Most of you only believe in your pastor that’s why people who live here don’t come to share their experiences. I am way better in Nigeria than here I have lived here for 3 years and just waiting for few things and moved back home or move to the US and come here once a while. You won’t understand. Yeah everyone situation isn’t the same , you can say nigeria is not safe but people get killed here too, students get shot to death, people die everyday. If you have something serious going for you in Nigeria or you think earning 3000 dollars a month after tax here is better and after expenses you are left with just about 400 dollars, then make your choice. I work as a service technician in a tech company earning 24 cad per hour . I studied here, working full time now, monthly earnings supposed to be 3840 cad , after tax and some deductions like Ei , employment insurance incase of job loss, CPP , and other deductions, I am left with a little above 3100 cad. After expenses only about 400 dollars left . Car insurance here a month goes from between 150 to 300 dollars or even more. Rent $2400 add other bills.

I own houses back home with tenants before I came here , here if I fail to go to work a day I and my family will be kicked out of the apartment. The struggle we go through here isn’t worth it for us. We are not struggling before coming here. It all depends on your situation before leaving Nigeria. I have a thriving business in Nigeria, I thought I would be able to make a lot more money which was why I and my family made the move but was disappointed and sharing this with you is for you to either learn before making your own decisions but most Nigerians will never learn. We haven’t recovered a dime we spent coming here due to huge bills and was already thinking of moving to the US once we get what we are waiting for. It cost is roughly 55 million moving my family here and that was a great mistake we made and only hoping for the best now.

Thank you for you contribution. As much as a lot of people here may see the negativity in this, myself on the other hand do not. I am taking away this information to be better prepared for the road ahead. As other people have mentioned, different people have different path to life and i do believe that as well. I have many friends that relocated and are doing well, while others, not so well. But I want to let you know that i appreciate your contribution and also see some truth in what you've said.

Peace

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: NCDMB 2020 Oil and Gas EH & GT Jobs by tukzyeazy: 2:50pm On Oct 12, 2022
And just like that the curtain falls on this recruitment. Started out so promising but ended very subtly and shrouded in so much secrecy. Well, however it was, merit or otherwise, congratulations to the very lucky FEW. I estimate that these guys may have not selected up to a 100 persons both (GT and EH) for this exercise. Certainly not the end of the road for anyone, we keep pushing even though the country throws different challenges at us on a daily. Lesson to be learnt, whatever you do in this country be the BEST of the BEST of the BEST. If you have no connection, it should be double of that. Everything in this country is highly competitive due to massive demands for limited supplies and the scary thing is that the population is growing continuously at a geometric rate. In the next 3-5 decades we may hit the 'billi' mark. Survival of the fittest y'all.

All is well that ends well.

I applied as an EH. My experience wasn't a pleasant one. My panel constituted of really elderly persons 3 females(Mamas) and 2 Men(Papas). I was taken aback immediately i got in. They were not even smiling not even when they had just resumed from lunch. Started with 3 situational/behavioral questions which i think i answered comfortably as i was able to relate to work experience, then 2 technical questions(with sub questions) which was rather random(almost abstract) and not related to my CV work experience, i answered fairly, i think, then another question on NNPC; a difficult one. I was asked to mention 5 somethings of NNPC operations(Not subsidiaries), i could only come up with one top of the hat, another technical question which i just mumbled the answer and then HSE question with 3 sub-questions. I answered like 60% correctly. In total had 8 questions with like several sub-questions.
Baring a miracle, i think it is curtains for me on this one sad sad sad sad. Wish everyone the very best.

Well, this is curtain falls. They really didn't have to linger this long to close the recruitment. We will all make it to the top someday.

What will be, what will not be...doubts, speculations, assertions et al. My 2 cents on this is, as much as I don't want to believe that NLNG are keeping the waitlisted as replacement for those who were selected and will reject the offer or fail to show up at the resumption date, that however is my speculation. If by the end of this month, assuming all new intakes has resumed, and we don't get any form of a mail, I am guessing we still in consideration. That being said I am still hopeful regardless and urge my fellow waitlisted not to despair; regardless of the outcome. We didn't come this far to lose, we would be settled one way or the other. Cheers.

When will this recruitment come to a close please? If there are 70+ persons already selected, what plans do they have for those waitlisted, if any? It'd be totally unfair if regret mails are being sent after such a painful 4 year wait. Although they are not obligated to recruit as it was clearly stated in the mails. I sure do hope/pray that there is light at the end of this tunnel.

Why so much silence on this thread? No snippet of information whatsoever? From old and new recruits, No?

2funkyy:

What you're saying is very correct for those who did the nlng graduate trainee recruitment they will understand,it was on this same nairaland we gathered and shared all our knowledge funny thing is they told us not to share cos it will be a disadvantage to us, we didnt listen many of us passed the interview,so they had to increase their pass mark,so those with higher scores got the job. Truth is as much as we all want the best, everyone is in a competition for the job, and the test is to cut people off for the next stage.

You don't mean to say! Are you saying the Legendary NLNG GT recruitment has finally ended? And truth be said, discussing the dpr test with others yet to have written definitely puts those who have written at a disadvantage especially as they are the same questions verbatim. My gut feeling does tell me that this dpr test/recruitment is a mere formality though. But time will tell, i guess.
