Finally I Was Called by Alamuda

He had told me we had an outing to attend. Thursday came, I was already up before seven waiting for his call, but he never called. When it was nine in the morning, I called him, and he said that I should not worry; he was going to call me. The call ended, and I thought this is the the same person I knew. He wasn't going to call me. So I slept off. While I was asleep, I heard my phone ringing. I picked up, and he gave me the address of where I was to meet him. I stood up from where I was sleeping, took my bathe, dressed up, and moved out.

When I got to the bus stop he had told me to stop, I called him that I was there. He asked "Where?" I told him the bus stop he had mentioned earlier. He asked me to turn and I saw him standing across the road. He crossed and we greeted each other. When we got to the venue, he asked if I had eaten. I let him know that I haven't eaten and was really hungry. He gave me 1,000 Naira to get food outside. I went to get myself food; I went back then we started doing some little things like arranging where we are going to cook. Picking Ewedu and vegetables; at the same time chatting. Couple of hours after. The host came with the meat and some other food stuff and ingredients we were to use. The meat has been killed, and cut. We rinsed and cleaned the meat, then boiled and fried it. While doing this, we were also sorting out the pepper. By the time we were done with all these, it was already 10 PM. We slept, and they woke me up when it was 2 AM or there about. The weather was cold, and I was finding it hard to get up.
After some minutes, I finally summoned the courage to stand up. When I got to where we were cooking, they've already started. I was a bit surprised. Well I joined them. We cooked Jollof Rice, Fried Rice, Semo, Stew, Vegetable, then in the morning we made Akara, and Moi-Moi. When it was 11 AM we made Puff Puff before the event finally started. I wasn't the one cooking it, I was just assisting my boss. We were three: Alamuda, me and one other person.

We moved all the things we cooked to where we are going to serve it. 30 minutes after, this heavy rain started for an hour or even more. The storm affected the canopy. They have this big canopy that can contain 1,000 people at once. As big as the canopy was, it fell and all the guest look for a place to stay. When it looked like the rain has reduced a little. We looked for a building we could manage serve the guest clean our utensil. I mean the plate, spoon, pots, cooler and all that. We left in the evening by 5 PM on Friday. We (the three of us) were in the car that we put the things used in. While we were in the car, I asked him for money. He acted as if he had forgotten. After a while he asked for my account number. I wanted to check my phone to call the account number. He asked if I don't know it offhand. I said, "No," he just told me to send it to him and handed me 1,000 Naira. I dropped when I got to my place and bade him farewell.

My Catering Side Hustle

Talking about my little side hustle, just like I stated here in one of my past updates. My boss, whose name is Alamuda ( a nickname given to him due to his real name) didn't eventually call me on the last outing we were supposed to go together. I wasn't shocked, or surprised because that's not new to me anymore. I called him last week to see if he has any upcoming event, to which he said yes to. I asked him to fill me in about the event, and he said it's a remembrance happening this Wednesday at Ota, and we will be spending two days. I told him okay, that I'll be calling him later. After that, I ended the call. I checked the shift I'll be on Wednesday, sadly, I'll be on morning shift, which kind of bothers me because it's definitely going to affect my work. So I thought of calling him to tell him that I'll be coming on Wednesday evening, that I have something to do during the day. That way, I'll be able to go to work, then join him later in the evening.

So, I called him this evening and asked about the event, and he said it's no longer on Wednesday, that they've concluded it to be on Thursday. I just asked him what time, and he said as early as 7:30 in the morning. I feel relieved, because now, even if I'm going to miss work, it'll be on my night shift which is safer than missing morning shift. I know I can't count on Alamuda calling me on that day, but I'll still keep my fingers crossed. Ciao!

From Omolara to Omolade

Earlier this week, I was going to get myself food in the morning around 8 Am, that was when I noticed this dark-skinned, slim with average height lady walking into the street I was going to pass. She was wearing a green gown, and her hair was braided. The first thought that came to my head was, "This girl looks beautiful, I have to say something to her.". Now, we were both in the street. I had to pause the music I was listening to (through airpod), to avoid distraction if I get a chance to talk to her. When I got closer to her, I greeted her, and the rest of the conversation went like this.

