Thecassanova:I am already a member of my professional body and I have a letter to that effect. Which other cumbersome document will I need? |
sekinatmi:Yes, I used SAQA evaluation for my application but I didn't ask them to send it to me in nigeria. I only asked my friend in SA to collect it for me from SAQA office and send a scanned copy to me which I used to apply for visa and also submitted a certified hard copy for me to the admission office. |
samtol4:Yes, I graduated last year from Wits. It was an honours program. Am still in SA and my permit would expire by december. How long did it take your colleague to get the PR? |
Please have anyone heard of a success story for any recent graduate from a SA university from a critical skill field area who applied directly for permanent resident and was given? I have the option of applying for critical skill permit or PR (base on the new regulation) but am not confident enough about the PR due to uncertainties. Please gurus in the house should shed some light on this matter. |
welf99:Does this mean I can apply directly for a permanent residence as a graduate of a south african tertiary institution in critical skill area even though I don't have a critical work permit yet? |
millyajay:[s] millyajay:[/s] millyajay:Realist I would say. Not saddist. These kind of thing never ever happens- somebody giving you an outrageous amount of money to do stupid things such as slapping your girlfriend or going back to primary school. Where will the money even come from? |
Stop dreaming guys. No one will give you N 0.1M to go back to primary school. No, not BillGate, not Dangote, not Adenuga, no one, I mean nobody. Stop and ask yourself- would you pay a student say N100,000 for him to repeat a class? How stupid would that be! Have you every heard or seen that done before? |
Tzardom:The man predicted a collapse in the south african economy if something is not done fast. Although he sounded very pessimistic or more like a prophet of doom and even though i don't agree with him on that, it is his opinion - his business. The next guy had a different idea and he presented his argument with facts too, his analysis seemed optimistic. If you have a valid argument for or against the motion then present it intellectually. Not that "stay in your country" thingy. Look around, Nairaland is not centered on Nigeria alone, there are topics on everything Nigerian and non Nigerian as well. There are sections for cars, programming, romance and many others. In this travel section there is also a thread for U.S, Germany, UK, Australia, Canada etc. Nigerians are not only concerned about Nigeria. My classmate then told me he can never leave south africa. He said "if i go to U.S how am i going to compete with the Americans, Indians, Chinese, etc for Jobs". I understood his position. But i told him, i don't mind competing with those people if i have the chance to. If you are only concerned about SA and you thought that Nairaland is only about Nigeria, you shouldn't be here in the first place. You surely have a lot of work to do since your job description is to respond to comments that "berates" SA on internet forums and social media. Am sure many other African countries have their own Nairaland. So google them out and find out who else "berating" SA. More grease to your elbow. |
Tzardom:What an irony! You ask someone to mind his business while you yourself are in the middle of his own business. There should be a South Africa forum for you. Why did you sign up for Nairaland when you hate foriegners this much. Isn't there a "RandLand" for south africans. And anybody can be concerned with the politics of any nation if he has an interet in that nation whether directly or indirectly. Most of us africans were concerned about the outcome of the u.s election, weren't we? Even russians and iranians were concerned. I bet the owners of mtn, multichoice, shoprite etc will be concerned with nigerian politics as they know that the economics policies of the govt affects their buisiness. If you don't have any interest outside south african you can mind you business within and allow others to also mind theirs anywhere in world. |
staggerlee:I think it is rather the reasoning of the poor and hopeless South africans, the ones on the streets and townships and maybe a very few average. Because the few average I know don't reason like that. |
Tzardom:So what are you going to do? Wait and hope the economy of SA crashes so that the forigners have no choice but to leave or you lead an "S/A must fall" campaign. Maybe you will be considered a revolutionist. |
Tzardom:Yes they will stop. I guess you now have something to gain if/when she falls. |
welf99:So what then happens when you can only report of an employment in a different field? |
welf99:Can you use the permit to work in a different area from the one you applied for? For example i am a geophysicist, after obtaining critical skill permit as a geophysicist, can i work as a programmer while looking for a geophysics job? |
aril:Am doing a postgraduate degree program. So far, I have not experince any discrimination. Wits is a big school and among the top best in SA and Africa as a whole. The atmosphere is friendly. I hope this answers your question. Feel free to ask more specific questions and I will try to answer them to the best of my ability. |
aril:Yes. I am a student at wits. |
naruto02:GTB atm card does not work for cash withdrawal. But you can use it in Pos machines. |
stevetop:Which of the schools are you going to? |
stevetop:yes, i beleive you can. i came with a one way ticket myself. the avaiation officers ask why but the moment they saw that i had a student visa they were okay with it. i beleive your visa is for 1 or 2 years like mine. |
staggerlee:I actually have a visa that has geography written on it but I went ahead to register for my geophysics course without any questions asked. I think the most important thing is that the school is the same. Although mine maybe a bit different from yours because I actually have an admission for geophysics but the embassy mistakenly wrote geography on my visa instead of geophysics. But nobody asked me why do you have geography on your visa and you want to do geophysics. Or maybe they didn't look close enough... |
tweb1:Please somebody should help answer this question. |
I am trying to book flight to travel to SA. I see some flight having stop overs, some of which may last up to 12hrs. Please where will the passenger be during this long hours of waiting? What will he/she be doing doing during the long wait? |
Please has anyone obtained his visa from lagos embassy before the date stated on the receipt? I wish I could get mine at least a week earleir or within two weeks |
Please, the bank statement to be used for application for SA study visa, how many months should it span? |
HankVoight:So just the letter of sponsorship together with the bank statement will do, right? |
Keneking:I was admitted to the university of witwatersrand. Can i used my uncle's statement of account even though we don't have the same surname? Will they ask for profe? |
Please has anyone gotten student permit from Lagos embassy recently? I just want to know how long it took so that i can see how i will meet up with te registration at the school where i was admitted. |
Please, has anyone been to the SA embassy in Lagos for study visa this November? I want to know when to go there for my own. Is it still Tuesdays only? Or have there been any change? |
I am preparing to start my post graduate course by Feb 2016 in Joburg at wits. I want to get there on time and settle down with a part time job for my support before the program begins. I already have my eye on teaching as an option for a part time Job. Please our Naija brothers and Sisters in SA, will it be cool to travel by January? When do their secondary school resume in the new year? Can i get a teaching Job online from here before i leave? |
yinksob002:Ok. I am going for Honours program. |
