HealthWhy You Wake Up Tired by tutubranch(op): 10:10pm On Sep 25, 2013
It's bed time and you are probably thinking of catching some sleep already. But before you sleep, here are things to note so that you do not wake up tired and groggy. Waking up refreshed is a great way to start out the day on the right foot. You should feel refreshed by the time you wake up tomorrow with these tips:

Prepare for Bed Time: If you like to brush your teeth twice daily, please do so immediately after your meal. If you have a nightie, please wear it. If your bed is not well laid, please lay it. All in all, make sure you do not end up sleeping in your work clothes or in tight underwear...or on all the stuff you have on your bed.

Work or Sleep? Choose One: You probably have left-over work from the office and would want to sleep a little late. Plan what time you want to be off from that sit or couch in the sitting room and on your bed, sleeping. You can have a plan B, in case you don't get to finish the assignment, would you want to wake up earlier than usual to continue? But all in all, make sure you don't sleep over-night on a couch, at a table, or on the rug!

Avoid late-night meals: Yes...snacks are always nice, especially when you are staying up late. But they have a way of making your mouth feel sticky, contributing to your drowsy state when you wake up. Heavy meals late at night also do what they know how to do best-make you feel heavy, too heavy to stand up!

Are you depressed? Cheer Up! I'm sure you're wondering what depression has good to do with early-morning tiredness. But really...if you were depressed before you slept, chances are that you'd be too reluctant to face the challenges of the following day...and so, you term it "tiredness". To help you, just think of how many people will like to have you job....!

Avoid medication hang-overs: Certain medications that cause drowsiness can linger until the next morning. Avoid taking such drugs as much as you can, or check with your doctor to see if you can adjust the dosage or change medications.

Have a sleep body clock: Let not your sleep schedule be erratic. It is easier for your body to adjust to one sleep schedule, say 11pm to 5am than for it to keep adjusting to several. Once you wake up at a particular time for so long, your body gets adapted to this system that it even wakes up by itself without an alarm, ready to go into full swing.

Now, that we have said all these...the only other important thing to note is that even though you wake up tired, you should be disciplined enough to get up and get prepare for the day, even while your system is still booting. Snoozing is never an option...the more you snooze, the more tired you get and of course, the more queries you face!

HealthCry Of Joy: Deaf Child Hears For The First Time After Surgery (pictures) by tutubranch(op): 12:03pm On Sep 25, 2013

What a day for this young boy when he receives the biggest joy of his life! The day he could finally hear people speak after meeting her guardian angel, a woman volunteer and the boy shed tears!

The seven-year-old boy from Guatemala received the gift of hearing on Monday and was moved to tears after hearing his parents speak for the very first time via Skype.

Jenri Rivera, who was born deaf, was able to travel to America for treatment thanks to the Ray of Hope Medical Missions, a not-for-profit group in Fort Wayne, Indiana as three years ago Jenri had met her guardian angel, Erin Van Oordt of Grand Rapids, Michigan, who was working in Guatemala as a volunteer.

‘There was something special about him from the beginning,’ Van Oordt told wane.com.
‘I started talking to him, and he couldn't hear me. I knew my Spanish wasn't that bad, so I started asking around and they said he hasn't heard since he was little. I said we need to figure this out, and that's when we started the whole process.’

In order for Jenri to be eligible for a medical visa to get to the U.S., every part of the process had to be a donation including the $40,000 cochlear implant donated by Advanced Bionics and the procedure to install it, which was performed by Dr. Disher at the Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
The implant was activated on Monday by Dr. Tina Sheehan of Focus Audiology and Hearing Services.

It was an extremely emotional moment for everyone as the young boy got to hear his parent's voices for the very first time.

'I had a flashback to the first time I met him, when he couldn't hear me, and he could this time. Everything we've done in the past three years came flooding back. It was all worth it.'

What a remarkable turn of event for a young lad!

PoliticsVISUALS: Bendel Insurance Players Took To Street Protest Over Unpaid Salaries by tutubranch(op): 7:45am On Sep 25, 2013

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SAqbEKELxfs

It may sound funny to some people but seriously, after risking themselves for glory, it is paramout they get paid for their labour; pathetic story of Nigeria's local sport

The players took to the street yesterday to protest over their unpaid for nine months
salaries in Benin City, disrupting official activities at their ministry of youths and sports as workers were chased out of their offices.

ITV Benin reported that while the protesters agitated for the payment of their nine months salaries, the Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Omorede Osifo said plans are underway to offset payment of the backlog of salaries.

I hope the 'plans' doesnt take another nine months!

PoliticsPicture Of Bill Gate, Kofi Anan Kicking Off The Week With GEJ At UN by tutubranch(op): 6:59am On Sep 25, 2013
One of the world's most powerful, influential and wealthiest men, Bill Gate posted the picture on his website (http://www.thegatesnotes.com/) describing his meeting with President of most populous black country in the world on Monday at the UN. He met GEJ first before meeting with any other leaders at the UN

Pictured along with them are former UN Secretary General, Kofi Anan, Nigerian Minister of Agriculture Mr Adesina, Ondo State Governor, Dr Mimiko and others

NOTE: Bill Gate had earlier this year met with other world leaders as pictured below including China President, China First Lady and New Zealand Prime Minister

This is how Bill gate Described the meeting

It's the kickoff to U.N. Week here in New York, and while locals like to complain about the traffic (I can see why), it is a great opportunity for me to meet with leaders from parts of the world where our foundation is working—to talk about global health and development projects.

