Good morning,please i need someone to advice me with this,i have an international passport but it has expired,my dad ask me to do affidavit for change of surname and apply for a new passport because someone told him the cost of changing the surname on passport is like 150,000 naira......hope if i do affidavit for change of surname and apply for a new passport hope It will work out and hope it will not affect all my certificate e.g my school certificate, in anyway

I am same situation as yourself but I am in the UK and the process is just very hard especially for folks that do not live in London or have plenty of time to waste...

The process of renewal of a lost passport is far more difficult than getting a new one - reporting to the Police in the UK means nothing as they do not link with the Nigerian system and they are really not that bothered with other passports. Moreover, I think I actually lost mine at MMA on the very first time that I used the passport - it was probably stolen during the palaver of the being checked by immigration and other hangers-on or was pinched (pick-pocketed) on my way to the car park by those annoying folks that follow you around for currency exchanges and/or help with luggage. It might even have been retained by one of the checkers - MMA hassle! Passport now expired anyway!

Anyway, the Nigerian Embassy ask for so many things that I will not be able to supply easily - so not worth getting another passport in the UK. I will travel with a VISA and renew passport in Nigeria - more expensive but hey ho; will try to make the money back by working and not wasting it on travelling to London and missing work/pay...

* Finally back to your situation: I do not think it is wise to apply for a new passport as a First Time applicant without telling them about the lost passport... The system should find out anyway but then this is the Nigerian system where an adult passport expires after just 5 years and you have to go back do more biometrics - hello! The biometrics do not change - so why are we just being so ignorant in Nigeria?[i][/i]

Whichever option you choose, it might also be wise to file for a police report and keep. So that you will be covered if the lost passport shows up at a wrong place (crime scene?). Unless if you are sure it was destroyed when it got "lost".

But if you feel you need to start on a very low key, then you need to seek the help of those women selling catfish to direct you to their distributor, then when to get to him, you seek for help. The only problem is in Nigeria, nobody wants to do anything for free you will still need to pay for tutorials and training but I bet you when you start applying them to your business, it's gonna boom like money rituals

I completely my youth service last year and i don't know the business to venture in.I've been submitting my CV for jobs online but have not gotten a job yet ,I've been sitting at home since then....so i feel venturing into a business will be a best ideal.....please your suggestion is highly needed as for a business to venture in with 100k.Thanks