Me: Good morning.
Omolara : Good morning.
Me: Have we met?
Omolara : No.
Me: I don't mean to bother you tho, but you are the prettiest girl I've seen this morning. Do you stay around here?
Omolara : Yeah.
Me: Where?
Omolara : Adedoja.
Me: I don't know. Well, I'm kind of new here, and I'm trying to make new friends. Is it cool if I get your number?
Omolara : No.
Me: But we can be friends?
Omolara : Yeah.
Me: Does that mean I can have your number?

*Omolara stopped and showed a sign of consent.*

Me : Call it (I'm talking about her number).
Omolara : 090661278 (I couldn't hear the last two numbers).
Me: 0 0
Omolara : 1 0

I called the 1 0 out loud, because she was already leaving, and I wanted to be sure if I got it right. She didn't response though. To me, it meant that was the number she called. I called her later in the day, and asked if I was talking to Omalara, but the person said no. I was hearing a female voice. So, I asked who the person was. She replied, "Omolade.". I continued by asking her if she wasn't the person I met at hmm, what's it called (at this point, I was stuttering, because I didn't know the name of the street). She just said, "Yes." that she's Omolade; not Omolara. I told her that's my number; she can save it. She asked for my name, and I told her. I said, "Take care." and hung up.

You know when they say, "Once beaten twice shy." that's what I just applied. While I was leaving the regular mama-put restaurant, I heard someone made this "hiss" sound loudly to indicate he was calling someone. I looked back, but it does not seem the person was calling me. May be because it was dark. I continued with my walk, then the guy made another attempt, and it seems he was following me. I just said, "I'm not interested." before he got closer. He replied, "Did you know what I'm calling you for?" I didn't let him finish before I said, "I don't wanna know." next thing he said was, "Pele oh (which means sorry in a frustrating way)." I did not even look back. After I walked a little further, I looked back to see if he was still following me, but thankfully, he has stopped. The reason why I acted the way I did was because of what strangers has done to me in the past.

Water for Soda

How do I explain this? 2022,I made a vow never to take carbonated drinks anymore, but unfortunately it happened. This evening after eating, I decided to get water from the fridge. At first, I picked up a bottle, but what's inside looked like that of Pepsi. So, I returned it back and took another bottle. I opened it, and after swallowing it like twice, I realized I was drinking something that tasted like 7up. I couldn't swallow the remaining that was in my mouth and spat it out. I don't know who kept the drink in the fridge, but if anyone ever ask, I will let him or her know that I took it.

My Little Side Hustle

There's this Caterer I used to assist whenever they call him for an event. At first, I had the intention of learning the craft from him without looking at, the money side, but he only calls me once in a while like, say, three times in a year. So I thought there was no way I could learn it and switch my focus to just making money from it. I've been working for him for the last five years . The last time I was out with him was December. During our last outing, we had a misunderstanding, and he was angry at me. We parted ways when the party ended, and I called him to apologize. He told me there was no problem, that he would call me if he has an event. I've been calling him ever since then, and all he's been telling me is that I shouldn't worry; He's going to call me. I called him earlier this week , and he said he's a three day outing at Badagry, next Monday. I should be prepared. I'm kind of happy, because that's more money, and eating different dishes for free. On the contrary, he might not call me on the day, so for now I'm hoping for the best, and expecting the worst.

Work Drama

Last month, my manager at work told us we are going to have Sallah celebrdation. He said that everyone will be contributing 4,000 Naira each. I was like that's minus 4,000 from my salary ( luckily I received 84,700 Naira as salary), though I did not show it. After we were being paid salary, they started requesting for the money. I knew I had no choice than to pay. But still, I wanted to delay it. I just thought that there was no point in delaying it. So I asked my Team Leader for his account details, which he did give me. The day after I asked for his account details, we were on night shift. Through out the whole night, he did not say anything concerning it until we were about to close. I told him to check his Opay account. He replied, "Which Opay? I purposely wrote my bank and account name twice so that you won't do any mistake." I told him that I admit it was my mistake, but I saw his name before I sent it, and since it's the same number, he should be able to have access to it. We went back and forth on it until I left work. He did not bring it up after that day. I don't know what he did, and I don't care.

