A diagnosis of chronic hepatitis B is one that which defies any medical cure science can provide at the moment. As opposed to ACUTE hep B infection, which the body's immune system may be able to clear in few months, CHRONIC hep B is one that has remained in the patient for at least 6months and continues to reside in the patients blood and liver. The problem here isn't that there is no immune response but just that the immune sytem cannot clear out the virus. The immune response within the liver attacks the virus but also damages liver cells in the process. When this immune response continues over a long period, the liver tries to replace damaged cells. The cell replacement is faulty because of scarring and leads to formation of multiple liver nodules -- called LIVER CIRRHOSIS. Liver cirrhosis over time could also lead a number of other pathologies, including HEPATOCELLuLAR. CARCINOMA (cancer). Now about tranmission, your friend should not be too puzzled about how he contracted hepB it is spread by -Se.xual intercourse -Hypodermic Needle sharing (IVDA) -Infected Tatoo needles -Tranfusion with infected blood and blood products -Infected barbers clippers He should ask his wife to get tested although, he should be too suprised if she is negative. Some individuals are more immuno-competent than others. She could have had the infection but cleard it out. It is unlikely he contracted it from his mistress whois negative anyway. Now the treatment for chronic HepB is palliative rather than definitive. Palliative in that he can be given antivirals eg tenofovir but these only slow the replication and do not eliminate the infection. Hopefully, a cure for chronic hep B is in the pipeline, though a vaccine already exists more than 30 years now. HepB transmission can be prevented by using a barrier during sex - condom. There are also antiviral creams which you may use in combination with that to further ensure safety. Contact totalhealthng21@gmail.com for more info or click our signature below. |
Poster Some people just have higher metabolism than others do. Whether or not that is your case, most underweight individuals ie having a Body mass index of 20 or less are in a state of NEGATIVE NITROGEN BALANCE. A negative nitro balance simply means you excrete more nitrogen from your body than you retain. The reverse is when you retain more nitrogen than u excrete - called POSITIVE NITROGEN BALANCE. Nitrogen is found in protein, the building blocks of the body necessary for cell replacement and multiplication. Nitrogen is excreted thru sweat, urine and faeces but mainly thru the urine. The convert your metabolism to positive nitro balance you must not only increase your protein intake, you must also ensure your body uses it. This can be done by putting the body under certain kinds of strains and exercises. You must also ensure the extra protein you consume is not used by your body to generate energy, hence you need extra carbohydrate intake as well. totalhealthng21@gmail.com |
A UK-wide study of mobile phones planned to coincide with Global Handwashing Day, found that one in six carries fecal matter, probably because their owners are not washing their hands with soap after using the toilet. Researchers said some of the phones were contaminated with E. coli, fecal bacteria that can cause stomach upsets and serious food poisoning such as in the fatal O157 outbreak in Germany in June. Once they are on hands and surfaces, fecal bacteria can survive for hours, especially in warm rooms away from sunlight. The germs are easily transferred from hands onto door handles, food and, as this study shows, mobile phones, from where they can transfer to other people. Researchers from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine and Queen Mary, University of London took 390 samples from mobile phones and hands in 12 cities around the UK. They analyzed the samples in the lab and they also questioned the participants about their handwashing habits. The results also showed that Britons tend to lie about their hygiene habits: although 95% of the people they surveyed said they washed their hands with soap where possible, 92% of phones and 82% of hands were contaminated with bacteria. Dr Val Curtis of the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine is a hygiene expert and campaign leader for Global Handwashing Day. She told the press: "This study provides more evidence that some people still don't wash their hands properly, especially after going to the toilet." "I hope the thought of having E. coli on their hands and phones encourages them to take more care in the bathroom -- washing your hands with soap is such a simple thing to do but there is no doubt it saves lives," she added. Global Handwashing Day is held every year on 15 October, so this year it is on Saturday. The campaign aims to make washing hands with soap an automatice human activity, a habit that is deeply embedded in daily life. Supported by a coalition of public and private sector bodies, it promotes a series of worldwide events and initiatives to encourage hand washing with soap in homes, schools, workplaces and communities. The coalition includes: the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine; Queen Mary, University of London; GlaxoSmithKline; Sanofi Pasteur MSD; School Councils UK; The Ideas Foundation; Wellcome Trust; and Initial Washroom Solutions, whose Technical Manager, Peter Barratt, said: "Today's research is shocking and demonstrates the importance of effective hygiene. It is critical that people take hand hygiene seriously and that businesses offer their employees and customers a practical way of protecting themselves to help combat the spread of illness." The city with the biggest proportion of phones carrying fecal bacteria was Birmingham (41% of phones tested), while London had the highest proportion of hands testing positive for E. coli. It also appears that the further north they went, the more bacteria they found on phones and hands, with Glasgow in Scotland having the highest levels, which were 9 times higher than in Brighton, the most southerly region of the survey. (Although it is interesting that the pattern shows a discernible tendency towards dirtier hands and phones in the north than in the south of the UK, a statistician would probably argue that the sample sizes are not large enough to say with confidence that these patterns are more than mere chance. You can see the charts of results here.) The tests also showed that people who had fecal bacteria on their hands were three times more likely to have them on their phones as well. Dr Ron Cutler, of Queen Mary, University of London, said that while there was variation across the country, the survey reveals it is a nationwide problem, with E. coli present on phones and hands throughout the UK. "People may claim they wash their hands regularly but the science shows otherwise," said Cutler. |
