binta Nyako, stem from separate cases prosecuted by the Federal Government, with the court imposing sentences ranging from 10 to 20 years’ imprisonment alongside orders for rehabilitation and de-radicalisation.

In the first case, Hamatu Modu was arraigned on a four-count charge bordering on membership of Boko Haram, provision of material support, and dealing in funds linked to the proscribed organisation. The prosecution team, led by the Director of Public Prosecutions of the Federation, Rotimi Oyedepo (SAN), told the court that the charges were brought under provisions of the Terrorism (Prohibition and Prevention) Act, 2022.

The defence counsel, Aliu Abubakar, did not oppose the arraignment, and the defendant pleaded guilty to all counts.

Count one alleged that the defendant belonged to Boko Haram, contrary to Section 25 of the Act. Count two accused him of providing food and other items to the group, while count three involved receiving and handling funds amounting to N20,000

Following the guilty plea, the prosecution tendered the defendant’s extrajudicial statement and investigation report, both of which were admitted as exhibits without objection.

Justice Nyako subsequently convicted Modu and sentenced him to 10 years’ imprisonment on each count, to run concurrently. The court ordered that the sentence be served at a facility designated by the Ministry of Interior and directed that the convict undergo rehabilitation and de-radicalization.

In a related case, Isa Ali was sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment after admitting to providing support to Boko Haram.

Ali had been arraigned on a two-count charge, which included professing membership of the terrorist group and rendering support through the provision of clothes and logistics. He pleaded not guilty to the first count but admitted guilt on the second.

Upon his plea, the prosecution applied to strike out the first count, a request the court granted. The defendant’s statement and investigation report were then tendered and admitted in evidence, forming the basis for his conviction on the second count.

During sentencing, the defence urged the court to take into account that the convict had already spent three years in custody and described the offence as one of association. Justice Nyako thereafter sentenced him to 10 years’ imprisonment from the date of arrest and ordered that he undergo rehabilitation and de-radicalisation.

In another proceeding, the court convicted Auwal Bello for facilitating terrorism financing and sentenced him to 10 years’ imprisonment on each of two counts, to run concurrently.

Bello was accused of facilitating the exchange of about N750,000 during the naira swap policy for Boko Haram and paying N20,000 as tax to the group. He pleaded guilty to both counts.

The prosecution tendered his extrajudicial statement and investigation report, which were admitted in evidence. Although the defence pleaded for leniency, describing him as a family man with children, the court proceeded to convict and sentence him, while also ordering rehabilitation and de-radicalisation.

In the final case, Shehu Bukar faced a five-count charge, including alleged membership of Boko Haram, participation in a terrorist attack, providing support, undergoing weapons training, and withholding information.

He pleaded not guilty to four of the counts but admitted to one count of providing support by engaging in cattle rustling and selling goats to the group.

Following his plea, the prosecution applied to withdraw the remaining counts and proceed on the admitted charge, a request granted by the court. The defendant’s statement and investigation report were subsequently admitted as exhibits.

After reviewing the evidence, the court found him guilty. While the defence pleaded for leniency on the grounds that he was a first-time offender, Justice Nyako described the offence as “so gruesome” and sentenced him to 20 years’ imprisonment from the date of his arrest.

The court also ordered that he undergo rehabilitation and de-radicalisation, in line with measures aimed at addressing extremist conduct.

If fake rehabilitation exercise remains a means to regaining their freedom, how will these terrorists stop the killings? Is there any one still in doubt that Tinubu and his government are not involved, complicit over Nigeria's Islamic terrorism....? Unless the people rise up to flush out the fulani terrorists loving APC government, all bad leaders through a revolution and push to restructure or divide this contraption, nothing will change the status quo. These killings, economic sabotage and pains will continue until the people do the needful! There is no other way out....
Politics"Kill Anyone": SaharaReporters Shares Wike's 2016 Audio by truthera(op): 9:31am On Apr 07
FLASHBACK: Wike's 2016 Threat To INEC Official, 'Kill Anyone' Comment To Fayose Resurface After His Threat To Shoot Channels TV’s Okinbaloye

In December 2016, SaharaReporters reported how Wike, then as Rivers State Governor, was caught on tape as he held telephone conversations with INEC officials, political thugs, youth groups, and community representatives handpicked by him.

In the telephone conversations, exclusively obtained by SaharaReporters, Wike was arranging payments to the officials in exchange for their help in rigging legislative elections in the state.

The telephone conversations revealed Wike arranging with INEC officials, particularly those sent from Anambra and Plateau states, who were paid in batches to rig the election for candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Etche, Khana, Ikwerre, and other key local government areas in the state, where Wike and his supporters boasted they would overwhelm opponents with violence.

One of Wike’s phone calls went to a female INEC official who was complaining that the money offered by Wike was not sufficient for the rigging task.

An infuriated Wike told the woman that he had already paid the electoral coordinator in Plateau State.