If we were given the option to choose between to pay and not to pay. To be honest, I wouldn't have paid. This is not just me, a lot of people at work would have followed suit. How will a standard organization/company ask its employees to contribute money for a party. What's stopping them to host it without asking for a penny. Funny enough, this branch alone makes millions a day. The manager himself sell flour sacks of nothing less than 50,000 Naira per week; Not to talk of milk tins and bread crumbs. This doesn't go to the company's account. Crazy fella. The Sallah celebration is happening tommorow. Let me wait and see what they have in store for us. Until then, I'll stay quiet.

Fruitful Effort

Since last month, I have been noticing that my phone has charging problem, but I thought it was just the USB cable that I was using. So I bought a new one early this month. Ever since I bought a new cord, my phone has been charging perfectly; It looked like everything was fine until yesterday that it stopped charging. I started thinking of what to do. So I decided that I would fix it after closing from work this morning. On getting home this morning, I first washed my working cloths. When I was done with that, I brought out my tools as a phone repairer that I am, and replaced the old charging port with a new one. Now, my phone is charging perfectly. The only downside to it is that it is not connecting to my laptop anymore. Even thought it is something I can do, but the fear of loosing my phone often and getting another thing spoiled won't let me do that. There are videos I wanted to transfer to my system, I just told one of my siblings that I would be using his phone in doing that. Problem solved. No money spent, and my phone is charging fine.

Failed Attempt

While I was going to work yesterday, I noticed this lady walking towards me. She seemed classy, and I felt like I should talk to her. After walking past each other, I turned back and followed her. She looked back and saw that I was following her. She gave me this look of I knew what you wanted. I said, "Good evening." and followed it by saying, "Please, give me a minute." she just said "No, no, no." I asked her what happened. She said she does not know me. I replied back with, "If you don't give me a chance, how will you get to know me?" she nodded her head sideways. I asked if it's my look, but she said that she does not know. I just said, "Alright, take care." I turned back, and headed back to work.

Double Miss

Crazy day indeed. I was on the road this afternoon, when I spotted this well dressed beautiful looking lady. I said, " Excuse me." twice. She looked towards me, then I discovered she was just an under-age girl. I asked her how old she was, but she never responded. I knew I had to let her be, and continued with my walk.

The second one happened while I came out of the bank. I crossed to the other side of the road. On getting to the other side, I saw this girl who was just coming down from a tricycle ( keke ). I greeted her, and she responded. I asked if I could talk to her, but she did not give any response. She crossed the road, and I followed her, hoping she was going to respond. After she crossed, she went straight to a bike man and left. I was like what's really going on today. That was it though.

Another Stressful Day

I received my salary last week Wednesday. The following day I was out to get a white polo and a black cargo jeans. This is how it all went down.

I was on night shift on Wednesday, when we all received our salary. Immediately I got home after closing from work the next morning, I quickly confirmed the salary. I slept around 8AM then woke up later in the afternoon. I dressed up and went out to get the new cloths. I went to this boutique in my neighborhood and told her what I wanted, but she said she didn't have and showed me the joggers trousers she had. I asked for the price, and she said it's 12,000 Naira. Since that's not what I was looking for. I told her that I'm going to get back to her. I left her place then went to the one that's kind of close to my place as well, but still the same thing.

There's this market named Arena at Oshodi. When I got there, I started moving from shop to shop, but I didn't see what I was looking for. I spent nothing less than two hours in the market, before I decided to call it a quit. The funny thing was that, I didn't ask for the price of one single cloth. I was just checking to see if it matches the type I was looking for. After I left there. I decided to go to Ikeja. When I got there, I first went to Computer Village to get two USB cables. Before I continued with my cloth hunting.

When I was done with that, I started walking down the road side checking for boutique. I noticed one, then I decided to check it out.

Me: Do you have black cargo jeans, and white polo, or white shirt?

Boutique Owner: I don't have cargo jeans, but I have white shirt.

Me: Let me see the white shirt.

Boutique Owner: Look at the this one, it's long sleeves, but if you want short sleeves I can bring it for you.

Me: I want the short sleeves, how much is it?

Boutique Owner: Pay 15,000 Naira.

Me: I'll pay 7,000 Naira.

• After going back and for a little while, we both settled for 8,000 Naira.

Boutique owner: This is it.

