My pick was Sneijder. He was the midfield genius of the treble winning Inter team. He was also the midfield genius of the Dutch side that reached the finals. Sneijder was also one of the World Cup scorers.

If not Sniejder, it should have been Forlan who was the highest goal scorer in the Europa League and clearly the best player of the World Cup.

The difference between Podolski not cutting it at Bayern and the German national team is the class of attackers.

Giroud or Welbeck will not cut it against the likes of Gomez, Klose, Muller etc. But Welbeck? That is a joke.
