missdivineprove:
The Effect Of The Expensive Concept Of Marriage We Have Adopted.

Honestly, I don’t want to post this because I’m not that good in writing, but let me give this a try.

I’ve heard stories from my grand ma how marriage was done during their time. According to her stories, it was simple, interesting and desiring. Quite different from what we do now.

Although I’ve heard people saying marriage ought to be difficult so that the man can value/appreciate the woman, but I doubt if this is true anyway.

Based on my observation, these are the effect of the kind of expensive marriage concept we have adopted. It seems it has enslaved us.

1. High rate of pre marital sex

I am not justifying pre marital sex, but I’m sure the rate of pre marital sex wouldn’t be so high if every marriageable bachelor/spinster can easily get married.
Like that kind of Romeo and Juliet kind of wedding lol.

2. Late marriage

Apart from those who are financial capable, but have no interest in marriage or haven’t met someone of their choice, majority of the youth who are of marriageable age have no means to get married.

3. Marring the wrong person

Sometimes, most especially ladies ended up marring someone who can afford their marriage rite and not someone they really desire to be with.
That’s why some people are married to someone else while they love another person.

4. Poverty

How can a young man keeping working hard, saving his money only for him to spend all that in one day all in the name of marriage? The worst part, after everything, he’ll start all over again but this time, it’s going to get more difficult because more responsibilities have come in.

5. Over rating Marriage

I don’t know how to put this, it’s so annoying the way some takes marriage. Some see marriage as the greatest achievement of their life. Some people’s dream, aspiration, career all come to an end immediately they’re married. Maybe because the cost of marriage is expensive and demanding so it’s being over rated. Knowing that there’s more to life than just marriage

What is your own opinion about this?
Do you think it’s ok so that men could value women more?

If you think it’s not ok, what way forward can you suggest so it could be simpler for everyone to easily achieve without committing crime?
Do you think the media have a role to play in this in educating the people?

Please overlook my typing errors and don't quote my write up. thank you
I will love to post this on my blog listwand.com... Just want to use this medium to ask for permission.

Romance › Overindulgence: How Watching Porn Is Actively Ruining Your Life by tstx(op): 8:58am On Mar 07, 2018
Pornography has long been a staple of young men’s lives, and it has evolved over time. It has gone from hidden issues of erotic magazines under beds to an easily accessible, multifaceted industry on the Internet.

Right now in our world, porn is easier to access than ever before. Our generation also has access to unlimited photos and entertainment through social media. But what people don’t know is, overindulging in porn has proven to affect the human brain. Continues reading and you will find out how.
Overindulgence: How Watching Porn Is Actively Ruining Your Life

1. It Rewires Your Brain.
According to a study by Cambridge University, researchers have found “compulsive porn users react to porn cues in the same way that drug addicts react to drug cues.”

How it works is the brain has something called the reward circuit, which developed during simpler hunter-gatherer times to produce dopamine for naturally rewarding things like food, sex and connection.

However, there are extreme versions of these rewards, like high-calorie foods or a bombardment of boobs, that provide too much dopamine and can override our natural satiation mechanisms.

The reaction that triggers in your brain from porn is extremely similar to the reaction from drug abuse.

What happens is, your brain has a molecular switch that creates an excessive repetitive cycle, promoting a craving to continue receiving that reward.
This extreme binge cycle of dopamine received through porn produces the same side effects drug addicts have: a numbed pleasure response, hyper-reactivity and the erosion of will power, as your frontal cortex changes.

2. You Build a Tolerance
Like anything that produces pleasure, porn can be addictive. And like anything addictive, you can build up a tolerance for it.
Heavy porn consumption is an arousal addiction, in which you need more or different ways to keep receiving the same high from a dopamine release.

In his TED talk, physiology teacher, Gary Wilson, explains that once you’ve seen the same porn over and over again, your brain wants something different, merely for novelty, shock or surprise.
That’s when you see yourself downloading more porn. It starts out with a man and a woman, and next thing you know, you see yourself downloading extreme porn.

It is known as the Coolidge effect, and dopamine levels surge for each novel image the viewer sees. Every new babe on the screen provides a new blast of dopamine.

This is how high-speed Internet porn varies from porn of the past: You can receive a new dopamine blast with a mouse click, constantly providing yourself with more and more pleasure.
And just like with all addictions, you may be in over your head before you know it.
Porn allows you to explore all of your curiosities, including ones you never imagined being interested in.

The problem with porn addiction is there is no one to see the damage, no one to say whether what you are doing is right or wrong.
This is because people don’t really know what you’re going through unless they snoop your browser history.
One wipe of your search history covers your tracks, and your dirty little secret is safe.

3. It Dilutes Your Real Sex Life
In his TED talk, Wilson describes the differences between real sex and porn. Masturbation and porn focuses on isolation, “voyeurism, clicking, searching, multiple tabs fast-forwarding” and “constant novelty.” while real sex focuses on “courtship, touching, being touched, smells, pheromones, emotional connection and interaction with a real person.”
Over time, your brain adapts to porn because, it becomes exposed to it much more often than real sex.