mpeg:Poster , there is an antiretroviral protocol designed to stop the virus a few hours after infection but I assume you've passed that window of chance for killing the virus. Get yourself tested in a few weeks from now, if it turns out negative then you should take extra precaution in future. For example you could use antiviral creams and lotions applied to your penis/vagina/anal canal a few minutes before intercourse with or without barrier methods, whichever you prefer. Contact us if you wish to get this and further decrease the chances of hiv infection and other STIs |
Bloating and general discomfort are not unusual when using hormonal contraception. See your family planning clinic so they can review your contraception and change it to something with less side effects |
Cravings for sugary drinks is not something the OP would be able to stop by choice. Coupled with excessive toiletting and general body tiredness, he should be suspecting parasitic infections Most parasites rely on sugar for their survival and reproduction, they use up your own store of energy making you tired and forcing u to consume sugary foods to replace the lost energy. In turn as soon as u do so they use up the energy again and vicious cycle continues. Eg Candida, blood flukes, various intestinal worms |
Lets start with ur remaining symptoms, after taking the antibiotics. -Feeling tired and appetite loss: Now remember you've been taking ''anti-biotics'' which i assume youve done religiously for at least week without missing your shceduled doses. Anti-biotics are exactly what theyre called ie anti = against; biotic = Life. The drugs kill microbes in bllod and tissue but that doesnt mean they do not exert similar 'antibiotic' effect on normal and healthy 'host' cells. Youre bound to feel tired and run-down after many days taking these drugs. Your doctor probably believed your appetite would be affected, hence the multivitamin prescription. - Stomach flattening after defecation: Were you expecting the stomach to enlarge after taking a dump ? My advice ? Since your fever appears to be gone, i suspect the antibiotics have worked at ridding you of the typhoid. Your other symptoms as I said, are just sequelae of the antibiotic treatment. Finish the multivitamins, eat fresh fruit and exercise. Youll be back to your old self. If any other matter arise you can use the link to get in touch. |

severe painful episodes of abdominal pain may not originate in the 'intestines' but could also lead one to suspect passage of kidney stones or gall stones. Try to rule out these with the appropriate tests before you consider other causes. |

News National News National News Originally published September 07, 2011 Walter Fauntroy, Feared Dead in Libya, Returns Home—Guess Who He Saw Doing the Killing It wasn't the Libyans by Valencia Mohammed Former U.S. Congressman Walter Fauntroy, who recently returned from a self-sanctioned peace mission to Libya, said he went into hiding for about a month in Libya after witnessing horrifying events in Libya's bloody civil war -- a war that Fauntroy claims is backed by European forces. Fauntroy's sudden disappearance prompted rumors and news reports that he had been killed. In an interview inside his Northwest D.C. home last week, the noted civil rights leader, told the Afro that he watched French and Danish troops storm small villages late at night beheading, maiming and killing rebels and loyalists to show them who was in control. "'What the hell' I'm thinking to myself. I'm getting out of here. So I went in hiding," Fauntroy said. The rebels told Fauntroy they had been told by the European forces to stay inside. According to Fauntroy, the European forces would tell the rebels, "'Look at what you did.' In other words, the French and Danish were ordering the bombings and killings, and giving credit to the rebels. "The truth about all this will come out later," Fauntroy said. While in Libya, the former congressman also said he sat down with Libyan leader Moammar Gaddafi for a one-on-one conversation. Gaddafi has ruled Libya since 1969, when he seized power in a military coup. Fauntroy said he spoke with Gaddafi in person and that Gaddafi assured him that if he survived these attacks, the mission to unite African countries would continue. "Contrary to what is being reported in the press, from what I heard and observed, more than 90 percent of the Libyan people love Gaddafi," Fauntroy said. "We believe the true mission of the attacks on Gaddafi is to prevent all efforts by African leaders to stop the recolonization of Africa." Several months ago, Gaddafi's leadership faced its biggest challenge. In February, a radical protest movement called the Arab Spring spread across Libya. When Gaddafi responded by dispatching military and plainclothes paramilitary to the streets to attack demonstrators, it turned into a civil war with the assistance of NATO and the United Nations. Fauntroy's account could not be immediately verified by the Afro and the U.S. State Department has not substantiated Fauntroy's version of events. Fauntroy was not acting as an official representative of the U.S. in Libya. He returned to Washington, D.C. on Aug. 31. When rumors spread about Fauntroy being killed he went underground, he told the Afro in an interview. Fauntroy said for more than a month he decided not to contact his family but to continue the mission to speak with African spiritual leaders about a movement to unify Africa despite the Arab uprisings. "I'm still here," Fauntroy said, pointing to several parts of his body. "I've got all my fingers and toes. I'm extremely lucky to be here." After blogs and rumors reported Fauntroy had been killed, the congressional office of Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) announced on Aug. 24, that she had been in touch with authorities who confirmed Fauntroy was safely in the care of the International Committee of the Red Cross. Inside his home, Fauntroy pulled out several memoirs and notebooks to explain why he traveled to Libya at a time when it was going through civil unrest. "This recent trip to Libya was part of a continuous mission that started under Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. when he gave me orders to join four African countries on the continent with four in the African Diaspora to restore the continent to its pre-colonial status," Fauntroy said. "We want Africa to be the breadbasket of the world," he said. "Currently, all the major roads in every country throughout Africa lead to ports that take its natural resources and wealth outside the continent to be sold to the European markets." at the hell' I'm thinking to myself.
