******** MY BIRTH STORY ********


My EDD as shown by almost all my scans slated
27-09-2015. I was counting down seriously. Mum
believes a woman should look good to the favour
room so I took my time to make my nails (short),
make my hair (simple) and even waxed down
below (you understand), all in readiness for
27-09-2015.

27-09-2015 came, no sign of labour all day....My
anxiety rose but DH calmed me down (We gat
+2wks to wait). I went for my antenatal the
Thursday after my EDD and my Dr pissed me off
with his "Ha! U never drop am??"
exclamation.....Well we talked that was when he told
me my baby was too big (scan showed 4.4kg) to
pass thru my pelvis blah blah and he suggested I
go for an elective CS, priced at #220,000 (where
me & that kan money for come??) and he
advised I get it done immediately for my baby's
safety....I left him angrily.

I didn't see that coming at all, I felt bad because
all my birth plan seems to have gone south.

Went to the central hospital the next day for a
second opinion, after many questions & answers
+ checks the Dr reaffirm what my other Dr had
said and immediately booked me to be checked
in for the section. I just left them and went home
to cry my unprepared eyes out. This happened
09-10-2015 and I was 41+ already.

I docked the Dr's advise, believing God for the Vaginal delivery (Thinking religiously and endangering my LO). A lot happened, my legs that never swelled during pregnancy started swelling constantly even when raised on a pilliow at night accompanied by sleepless nights laced with strong thoughts of what ifs....My fear heightened but I made up my mind to go thru with the CS (Took me 11days to make up my mind) and fervently praying its not to late coz I was already at 42+.

I packed my bags with DH on the 20-10-2015 and set out to the hospital....Went thru all these processes and tests with lots of scolding from the Drs and nurses but I was past caring, all I want to my child safe. I was booked for the section immediately (It was a miracle given the fact that its a government hospital).

By 12midnight I was wheeled into the theatre, fixed on drips and given spinal anesthesia coz I wanted to watch the whole process.....12:30am my baby boy was delivered weighing 3.7kg and showed to me (I just smiled and praised God .... The moment was magical), 1am I was out of the theatre all cleaned up.

LO was checked for anything attached to post termed babies....He was certified okay.

Dr advised not to try the silly risk I took again....I solemnly swore "Never Again".

Am dealing with pains but the joy of my baby boy take all the pains away.

Oh I forgot to mention the whole operation was Free Of Charge courtesy of the previous government of Delta State.

Eyimofe Brian Tuoyo is ONE today My boogie boogie... How time flies. Never knew love like what I feel for my son. He can make me laugh and cry at the same time He is a gift I unwrap everyday. Right from the day the doctors place him in my hands, I knew I'd die first before I let harm come near him. So energetic and bursting with life. Here I'm thanking God wholeheartedly for this privileged to be a mom to this wonderful boy whom has given me no cause to panick for the past ONE year.

How old is your baby ?

You need to have a doctor not a nurse listen to his breathing using a stethoscope. He might actually need antibiotics.

Usually if a cough persists for more than 7-10 days or if it sounds very chesty, a mild course of antibiotics is recommended ahd it's proven to work.

He is 11months old.... Antibiotics is why Erythromycin was recommended. So I will continue on it then.