I started off on Monday morning meeting Nigeria's President Goodluck Jonathan. Besides our work with our partners on polio in Nigeria, we are also working with the government to improve their agricultural sector. I've written before about China's potential to help developing countries in Africa learn from its successes, but in Nigeria we have a really interesting project just getting off the ground where Brazil is working with Nigeria to bring up agricultural productivity in their northern Guinea savannah. Brazil has done an amazing job helping their own farmers in the Cerrado region to improve their yields, which brings tremendous economic and social benefits.

President Jonathan assembled a meeting of experts in New York and we spent a couple of hours reviewing their progress and discussing next steps. I also had a chance to catch up with President Jonathan about the work we're doing with our partners on polio, which is showing encouraging progress. Nigeria had 43 confirmed cases of polio in the first 8 months of 2013, a drop of 50 percent from the same period last year. Finishing the job is quite an undertaking, so having the President's support is a big deal. I was pleased we got to spend as much time together as we did.

5. BRAD PITT

Brad who was raised southern baptist in an interview with the New York Daily news said " I'm probably 20 percent atheist and 80 percent agnostic. I don't think anyone really knows. You'll find out or not when you get there, until then there's no point thinking about it"

6. George Clooney

Larry King asked Clooney if he believes in God. He dodged it at first but King pressed and he said he doesn’t happen to be a believer.
That’s OK George. I don’t need a church wedding. I’ll settle for a quick ‘I do’ before a judge. We can choose a judge who also does not believe in God. How about that? Are we on?

7. Bruce Lee

Alex Block: Do you believe in God?
Bruce Lee: To be perfectly frank, I really do not.

Bruce Lee Vs. Chuck Norris! I know it’s unrelated but come on. That would be coolest thing in the world.

8. Mark Zuckerberg – Founder of Facebook

Zuckerberg also got into the headlines for telling one of his friends years ago that he will sell the database of Facebook and that people who are signing up on Facebook are all fools. He said he doesn’t understand, nor does he care, why people are trusting him with their personal data.
Oh, I bet none of you are not going to the delete their Facebook accounts. Hypocrites!

Believing in something is a thing of choice and will be surprised to learn that super successful people dont even believe in the existence of God (especially as Nigerians that we are perhaps bunch of the most religious nation on the earth surface)

The list is a well researched compilation of the atheist celebrities and why they dont believe in God

N.B: I know Seun Osewa, the oga at the top of Nairaland has been mentioned as an atheist, will for now avoid controversy surrounding his belief

1) SEUN KUTI

The statement inspired quite a heated debate on the page as Christianity, Islam and African Traditional religion were under fire from commenters who aired their opinions.

2. ANGELINA JOLIE

In an interview with the AV club, her answer to the question "Is there a God?" Was "hmmm... For some people. I hope so for them. For the people who believe in it, I hope so. There's something in people in people that's so spiritual, that's god-like. I don't feel like doing things just because people say things, but I also don't really know if its better to not just believe in anything either"

3. JODIE FOSTER

In an interview with entertainment Weekly, she revealed: "I'm an atheist but I absolutely love religions and rituals. Even though I don't believe in God. We celebrate pretty much every religion in our family with the kids. They love it and when they say "are we Jewish?" Or " are we catholic?" I say " well I'm not but you can choose when you're 18"

4. TAI SOLARIN

Tai Solarin was also a well known humanist and atheist who opposed the ownership of the schools by churches. Tai Solarin once said that "black(people) hold onto their God just as the drunken man holds on to the street lamp post—for physical support only." Uncle Tai, as he was popularly known, derived immense pleasure in selflessly and fearlessly advocating for a better Nigeria, an action borne out of genuine, unfettered, earnest and heartfelt feeling about the state and future of the nation and the future generation. He was dissatisfied with the mindboggling erosion of values, the misrule and total collapse of all facets of life and sectors in the country and expressed shock at the unfathomable silence and culpability of the leadership and people.

CelebritiesPHOTOS: Superstar Idris Elba Covers October Edition Of GQ Plus His Brief by tutubranch(op): 3:33pm On Sep 22, 2013
Idris Elba, Idris Elba! Feel like calling the name over and over, lol

Last year, he was a special guest at the Dbanj's Concert - yes the 'journey of Jerusalem event', for those who remember

Name another actor of his size and physical presence—six feet three inches, 200 pounds, linebacker broad—so singularly gifted at bringing inner life to such a majestic outer frame. “He exudes power but he doesn’t exude the power of The Man, of the establishment. He
doesn’t have the authority that belongs to a group. It’s an authority that belongs exclusively to him.”

Ladies feel free to stare and guys I’d understand if you hate him right now, unless of course you are gay then it’s OK to drool like the ladies.

It feels like an overdue thing is finally happening for Elba, an actor long regarded as one of the most charismatic of his generation

He sure look handsome on the Cover Of America’s GQ Magazine October 2013 edition.

EntertainmentPHOTOS: Believe It, This Sexy Woman Was Once A MAN by tutubranch(op): 12:36pm On Sep 21, 2013

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_MnLOyLBJA

Yes she is hot and sexy but if as a guy you found out that she was born a man, would you still go ahead and em em em...ooops, lol

This catwalk model wowed audiences before London Fashion Week talks about how she was born a man and is about to undergo a sex swap. 32-year-old grew up as a boy named
Glen.

She came out as a gay male when she was a teenager and started wearing women's clothing in her 20's. She then started hormone replacement therapy two years ago.

Nicole saw her previously masculine body change shape. Her figure became shapely and womanly, and her breasts grew to a size 32B.

Nicole soon left her pub job to pursue a career on the catwalk. And this week her modelling dream came to fruition as she stepped out onto the catwalk in a designer dress as part of Catwalk For Change, a fashion show held to challenge the lack of diversity in the industry.

The final part of her transformation will happen on last Thursday when Nicole goes under the knife to become a fully-fledged woman.