At one point in the conversation, when Wike was told that one of the electoral officers was reluctant to sign one of the result sheets, Wike threatened to demand his money back from the recalcitrant official.

Then, as if not satisfied with his threat to collect back his money, Wike voiced his intent to kill the official, stating that the man would not leave Rivers State alive.

In the audio, Wike was informed that an Electoral Officer posted from Plateau State refused to counter-sign the electoral materials in order to collect the bribe he was disbursing.

In response, he said, "Don't worry, I will call the Plateau man now. I will tell him, if he does not return my this thing, I will deal with you."

When the person on the call with him said, "No, let him just sign, that is all," Wike said, "No, if it is that one, he should return whatever... I'm going to make sure that I kill him in this state. Just don't worry."

Wike then called one of his thugs identified as Owoh, and said, "Call that coordinator of Plateau, the man in Etche (Local Government Area), that I said he should warn his man in Khana (Local Government Area), that if he does rubbish, he should refund what we gave. That if he tries it, I will make sure that he never leaves this state.

"Tell him that he should warn him, if he is playing with people he thinks that he will collect that and begin to do rubbish, tell him that I said that they will see what I will do to him, if that is how they do.”

"In fact, call the three coordinators, that I said they should tell their people. If they want to joke with me, disturb me, I will kill them in this place before they leave, or they should return what I gave or I will kill them," he added.

On December 19, 2016, The PUNCH reported how Wike told the former governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose, how he used his office to influence the election rerun in his state (Rivers).

In the leaked audio, he told Fayose to kill anybody he could.

In what appeared to be a brazen display of disregard for state institutions, both politicians were heard ridiculing the Nigerian Army in crude terms during the exchange.

The two men, members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), were elected on the party’s platform.

The election in question was reportedly marred by widespread violence and irregularities, with at least three people confirmed dead.

In one of the leaked audio recordings, Wike was heard boasting about his role during the rerun, while Fayose praised him for confronting what he described as military intimidation.

The conversation included the following exchange:

Wike: “Ayodele, my son!”

Fayose: “You think I’m a Nigerian Army member?”

Wike: “Nigerian Army does not exist again now!”

Fayose: “Ah, Wike, you tried!”

Wike: (Laughter)

Fayose: “Everybody has been calling me! Wike, you are the man! You faced the whole country’s military threat…”

Wike: (Laughter)

Fayose: “They were shooting when you went o..!”

Wike: “My brother, you have to fight to the last o…! Kill everybody you can kill… Everybody you can kill!”

Fayose: “Ah! You’re the man of the year! This one is too much for one person! Everyone couldn’t know the way forward!”

Wike: (Laughter)

Fayose: “You went to the collation centre!”

Wike: “Yes, I had to stop there!”

Fayose: “Eh! The video is all over now! See the way they’re shooting!”

Wike: (Laughter)

Fayose: “All over! Aaaargh! Congrats!”

Wike: “My brother, thank God for everything. It is God.”

Fayose: “I’m sure we are still going to go to court against them for the other one.”

Wike: “Of course. Of course! We’ll fight it out!”

Fayose: “You’ve done well for all of us!”

Wike: “We thank God, my brother!”

Fayose: “I’ll call you later.”

Wike: “Okay.”

CrimeTerrorists Abduct Many In Kaduna And Borno Midnight Raid by truthera(op): 6:44pm On Apr 05
The victims, including a two-year-old toddler named Irene, were taken from their family compound around 11:45 p.m. on Saturday, April 4, 2026.

Fresh reports indicate that terrorists carried out a daring midnight raid in Kachia, Kaduna State, abducting five siblings from a single household.

The victims, including a two-year-old toddler named Irene, were taken from their family compound around 11:45 p.m. on Saturday, April 4, 2026.

SaharaReporters learnt that the insurgents set a church and several homes ablaze in what residents described as a coordinated attack on the predominantly Christian settlement.

Fresh terror struck Kwapul community in Chibok Local Government Area, Borno State, as suspected insurgents carried out a late-night raid on Saturday that extended into the early hours of Sunday.

SaharaReporters learnt that the insurgents set a church and several homes ablaze in what residents described as a coordinated attack on the predominantly Christian settlement.

A member of the family told SaharaReporters that the gunmen struck under the cover of darkness, breaching the compound’s security and leaving the household in terror.

“Kidnappers entered our compound in Kachia and kidnapped five of my siblings, including two-year-old Irene,” the source stated, adding that the family is currently in a state of shock and “praying to God for their safe return.”

The identities of the other four siblings have not yet been made public, but the abduction of a toddler underscores the increasing depravity of the banditry crisis plaguing Southern Kaduna.

This latest abduction follows a pattern of unbridled aggression in the Kachia Local Government Area.

On Sunday morning, terrorists also targeted the First ECWA Church and St. Augustine Catholic Church in the Ariko community, killing at least seven worshippers and abducting several others.

The back-to-back attacks within 24 hours suggest that the hinterlands of Southern Kaduna have been overrun by criminal elements, leaving families at the mercy of kidnappers who operate with near-total impunity.

