GEJ Plans to Replace "JEGA" with Prof Olufemi Mimiko, Now GEJ wana impose himself on Nigerian's by force but we #SayNoToProfMimiko |
Press Statement John Kerry Secretary of State Washington, DC February 7, 2015 The United States is deeply disappointed by the decision to postpone Nigeria’s presidential election, which had been scheduled for February 14. Political interference with the Independent National Electoral Commission is unacceptable, and it is critical that the government not use security concerns as a pretext for impeding the democratic process. The international community will be watching closely as the Nigerian government prepares for elections on the newly scheduled dates. The United States underscores the importance of ensuring that there are no further delays. As I reaffirmed when I visited Lagos last month, we support a free, transparent, and credible electoral process in Nigeria and renew our calls on all candidates, their supporters, and Nigerian citizens to maintain calm and reject election-related violence. http://omojuwa.com/2015/02/postponement-of-elections-in-nigeria-american-government-release-statement/ |
One of the Reasons Boko Haram was franticallly sustain has been delivered yesterday according to Jega, just because of the postponement of the election. |
Twenty one Resident Electoral Commissioners, RECs, of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, have rejected a proposal to postpone Nigeria’s general elections billed for February 14 and 28. In a vote conducted Saturday by the INEC chairman, Attahiru Jega, after he met with political parties and the civil society, 21 RECs said the elections should continue as planned while 16 others voted in support of a reschedule. Nigeria has 37 RECs, each for a state and the Federal Capital, Abuja. The outcome of the vote came as Nigerians await INEC’s decision on whether the elections are moved or not. After 17 political parties voted for a postponement as against 11 that argued for INEC to remain faithful to its time table, the mood across the land suggested that INEC will capitulate to a demand by military and security chiefs asking for a six weeks postponement on the presumed grounds that they have a special operations to we against the six year insurgency which appears to be spreading on a daily basis. Civil society leaders, organized in support of credible and transparent elections in Nigeria, otherwise called the Nigeria Civil Society Situation Room, reacted sharply blasting the security chiefs accusing them of fomenting a surreptitious coup against democracy. In their own consultative meeting with the INEC top brass, the Situation Room called for the resignation of military chiefs and security heads including the Police “on account of their inability to exercise their constitutional responsibility to secure lives and property at all times including during the elections.” Speaking for the group in its statement, Agianpe Ashang, a senior programme officer at the Policy and Legal Advocacy Centre, PLAC, said the action of the security chiefs “amounted to blackmail [to] arm-twist the Election Management Body away from its constitutional guaranteed function of conducting elections.” The group them asked Nigerians to defend their hard won struggle to entrench democracy in the country. Jibrin Ibrahim, a senior fellow at the Centre for Democracy and Development, CDD, in Abuja, who was at the meeting, said Mr. Jega told the meeting that security operatives informed INEC that they were commencing a six weeks special operations against Boko Haram insurgents in the north eastern corridors of the country and would rather not be distracted by the elections. The opposition All Progressives Congress, APC, has rejected any plan to postpone the election saying such calls are sponsored by President Goodluck Jonathan and the ruling party to stave their imminent defeat at the polls. The reasoning among civil society members align with popular enthusiasm for the election even in the north eastern regions where the insurgency is active. According to a political survey recently conducted by the NOI polls, analysis by geo-political zones revealed that the North-West (89%) and South-East (87%) regions accounted for the largest proportions of Nigerians who expressed optimism for voting in the 2015 general elections when compared to other regions, although a majority of residents in all the geo-political zones expressed optimism in voting in the 2015 general elections, with a minimum 76% (North Central). Also, respondents aged 46-60 and 18-21 years showed more optimism for voting in the 2015 elections than other age-groups. It is not clear what the commission’s eventual decision would be with the latest voting pattern by the RECs. Mr. Jega is expected to brief the media any moment from now. |

ABUJA, Nigeria (Reuters) - In late 2013, Nigeria's then central bank governor Lamido Sanusi wrote to President Goodluck Jonathan claiming that the state oil company had failed to remit tens of billions of oil revenues it owed the state. After the letter was leaked to Reuters and a local news site, Jonathan publicly dismissed the claim and replaced Sanusi, saying the banker had mismanaged the central bank's budget. A Senate committee later found Sanusi’s account lacked substance. Sanusi has since become Emir of Kano, the country's second highest Islamic authority, and has smoothed over relations with the president. He declined to discuss his earlier assertions. Before he was sacked, though, the central banker submitted to Nigeria’s parliament more than 300 pages of documentation in support of his claim. Reuters has reviewed that dossier, which offers one of the most comprehensive studies of waste, mismanagement and what Sanusi