Excessive abuse can not only change your brain, but it can change your male organ (Pen1s).
That same Cambridge University study found “over 50 percent of subjects (average age: 25) had difficulty achieving erections with real partners, yet could achieve erections with porn.”
Erectile dysfunction is no longer your grandfather’s problem; it’s yours.

Well Rwanda is a majority Christian nation with 95% of the entire population being christian. And if they are doing this it must be for a very good reason.

The rules regarding building safety and noise pollution are too important to be flouted or overlooked. Let the respective churches adjust to the rules and relocate when necessary. Govt should also give enough time before implementation.

Christianity Etc › Rwanda Shuts Down Over 700 Churches Over Safety Issues And Noisemaking by tstx(op):
Over 700 churches in Rwanda have been forced to suspend operations following a government crackdown on their activities. These churches, mostly Pentecostal failed to meet minimum standards as they were found to have failed with building regulations in terms of legal status and safety.

The crackdown on the 714 churches was carried out by respective urban district authorities in partnership with the Rwanda Governance Board, local Rwandan media, the New Times reported. In an interview on Monday, Justus Kangwagye, the Head of Political Parties and Civil Society Department at the Rwanda Governance Board said most of the affected churches were asked to suspend operations until they meet the standards expected of them.

“Worshiping should be done in an organised way and meet minimum standards. Exercising your freedom of worship should not encroach on other people’s rights. They have been asked to halt operations until they meet the requirements.

“For instance, if the infrastructure is deemed likely to cause danger to those worshipping, it is obvious that it fails to meet the requirements,” he was quoted by The New Times .

The heads of these places of worship have also been warned against making noise that will disturb the peace in residential neighbourhoods.
In terms of legal issues, Kangwagye explained that before establishing a church, one must have a temporary certificate which expires after twelve months. He, however, stressed that one must make an application for formalising their operations within nine months of opening before the expiry of the temporary certificate.

The news of the shut down of these churches has drawn divided opinions among residents in Kigali. While some believe the move will protect the general public, others felt that the churches involved should have been given ample time to fulfil those requirements or relocate to other areas.

Global anti-corruption watchdog, Transparency International (TI), has again ranked Nigeria low in its 2017 Corruption Perception Perception Index (CPI) released on Wednesday. The latest ranking has Nigeria in the 148th position out of 180. The country, according to the CPI, scored 28 out 100, a figure lower than the average in the Sub-Sharan region. CPI score relates to perceptions of the degree of corruption as experienced by business people and analysts and ranges between 100 (highly clean) and 0 (highly corrupt).

Nigeria's latest placement indicates that the country has not made progress in its fight against graft, despite claims by the Muhammadu Buhari Presidency that it is making a headway. In the 2016 rankings, Nigeria scored 28. In 2015, it scored 26. The year before that, it scored 25. In 2014, the country scored 27 and 25 in 2013.

In 2012, the country's score was 27 out of 100. According to TI, higher levels of corruption are common in countries where there is media and civil society repression.

It explained that majority of countries are moving too slowly in their anti-corruption efforts, saying that many countries have made little to no progress in the last six years.

"Even more alarming, further analysis of the index results indicates that countries with the lowest protections for press and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) also tend to have the worst rates of corruption," said TI in a statement.

This latest CPI, said TI,found that more than two-thirds of countries scored below 50, with an average score of 43.

"Over the last six years, several countries significantly improved their CPI score, including Côte d’Ivoire, Senegal and the United Kingdom, while several countries declined, including Syria, Yemen and Australia.

Health › Infant Mortality: Nigeria 11th In Global Ranking – UNICEF by tstx(op): 9:23am On Feb 22, 2018
A new report by the United Nations Children Fund has placed Nigeria in the 11 th position in global ranking where newborn babies die due to lack of assistance during delivery , poverty , conflict and weak institutions.

The organisation in the report obtained by THE PUNCH in Jos on Tuesday , said that, although , the situation in Nigeria is improving , the progress rate should be increased if the country must attain the Sustainable Development Goals.

The report said, “ Eight of the 10 most dangerous places ( where babies are ) to be born are in sub -Saharan Africa , where pregnant women are much less likely to receive assistance during delivery due to poverty, conflict and weak institutions.

“ With the newborn mortality rate of 29 deaths per 1 , 000 births, the global estimates rank Nigeria as the 11 th highest on newborn deaths.
“ In the recent Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey – MICS , conducted by the Federal Government of Nigeria in 2016 / 17 , the rate of newborn deaths per 1000 births is 37 . This national average hides the differences between the 36 states and the slow progress in some of them . ”

The report came barely one month after an alarming revelation by UNICEF Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist , Maureen Zubie -Okolo , during a recent two-day media dialogue on data-driven reporting using MICS held in Enugu that, “ Nigeria has one of the highest childhood mortalities in the world. ”

The Enugu event was organised by the Child Rights Act Information Bureau of the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture, in collaboration with UNICEF.

The UNICEF Representative in Nigeria, Mohammed Fall, in his reaction to the report, said many children in Nigeria were being deprived of adequate health care .
