what i now have is the jdk-6u2-windows-i586-p.exe. is this not what i need?

if i go the the command prompt (start->run, then type cmd, then type javac, i get "Javac is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

there is javac.exe in the directory even when i used search from my start up menu, i see a lot of javac.exe even as a folder.

@seun is the java SDK not included in the jdk-6u2-windows-1586-p.exe ?

Na Wah o!. i have tried every thing i can yet its still not working. this is my java bin directory C:\Java\jdk1.6.0_01. i have placed it in my path i have even tried both the beginning and at the end yet, it still displays "javac is not recognize as blah blah blah. realy don't know what to do.

don't know if its because i changed my directory from C:\program files\java\jdk1.6.0_01 to C:\java\jdk1.6.0_01 during my installation for both the JDE and the JRE. please i need Help on this. nairaland gurus please help me out i really want to do this.

if i type java in my command prompt it will display series of information. but, if i type javac it tells me this giberish story javac is not recognized as an internal or external command even after adding the C:\j2sdk1.5.0_04\bin; please i want someone to help me please .

with my strong desire to be a programmer in Java specifically, i followd some thread on this forum (very good) and i was told that to begin programming in Java you need two things viz:

1 A Java Software Edition and
2 An IDE (NETBEANS OR ECLIPSE) or for a start a text Editor(notepad or textpad)

following this information, i bought JAVA(TM) SE DEVELOPMENT KIT 6 UPDATE 2 and NETBEANS 6.8 since i find it difficult downloading them. i then installed both on my system successfully. my problem now is

when i try to run a program from my command prompt after typing and saving it in my text editor (notepad), it displays "Javac is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. i don't know if my installation is wrong or i need to configure my paths but what ever the case may be, am pleading seriously, i need a professional to please guide me from the beginning i.e from installation, configuration and anything else that i need to set so my program's can Run successfully.

i already understand some few things in java though, but my headache is this "Javac" thing displaying "Javac is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. it really knows how to make me unhappy. please i need help. even when i type javac in my command prompt it displays same thing.

God bless you and your knowledge. i am a programmer, though a beginner. please i want to ask if i can follow this forum working with the examples you've placed using JAVA SE and NETBEANS IDE. its the one i have installed on my system and its what am programming with. keep it up guyz there is future for young programmers.

what likely could be the cut-off mark for sciences this year? and what was the cut-of mark for last year? what i mean is the departmental cut of mark after the putme?

@ emmanugo, how did you check it, did you buy a scratch card or what? if yes, how much and where?

for those who are writing today/wrote today. kindly post your experiences with regards to time given, nature of question, was calculator allowed?

please i need help o, i got 215 in my jamb and am going in for geology in unical, am from rivers state and want to change from unical to uniben. i really dont know which to take. can anyone suggest what federal school that i can easily get admission into the department of geology?.

i also will like to know what is the cut off mark for geology in uniben and unical and also, if there are any other school that will be better.

TRULY GOD answers prayers and faith works as well. my jamb that was withheld has been released after my prayers and faith. am so happy though i scored 215.

i don't know my stand as the cut off marks has not been declared yet, but what ever it is, i know that this is my year. that same prayer and faith i had on my jamb will see me through in JESUS NAME AMEN.

TO all my fellow nairalanders who have not seen their result i just want you to do two things continually and you will see your result, pray and have faith on God, believe it and it will come to pass. try it and see.

It is good to have pals who wants to enroll into unical. well, am a jambite also and it will be nice if we keep updating ourselves with happenings going on, on the campus, like pume date,past question type,the way in which the question is been set, tutorials (if any). cut off marks for each department .etc.



for those whose result are still "withheld". and choose unical,just continue to pray and have faith, God will see us through.

@uche, from info gathered your score can give you an edge. just prepare hard for the pume. as you know already medicine is a competitive course. so just keep it up(the scores).