Me: This one doesn't have pocket like the one you showed me.

Boutique Owner: The one here does not have a pocket as well. What you're seeing here is the cloth hand.

Me: How will I buy a cloth that doesn't have neither design nor pocket that will cover for the design?

I told him I can't buy something like that. He tried to talk me into buying it, but I wasn't hearing it at all. I left his shop trying to spot another boutique. I saw this boutique on the first floor of a story building. I climbed the stairs then I entered the boutique. I told the guy who I met inside what I was looking for. He said he does not have cargo jeans, but he has some white top. While showing me the ones he has, one polo actually caught my attention. I asked for the price, and he said it was 22,000 Naira. I offered him 12,000 Naira, and he said he could only sell it for 20,000 Naira, nothing less. I said I would pay 15,000 Naira, but he didn't agree with that. When I was leaving his shop, he said I should come and take it for 18,000 Naira, but I did as if I did not hear what he said. The polo actually has a good design, but paying 18,000 Naira is way too much for me. I checked like three boutique after that, but didn't see anything that come close to it. I went back and begged him to reduce the price, however, he said that 18,000 Naira that he asked for is okay, and he's not going down more than that. I asked for his account number and sent him 17,000 Naira. I asked if he has received the money. He said it's his boss account that I can show him the receipt. I showed him, and he saw that I didn't send the complete money. He changed his look like he's not happy with it. I just begged him, and he handed me the cloth. I thanked him and left his shop.

I went to the bus stop and boarded a bus home. Before getting home, I went back to the boutique that was in my neighborhood. I told her to bring the joggers she showed me earlier, and I asked for the price again. She said it's 14,000 Naira. I told her she was the one who said the price was 12,000 Naira, and she said I should bring the money. I transferred the money; I collected the trouser, and I left.

Thankfully! Sallah cloths is ready.

The Unexpected

I went out this morning to buy food, while walking on a quiet street, it seems I was hearing the sound of vehicle coming from behind, and I decided to look back. Before turning my face to the side, I just saw this Korope ( small bus) passed beside me and the person sitting beside the driver was saying something I couldn't hear because I put on earpiece. I knew if I wasn't putting on earpiece I would have heard the of a vehicle coming from behind, and the reason why I did not bother on the side of the street was because I barely see okada not to talk of vehicle using the street. The person just shouted, I did not all he was saying, and I walked like nothing happened.

Kinda Worried

To be honest, I don't really like the kind of life I'm living. The only thing that's interesting is my salary which is 80,000 Naira, and I'm expecting an increment this month. I worked 12 hours shift, then rest for 24 hours before I resume. When I close from work, the only thing I do is wash my working clothes then sleep. I don't feel any pain when resuming the next shift, but it's always hard for me to read, and also observe my solat. There's this colleague of mine that said something this evening, he said " You would always think twice before you fight your colleague at work, because you don't want to be sacked by the management. To see the kind of work that would be paying you as this would be difficult. Even if you see, you would have spent a significant amount of time with them for them to be paying you huge salary. " While walking home, I kept pondering on it. I thought while working as self employed, I used to pray and beg for customer, but as an employee being sack is what worries me the most. While working as self employed, I resume and go to work the way I want, but as an employee I don't have control over the way I work. I'm still thinking about alternatives, because I can't keep working this way.

How My Day Went

I thank God for today. It was not as stressful as yesterday. We did not produce any bread today. We just did some clean up. I set my alarm to 4:50 AM, but I missed the alarm and woke up by 6:36 AM. I woke up then shower and dressed up for work. I was expected to resume by 6:00 AM. So, I already know I'm late. When I got to work, I was told the Bakery Supervisor wanted to see me in his office. I went in, and he asked me why I came. I just explained to him that it was because of the alarm that I missed. I asked if he could pardon me, but he said what he's going through now won't made him do that. He told me I can go. I left his office and when I was about to sign in, he called the Internal Operative, and she came back to tell me that I will be closing by 9 PM. I didn't utter a word. I singed in at 7:34 AM then went inside. When it was closing time, my Team Leader came to tell me that accountant said I should close late, since I resumed late. I just waited for an hour and half before I signed out by 7:26PM.