called “leakages” of cash in Nigeria’s oil industry. Detailed here, the dossier includes oil contracts, confidential government letters, private presidential correspondence and legal opinions. Documents and audio recordings, providing substantial evidence that major Peoples Democratic Party’s leaders planned and successfully rigged the gubernatorial elections in Ekiti State, and plotted a similar scenario in Osun in 2014, have emerged, SaharaReporters is reporting The audio recordings and affidavit were provided by Sagir Koli, a Captain in the 32nd Artillery Brigade stationed in Ekiti State, who has since fled the country for fear of retaliation. Capt. Koli recorded the conversation on 20th June 2014 when he was asked to accompany his Commanding Officer, Brigadier General Aliyu Momoh, to the meeting. The venue was held at Spotless Hotel in Ado-Ekiti. The 37-minute recording details the conversation between these men as they bribed Brigadier General Momoh with a promotion for his assistance in carrying out election fraud in Ekiti. In it, Obanikoro is clearly heard informing the group of men, “[I] am not here for a tea party, am on special assignment by the President.” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JU2Ap8dOxVc&feature=youtu.be |
Documents and audio recordings, providing substantial evidence that major Peoples Democratic Party’s leaders planned and successfully rigged the gubernatorial elections in Ekiti State, and plotted a similar scenario in Osun in 2014, have emerged, SaharaReporters is reporting. The audio recordings and affidavit were provided by Sagir Koli, a Captain in the 32nd Artillery Brigade stationed in Ekiti State, who has since fled the country for fear of retaliation. Capt. Koli recorded the conversation on 20th June 2014 when he was asked to accompany his Commanding Officer, Brigadier General Aliyu Momoh, to the meeting. The venue was held at Spotless Hotel in Ado-Ekiti. The audio recordings depict the meeting as being attended by the eventual “winner” of the election, Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti; Senator Iyiola Omisore; a man identified as Honorable Abdulkareem; the Minister for Police Affairs Caleb Olubolade; and Senator Musiliu Obanikoro who was at the time the Minister of State for Defence. Mr. Chris Uba came to Ekiti with huge stash cash and soldiers from the East to carry out the assignment. The 37-minute recording details the conversation between these men as they bribed Brigadier General Momoh with a promotion for his assistance in carrying out election fraud in Ekiti. In it, Obanikoro is clearly heard informing the group of men, “[I] am not here for a tea party, am on special assignment by the President.” SaharaReporters further received credible intelligence that President Goodluck Jonathan had instructed the Chief of Defense Staff, Alex Badeh, to use the army in arresting and intimidating opposition politicians before and during the election. The audio recording provides exact details of the plot, with the collaborators almost degenerating into physical combat. Authentication of Audio Recordings and Proof of Election Fraud The audio recordings were analyzed and authenticated by Guardian Consulting, an independent US-based security consulting company. According to a report authored by Guardian Consulting, also in the possession of SaharaReporters, the independent company used Forensic Voice Frequency Comparison technology to identify all voices on the recording with audio available in the public domain. The then Deputy Defense Minister, Obanikoro clearly states to General Momoh that he was not only sent to the meeting by President Jonathan, but “you can’t get a promotion without me sitting on top of your military council. If I am happy tomorrow night, the sky is your limit.” Governor Fayose revealed that he had already bribed an official of the Independent National Election Commission (INEC), the non-political commission charged with organizing elections in Nigeria, to bring copies of voter ballots with the INEC logo to him that day. Fayose, upset that his INEC contact was caught in traffic, narrated his day’s frustrations: “Where are we supposed to be collating the thing INEC gave to us? Soft copies we now printed? Why is my [INEC] contact not with [the ballots]…my contact man [was] sitting in the check point…it took me more than two hours to get this man.” As the plotters began to argue, Omisore, who was running for Governor of Osun State on the PDP ticket, tried to calm the room: “I would just say that we don’t have to argue so much, we have seen some lapses [today] yes. It’s just this evening, there is nothing happening now that we cannot contain before tomorrow morning.” Plans to Rig Elections in Favor of PDP The eyewitness testimony and sworn affidavit by Capt. Koli corroborates the audio recordings of the PDP officials’ plans to manipulate the Ekiti elections. The plotters devised several plans intended to bring about an unlawful victory for PDP candidates in Ekiti State races, including the forging of INEC ballots, the use of the military to facilitate access for PDP operatives and supporters, the creation of a list of APC members to be arrested, and the deployment of a Special Team of military personnel to prevent APC voters from reaching the polls. The PDP officials told General Momoh that those soldiers on election duty “must work hand-in-hand with the PDP agents” and ordered the arrest of selected APC stalwarts as that could “greatly assist the party during the election including DG campaign organization for Dr. Fayemi, Mr. Bimbo Daramola,” Capt. Koli said in his affidavit. General Momoh, confronted with criticism by the group, defended himself by saying that “we have done a lot of [APC] arrests.” It would be recalled that there were arrests of APC members in Ekiti during the period. It would also be recalled that many members of the security offices paraded around Ekiti in disguise. The PDP collaborators also demanded that the military block APC members’ access to the electorate and that moles should “be careful because the consequence will be severe.” Soldiers were instructed set up roadblocks leading to the polling stations and prevent APC supporters’ access. Additionally, vehicles and individuals with a special sticker labeled “National Security Task” were allowed movement anywhere, and were only distributed to PDP agents. General Momoh informed the group that there were “about 6 special teams. I have one strike force. I have almost forty soldiers after deployment,” evidently an organized system being used to manipulate voter turnout. Capt. Koli’s statement explained that based on these strategies, “they succeeded in rigging the Ekiti State election with victory in all the 16 Local Governing Authorities (LGAs). These really inspired them and they were with the euphoria that same would happen in Osun State.” Indeed, leading into the Osun State elections the Brigadier General posted there was told to take a three-week leave during the elections. His position was temporarily filled by General Momoh, who then repeated the same fraudulent tactics in Osun. Retaliation Against Captain Sagir Koli SaharaReporters was provided with additional evidence that proves the military retaliated against Capt. Koli when he released this information. Capt. Koli fled before he was arrested, but the military arrested, secretly detained, and chained his brother Adamu to a bed for nearly five months at the Adekunle Fanjuyi’s Cantonment. In an exclusive phone interview with from his hideout outside Nigeria, Capt. Koli told SaharaReporters that his brother was starved for periods of time and sometimes “fed worms.” Adamu was only released after a petition, which is also in possession of SaharaReporters, was submitted to the National Human Rights Commission by Barrister Chief K. Akinola Ajayi. The treatment of Capt. Koli’s brother was so poor during his illegal confinement that he had to be hospitalized due to malnutrition. SaharaReporters contacted Nigerian Defense spokesperson, General Chris Olukolade as well as Nigerian Army spokesperson, Col. SK Usman, for comment on this story. Both officials promised to get back to us but never did.

It is a given that President Goodluck Jonathan was voted into office through a popular mandate in 2011 that heralded the death of erstwhile President, Umaru Yar’ Adua. But after close to five years in Aso Rock, conducts and actions of the President leave much to be desired. The Goodluck Jonathan’s regime has disappointed the Nigeria populace to say the least, hence he should not return come 2015. The reasons are as follows: 1. CORRUPTION THRIVES It is generally agreed that the scourge called corruption is the biggest bane militating against the growth and development of the country, consequently one expect a well meaning President to tackle the menace of corruption headlong. But in the last 5years, the Jonathan Administration has massaged and breastfed corruption to high heavens. Is it the several missing funds, the massive sharing that reign supreme in the NNPC, the delay in getting rid of the erstwhile minister of Aviation, Stella Odua and the litany of Pension Scams pervading the polity. Are we forgetting something? Didn’t Jonathan campaign for corrupt element like Ayo Fayose? Of course we can’t forget the withdrawal of Abacha’s case even against the Supreme Court’s ruling, the president went further to lay credence to these assertions when he said stealing was not corruption. 2. LACK OF ELECTRICITY Many were of the opinion that if the Jonathan Administration could tackle the Power situation of Nigerians, then he would be celebrated. But that has not been the case. With billions of naira spent on the Power sector and the subsequent unbundling of the PHCN, Nigerians are still in darkness. What is it with the Power sector that we just can’t solve once and for all? President Jonathan promised stable power in December in 2013, later June 2014 and now we are in July. Do you have electricity in your domain? How long are we going to listen to unfulfilled promises? 3. TOO POLITICAL THAN A STATESMAN A popular quote says "politicians think of the next election, statesmen think of the next generation". Obviously President Jonathan does not believe in this. A president enmeshing himself in one political fight after another is not healthy for our politics. Jonathan aligning with the Jang faction as against Governor Amaechi that won an election is not Presidential. Is 16 greater than 19? During a campaign in Ekiti state, the President was quoted to have said: "I would develop Ekiti state, if Fayose wins the election." Is Jonathan not the President of Nigeria? 4. APPOINTMENTS AS COMPENSATION Political offices under the Jonathan Administration suddenly turned to a conduit pipe for compensating politicians. Bamanga Tukur was booted out due to the internal wrangling in the PDP. What did Jonathan do? He appointed Tukur as the Chairman of the Railway Corporation, less than 3 months later Tukur was made Ambassador at large. It is of note that Alhaji Tukur is in his eighties. Where are the young technocrats in this country? Must you compensate politicians with appointments even when they are not competent? 5. SECURITY SITUATION Nigeria has never been so unsafe since the birth of the Nation like it is presently. Bombings, killings, destruction are being record daily and the Military and indeed the Jonathan Government is hapless and helpless. Agreed, the current security challenges predated the administration, but he promised to curb the menace of Boko Haram, hence he was voted massively into office in 2011. The onus lie on him to tackle the madness called terrorism. Obviously he seems incapable. 