And if you don't know, that was written by Apostle Paul and as if that's not enough Apostle Peter also emphasized here: Whose adorning, let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;but let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.

I wouldn't be surprise if you come up with a different interpretation but the fact is 'the letter killeth but it is the Spirit that giveth life' let me say it differently 'the letter confuses but it is the Spirit illuminates'. The question is which spirit interprets the word to you? Is it the Holy Spirit? or another spirit? or the spirit of the antichrist? If it is the Holy Spirit, then you will realise that using of earrings and the likes is wrong. Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ says He has many things to say to us but we can't bear them now(i.e at our initial stage of accepting Him as our Lord and Saviour) but when He (Holy Spirit- the Spirit of truth)is come,He will teach us many things. If the Holy Spirit has really worked on you, you will love God to the point that you wouldn't want to tamper with His design. What message are you passing across, are you saying He is not a perfect God? I can go on and on but let me leave you to Holy Spirit to do His perfect work. Your story is incomplete. You never mentioned whether you fell or not. Be that as it may, i must tell you that you weren't wise enough to have gone to a sister's hostel not to talk of sitting on her bed. When we caution brothers against too much familiarity with sisters they think otherwise. The truth is that the flesh is not born again but the spirit, yes God's grace in Christ Jesus is sufficient but He warns us to be as wise as the serpent and gentle as the dove. Apostle Peter also emphasizes on the need for us be vigilant and sober for our adversary the devil as a roaring lion walketh about seeking whom he may devour. We all face temptation from the opposite sex every day and God gives us grace to say NO but we shouldn't take the grace of God for granted.