How My Day Went

Yesterday, I was on night shift, which was supposed to start from 6PM to 6AM. When it was around 10PM the Team Leader of our shift left us to rest and have a little sleep. By the time he got up around 3AM, he started acting like a serious one. Anyone caught trying to sleep or just standing without doing anything while we're working will be insulted and threatened with sanction. We would have been done with all our work by seven this morning, but because of some people that got him angry he told us to all continue with our work. I thought maybe it's just going to be like an hour extra, but I guessed wrong. People that made him angry left, saying 6AM is their closing time. He allowed them to leave, and reported them to the manager. I'm not sure, but I think their salary will be deducted. I finally signed out by 11:32 Am. I was just angry with the way he handled the whole thing, but there's nothing I could do.

After signing out, I was walking home with a colleague of mine. While walking, I noticed this slim and tall girl on the other side of the road, walking the same direction with us. I asked my colleague what he think about the girl, and he said, "Not too bad." I asked if he could give me his phone to collect the girl number, to which he declined. I went after the girl when I almost got to her I said

Me: Excuse me.

• she didn't hear the first time, so I had to repeat myself.

Me: Excuse me.

• She looked towards me while she kept walking.

Me: I like this your hair.

• No response from her.

Me: I don't mean to bother you. I just find you attractive, I had to come say hi.
I'm Adebayo. What's your name?

Jessica: I don't have a name.

Me: Don't say that. Everyone has a name.

Jessica: My parent did not give me any name.

Me: That's not true. I just told you my name.
Just tell me your name.

Jessica: I don't have any name.

Me: I just want us to be friends.
Are you on Facebook?

Jessica: No.

Me: What about Instagram.

Jessica: I don't have phone. I used to use my mom's phone.

Me: You know me seeing you today is by chance, or opportunity. Let me put it that way.

Jessica: I'm on Instagram.

Me: What's your handle?

Jessica: CallJessica. Find out the rest.

Me: Don't do this.

Jessica: Okay. Call_jessica.

Me: How do you spell it let me see if I can put it on my head.

Jessica: Jessica now. You already have my name sef.

Me: Just spell it for me.

Jessica: C a l l _ J e s s i c a

Me: Okay. Have a good day.

That was how I leave her and quickly ran back to the colleague I left. When I got out of the street I followed the girl into, I saw that he has went a bit far. I was tired and couldn't run any longer. I just kept walking quickly and later catch up with him. I narrated what went down between me and the girl then we both departed.

I entered my street, and I saw people gathered with two bikes also known as okada parked by their side. I walked closer and saw that they're trying to separate two people fighting. I thought of separating them as well, but the fear of getting involved in the fight made me think otherwise. The two people fighting were holding each other's clothes and I could hear people saying leave him alone. One of the the fighter whose mouth is bleeding said, "I won't let him go." I think he's the passenger. People there were saying you punched him first. He denied and swore as well. I was just looking at the guy bleeding and started thinking that why don't you just accept defeat and move on.

When I got home I searched for Call_jessica and found her picture then I left a message for her.

Update on My Last Update

Talking about the guy I wrote about on my last update, what I heard was actually true. He was caught on camera stealing 2 packs of Lacoco (an alcoholic drink). While he was being shown what he did, he kept denying that he was not the one. Who is he fooling? Eventually, he was sacked. He knew what he did. He just wasn't want to admit it to avoid shame, and I think that's the reason why he acted strangely the day I questioned him concerning him being sacked and all that.

Got Myself in Hot Soup

This is gonna be real quick. I was on night shift yesterday. I heard something about a guy we do call Maintenance. He stole a pack of alcoholic drinks, and that he has been sack. So, when I saw the guy this morning, I was kind of surprised that I have to asked him about what happened. The guy started acting like someone who knows nothing about what I said. He was like what's this guy saying. He asked me where did I hear it from, and what really happen. I just told him people were talking about it, and that's all I heard.

He kept asking me to tell him what happen, but because of the way he was acting, I just told him that's all I know, that he should leave me. He started shouting and left. Before I knew it, he called his colleague who's also a maintenence, followed by one other guy. So, they were three. His colleague then asked me what I said earlier. I said, " I heard they said he has been sacked." he then asked who told me, and I said, " People were talking about it." He started saying it's not everything that I hear that I'd be saying out, and they all left.