6. THE CHIBOK INCIDENCE The fact remain that the Chibok girls had been in the hands of the sect for over 3 months, yet the President has not paid a visit to the family of the kidnapped Chibok girls. It took the coming of the Pakistani activist Malala Yussafzai to convince the President to do otherwise. Indecision you might want to say! Should such a figure remain as President? The President neglected families of kidnapped girls for more than 3 months. How insensitive! 7. BACK TO DEBT REGIME The President asked the National Assembly to approve the sum of 1billion US dollars as loan for the purchase of arms and ammunition to boost the fire-power of Nigerian Military in combating the scourge of Boko Haram. From 2010 to 2013 over 3trillion naira had been spent on security without any headway. Even the 2014 budget for security is in the tune of over 900billions of naira. So what is the rationale behind that decision? I thought the era of borrowing is long gone? Is it for 2015? The National Assembly should disregard such move in its entirety. ARE THESE REASONS NOT ENOUGH? |
COMMITTEE FOR THE PROTECTION OF PEOPLES MANDATE (CPPM) 10 Afolabi Lesi Street, Ilupeju, Lagos PRESS STATEMENT CALLS FOR POSTPONEMENT OF FEBRUARY 2015 GENERAL ELECTIONS AS A COUP AGAINST DEMOCRACY The Committee for the Protection of Peoples Mandate (CPPM) condemns in strong terms the irrational, irresponsible, unconstitutional, illegal, undemocratic, provocative, invitation to anarchy and treasonable calls in some quarters for the postponement of the 2015 general elections. We regard these calls and protest marches against the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as state sponsored, a threat to the Electoral Act, national peace, unity and security which is irresponsible and unacceptable. The dates for the election was scheduled in consonance with the provisions of the Electoral Act with regards to conduct of elections and resolutions of disputes before the swearing in of the winner. Thus, any attempt to illegally and unconstitutionally shift the elections on flimsy excuses as advanced in violation of the Electoral Act will not only be illegal but a coup against democracy which is treason. The electoral umpire INEC released the time table for the elections over a year ago and put in place machineries towards actualizing its successful conduct even in the face of challenges posed by anti democratic forces and so far, INEC has restated its commitment to that date by remaining focused in ensuring that the 2015 general elections is free, fair and credible elections. The political parties and other stakeholders have stepped up preparations in order to ensure a hitch free exercise. The international community have also played their part towards this process through moral and material support for a free, fair and credible election which is the culmination of the electoral process and so, the latest unpatriotic and undemocratic call is disturbing. The anti democratic, threat to national unity, peace and security calls for the postponement of the elections is highly suspicious because of the fact that just last year 2014, INEC conducted elections in states like Ekiti, Osun and some bye elections and none of these elections witnessed a call for its postponement on the grounds of likely disenfranchisement of the voters. Those elections were conducted based on existing parameters of voters register and it is a fact that not all the voters within the jurisdiction of the election collected their Permanent Voters Card (PVC), and not even all, who had their PVC actually voted on election day, which raises the suspicion that these calls are motivated by reasons other than for democracy and national interest and thus, should be condemned and rejected by lovers of peace and democracy. We are very glad that so far, INEC has remained on course towards delivering on its constitutional mandate to the Nigerian people by its aggressive distribution of the PVC nationwide and we must admonish that all hands must be on deck for a credible general elections. We must also commend state governments who have keyed into this national assignment through support for INEC and the electoral process and one can only hope that the Federal government will take a cue on responsibility in governance from the states who have taken the lead instead of acting like the proverbial ostrich with regards to the 2015 elections. Therefore in the light of the above, the Committee for the Protection of Peoples Mandate (CPPM) demands the following: 1. That the February 2015 general elections must hold as scheduled according to law. 2. That INEC must remain focused in delivering on its mandate by conducting the elections as scheduled. 3. That the Nigerian people must rally round INEC to succeed on its mandate. 4. That we say NO to unconstitutional postponement of the election under any guise. 5. That patriotic interests and groups like the NBA, NMA, NLC, TUC, Religious Groups and Faith Based Organizations, Civil Society Groups, Market men and women, Artisans, etc add their voice to this clarion call. 6. That the Nigerian electorates should go to their polling units, wards and other designated points to collect their PVC now! 7. An immediate investigation by the security agencies of this threat to the constitution and national security. Eternal vigilance is the watchword for democracy. |
So where is the proof? all I know is that #GMB is winning this election. |
All I know is that #GMB all the way. |
Cant stop Laughing.