Residents of Kachia and surrounding districts have repeatedly cried out over the thinning presence of security forces and the lack of a rapid response mechanism.

The latest raid on a private residence further highlights the failure of the Governor Uba Sani administration and the security agencies to protect the lives and property of citizens in the state's rural corridors.

As of the time of filing this report, the kidnappers have yet to establish contact with the family to demand a ransom.

Attempts to contact Kaduna State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan, by phone for comments were unsuccessful.

CrimeRe: Fulani Herdsmen Kill Nine In Benue Fresh Attack by truthera(op): 6:32pm On Apr 05
Nigerians comtinue to play the ostrich as Tinubu and APC destroy their lives..... It is glaring a revolution towards decentralization or disintegration of the contraption remains the surest way out to end this bloody pogrom....
CrimeFulani Herdsmen Kill Nine In Benue Fresh Attack by truthera(op): 6:29pm On Apr 05
At least nine persons have been reportedly killed in a fresh attack by suspected armed herdsmen on Agena community in Mbalom, Gwer East Local Government Area, LGA, of Benue State.

The attackers were also said to have razed several houses, including the community market and food barns, leaving widespread destruction in the community.

It will be recalled that a similar attack occurred in Mbalom on April 24, 2018 when suspected herdsmen stormed St. Ignatius Catholic Church, killing 19 persons, including two Catholic Priests, Fathers Joseph Gor and Felix Tyolaha.

It was gathered that Saturday’s attack left several persons missing, and injured one individual who is currently receiving treatment at a hospital.

A resident, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the attackers, numbering over 50, invaded the community in what appeared to be a coordinated operation.

“People were fast asleep when the attackers sneaked into the community around 5am and began setting houses and the market ablaze,” he said.

“As residents woke up and attempted to flee, the gunmen opened fire on them, killing innocent people without provocation. So far, nine corpses have been recovered, but we fear the number may rise as many persons are still missing and unaccounted for.

“It is a sad Easter for our people who were preparing for the celebrations before this tragedy struck.

“We cannot understand why these killings continue. A few years ago, they attacked this same community and killed two Catholic priests and worshippers in a church. We urge the government to take decisive action to stop these senseless killings,” he added.

The Security Adviser to the Gwer East Local Government Chairman, Mr. Austin Awua, who was at the scene to oversee evacuation of the victims, confirmed the incident.

While confirming the number of casualties, he said “the victims are mostly young men. Community members have also reported that several persons are still missing, although we have recovered nine bodies so far,” he said.

According to him, “residents said they noticed unusual movements between 4am and 5am, and by 5am the attackers had begun burning houses and the entire community market.

“At the moment, we cannot ascertain the reason for this unprovoked attack. The community is deserted, as residents have fled for safety.

This area is close to where two Catholic priests and 17 worshippers were killed in 2018. However, the situation is currently calm.”

Awua added that security agencies, including the Army, Police, and Civil Defence, had been deployed to the area through the coordination of the Chairman to prevent further attacks.

“In their usual pattern, the armed herdsmen struck and fled. Security personnel are now on the ground to forestall any recurrence.

“I was directed by the Local Government Chairman to ensure the evacuation of the corpses. He will also brief the Security Adviser to the Governor, after which he will engage community leaders to determine the cause of the attack,” he stated.

Also speaking, the Chairman of Gwer East Local Government Council, Mr. Timothy Adi, who visited the affected area, confirmed the development. He assured that security had been reinforced and that search-and-rescue operations were ongoing.

Meanwhile, Governor Hyacinth Alia has condemned the attack, describing it as barbaric and unacceptable.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, the Governor expressed deep sympathy to the affected families and reiterated his administration’s commitment to protecting lives and property.

Part of the statement read: “Governor Hyacinth Alia, strongly condemns the heinous attack carried out by suspected armed herdsmen on the peace-loving people of Mbalom in Gwer East LGA.

“The governor describes the barbaric act as unacceptable and a direct affront to the collective peace and security of the state.. He expresses deep sympathy to families affected by the attack and assures them that the government stands firmly with them in this difficult time,” the statement read.

The Governor also noted “with grave concern what appears to be a pattern of calculated and selective attacks in parts of the state, stressing that such acts of terror, though increasingly complex, will not be allowed to persist.

"He reiterates his unwavering resolve to confront and subdue all forms of criminality threatening the safety of Benue communities.”

The governor also commended security agencies, particularly the Nigeria Police Force, for their swift response and ongoing operations.

“He notes their assurance that they are on the trail of the perpetrators and will ensure their arrest and prosecution. He urges them to intensify efforts to prevent further occurrences and bring lasting relief to affected communities,” he said.

While acknowledging the challenges posed by recurring attacks, Governor Alia assured residents that his administration would not relent in strengthening security architecture and enhancing intelligence gathering.

He called on residents to remain calm, vigilant, and law-abiding, while supporting security agencies with credible information.

The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Udeme Edet could not be reached for comments.