The second colleague came again and started saying why would I be saying something like that. The guy himself doesn't know what's going on, that I shouldn't be the telling him. I said, "I dont know." He continued by saying someone's calling me. I followed him, and we both entered the receptionist office. I met this guy dressed corporately. Told me to sit, and started talking about me breaching the law of the company, that it's a punishable offense, and not just punishable, but stackable offense. He asked me if I signed the confidentiality form, I told him I can't remember but later told him I did. He said he would be warning me this time and I thanked him, then left.

I went in back and continued my work. The second maintenance came and said, "You're the one who put yourself in this. Manager is calling you." I followed him, and when we got to manager's place, I greeted him, and he responded. He did not talk much than saying I shouldn't have done that, and he's going to get back to me.

I went in back. People were just asking me what happened, which I explained and they were all blaming me, that I shouldn't have asked him something like that. To be honest, it did make me feel bad, and I kind of learnt my lesson in a hard way.

Resuming work tomorrow, I don't know what's going to happen yet.

Rizzing Baraqat

My plan was to talk to as many girls as possible on the day of Eid Il Fitr. In the morning, before I went for the Eid prayer, I wrote down some lines in two sheets of paper. That was what I intend to do. When we finished the Eid prayer, I immediately stood up and snapped some couple of pictures. After I took the pictures I saw this tall, slim, and dark skinned girl. Dressed in green Abaya ( gown ). She has a pretty face; I ain't gon lie. I've been looking at different girls, but most of them were with their family doing the lovey dovey kind of thing. I just had to let them go.

I saw this one standing alone; I later realized she was waiting for her family. I walked up to her and greeted her. I handed her a paper which has 'Meeting someone as beautiful as you means something, especially on a day like this. Can I get your number, if you don't mind?' written on it. She collected it and wanted to keep it. I just told her to check it. I handed her my phone afterward. She collected it and was typing her number. I asked for her name and she said it's Baraqat. I did not get that at first. I asked her what she said but didn't get any response from her. I noticed she was having difficulty typing the number. I collected the phone from her an told her to give call it. I dialed the number; asked her if it was ringing, and her reply was 'Yes.' I told her to let me see. She brought out her phone from her pocket and put it back in. I told her to let me see and she said it's ringing with a harsh tone. I just asked for her name the second time and she said it's Baraqat. I moved forward a bit, and I checked the number on WhatsApp and messaged her instantly. She wasn't using her picture.

I tried to look for some other girls to talk to, but because of the way she was standing and kept looking at me. I find it hard to talk to other girls. This was because the Eid praying ground is not big enough. There's nowhere I would stay that her eyes won't get to. I just walked back home. To be honest, the rizzing style was kind of boring. Because she was acting emotion-less. I don't know why. It could be the line, or the way she perceived my approach. Anyway, we move!

Eid--Il--Fitr Day

To almighty Allah we give thanks to, for letting us see through the month of Ramadan. I was in mosque yesterday night cause we had Lailatul qadr, I was up all night. I left mosque after we observed the morning prayer. Around 8 : 00 in the morning, I went out to go buy Indomie and came back to prepare and eat it. Then when it was some minute past nine, I freshen up and put the new dress I got for the day. I left home and walked to the Eid ground. I was about to do ablution when I thought of taking some pictures before my hair look scattered. I walked up to this lady who was in front of her shop and asked her if she could snap me, which she said yes to. After she was done I thanked her and went back to Eid ground. Did my ablution and sat down waiting for the prayer to start.

While sitting, I took some selfies before we start the nafilat ( prayer). I sat down when it was 9 : 33 AM, and when it's 9 : 50, I've been sweating like someone poured me a drum of water. Everyone started to complain that the sun is too hot; me included. Around 9 : 57 AM, The Imam finally arrived and we all stood up to observe the prayer. Immediately we finished the prayer, I asked a guy to quickly take my picture, and he told me that I shouldn't be annoyed that that he can't. I looked around and saw one other guy who was close to me and was willing to help. He took some couple of shots, and I thanked him. I sighted this girl from afar walked up to her and got her number then left.

I didn't go home directly. I first stopped at my mom's shop and told one of my sisters to snap which she did and also did some videos. I left and got home. When I got home I mixed concoction drink. I drank it, then watch video for little while. I slept off about past 11, then woke up exactly 5 : 35 PM clean up the room then left for mosque.

Ramadan Has Come and Gone

What did you plan for Ramadan: Actually, the only plan I had was to recite quran twice. Alihamdullilahi, I was able to recite one full quran, but couldn't complete the second one.

How did you feel that Ramadan has ended: If I'm to be honest, I feel relieved. Because it's a struggle for me to work while fasting. I'm left with no option as fasting is compulsory, and my salary is important at the end of the month.

Were you able to maintain a healthy balance between your spiritual practices and daily responsibilities during Ramadan: I ain't gon lie, my work really affected some activities during Ramadan, like the plan for reading two Quran would have been completed if not for work. Besides, there's this vigil we usually do during the last ten days of Ramadan, I was only able to attend one from it. So, finding a balance was something I tried but could not do.

Did you encounter any challenges or obstacles during Ramadan, and If so, how did you overcome it: The only challenge I would say I faced was not being able to complete my daily 5 solat. I know this should not be named as a challenge for a muslim, but still, that is mine.

Is there anything you started during Ramadan and plan to keep: If there's anything I started during Ramadan and plan to keep, definitely it'll be recitation of the holy quran. I noticed the change in the way I recite quran now, compared to when fasting just started. My plan moving forward is to at least recite one full quran in every two month.

Rizzing Precious in the Bank

I was in the bank on Tuesday. Immediately I entered, I noticed two ladies and started thinking of how to talk to one of them. I filled the withdrawal slip, after that I was on the queue waiting to get to my turn. I just heard one of them talking to the security. Saying, 'She wants to block her Atm, isn't that urgent?' The security just directed the second lady to the customer service room, while the one who talked was standing behind waiting for her turn. To be honest, her voice and the way she spoke was what actually caught my attention towards her. After I was done with the withdrawal, I went straight to the one standing.

Me:Good afternoon.
Precious : Good afternoon.
Me: I noticed you while I was there, and I will like to know more about you.
Precious : Why?
Me: I like the way you speak, and I will love to get to know you better.
Precious : You are just hearing me speaking.
Me: I heard you speaking while I was standing there.
Are you not a Nigerian?
Precious :Why?
Me: Because of your accent.
Precious : A lot of things contributed to it.
Precious : What do you do?
Me: I'm a Baker.
Precious : How is your baking business?
Me: I work as a baker.
Precious : Okay. You work as a Baker.
Me: What do you do for work?
Precious : I'm a Graphic Designer.
Me: Can I get your number to know you more?
Precious : You can talk to me here.
Me: How will I be able to connect with you more?
Precious : Hmm, I don't give out my number like that.
Me: You never can know. You never can tell.
Precious : You never can tell.
Me: Just give it a try.
Precious : Okay. I will give you a number.

** I gave her my phone to type her number. After she was done, she returned it back to me. **

Me: I mistakenly canceled it.
Precious : You see that's a sign.
Me:Just give it to me.

**She collected my phone and typed her number again. **
Precious : How old are you?
Me: I'm 27.
Precious : I'm 30
Me: You see it's still okay.
Precious : Yeah.
Me: Is this your WhatsApp number?
Precious : Yes.

I dialed the number and it rang. I asked of her name again, and she said it is Precious. I walked out of the bank thereafter. I don't know, but the girl seems not to be in my level, even apart from the age difference, she was holding two expensive smartphones. One is Iphone and the second one is an android. Let see how it goes though.

My Experience Getting A New Past Question

The more you have the more you give. On the other hand, the less you have you might not even give. I bought a past question for 1,600 Naira and I gave the woman 1,700. I told her to keep the change. The next thing I heard was, " Big boy. " I told her that it is just 100 Naira. The next thing she said was, "Come and collect pen." I was like you are just trying to return the favor and she said, " okay, thank you." That was when I realized I needed a pen. I just gave her 100 Naira for the pen. Why I'm saying this was because I could remember last year while I was still doing my phone repair service. Then, I was poorer than the rat staying in church. I literally begged everybody for say 200 Naira everyday. Either for transport fare, or feeding. There are some girls I find attractive as well, but I couldn't talk to them about my feelings, because I was not confident enough. Just so you know, the less you have the less you give.

Almost Got into Trouble at Work

I was at work on Tuesday, sitting outside the bakery. Let me say the compound. The Slicer Manager who don't usually come regularly saw me and asked what I was doing outside. I told him I was fasting and weak. He told me me to come, because I was a bit far from where he was. I stood up and walked to him. When I got to his place, he left to call our bakery supervisor. They both came to where I was standing and he started like this.

Slicer manager: This boy is not ready. I saw him sitting outside while others are working.
Me: No, sir!
Bakery supervisor : What did I tell you?
Slicer manager: What are you doing outside?
Me: I am weak. I didn't say I'm not working. I'm the one covering the pan. It has not get to my turn.
Slicer manager: This boy is not ready.
Me: Someone was in the toilet I was waiting for the person to come out.
Slicer manager: Shut up. You're lying.

After he said that, he kept on ranting for a while. I was just looking at him and didn't utter a word. He then left me and and the supervisor. The supervisor just signaled me to go inside. After the incident I was just laughing. What actually saved me that day was how fast I spoke and even lied that I was waiting for someone who was in the toilet. Which makes him kind of confused on what to do. Right now I'm thinking of studying law when I get to the university.

I Think I Found My Treasure

On Tuesday, after I finished praying (solat), I left the mosque and headed to where I was going to get Garri. When I got there, I asked him how much for half paint. He said 1200 Naira. I told him to bring it. After he was done, I asked for his bank name and he said Opay. I also asked for his account number which he called. When I was done with the transfer, I told him to confirm it and he said he had to call his boss for confirmation. He called him the first time, and he said his boss wanted to check it. While waiting, I saw this dark skinned girl, wearing pink sleeveless gown with a school bag on her back. I got interested in her immediately. But because the transfer I did has not been confirmed yet. I told the guy to call his boss again, which he did and said it might be network, that he has not received it yet. While all this was happening I was watching the girl and saw her walked into the street I stay. For me not to lose her, I had to give the guy cash and told him he's owing me 1,200 Naira. Which he said yes to. I left immediately and walked fast.

As I got into the street. I could barely see her, but with the help of the light coming from vehicles passing by, I was able to see her. I continued walking closer to her (I even passed the house I stay). As I almost got to her, she stopped and started talking to a friend. I walk past her hoping she was going down the street. I waited for 20 minutes straight, and she's still not done talking to her friend. Due to how dark where I was staying was, a woman came to ask me who I was looking for using Yoruba language. At that point, I knew forming won't help the situation. So, I just replied her back in Yoruba and said I was waiting for someone. she said, 'Okay. ' and went back to where she was sitting. I left and started walking back home.

She was still with her friend while I walk past her the second time. When I got home I dropped the Garri I bought and changed my dressing to a casual one. I went out again and sat in front of a shop beside the house that I stay. It's not up to 5 minutes that I got there before she started to leave. I stood up immediately and did as if I was walking. I don't want to talk to her in front of where I stay to avoid unnecessary story. I was walking slowly so she could be at my front. When she got to the junction of my street, she turned to the right. That was when I began cooking. I started with 'Good evening.' She turned back to look at who was talking. I continued with can you give me a minute, and it seemed like she wanted to stay, but when I got beside her she continued walking. I said, 'I saw you from over there and to be honest your beauty really caught my attention.' She laughed and said, 'You did not see me.' I told her that I'm being honest, and continued with 'I'd love to get to know you better and I want us to be friends.' She's giving attitude like she is interested at the same time not interested. I repeated, 'I'd love to get to know you better.' I didn't hear her response clearly but continued with, 'I'm Ade.' and she said, 'What?' I replied back with 'My name is Ade, what is your name?' She said her name is Treasure. There's a street next to mine. When we got to the junction of that street she said, 'This is where I'm passing.'

I unlocked my phone and tapped on Phone. I gave it to her and said 'Put your number here.' She collected it, and while she was typing her number, she gave it back to me and said 4 is not showing. I collected it and told her to call the number. After she was done, I dialed it and told her to bring her phone out for me to be sure. She did so and her phone was ringing. I just turned back and returned home happily.
