Oga Police Something unusual happened today. This afternoon while I was going to write exam I noticed some police ahead of me doing their stop and search. The road is under construction so I couldn't move fast. The way the police were standing when I moved closer to them, I was left with no option than to pass in between them that was when one of them touched my clothes and try to pinch me a little then he said "why you still dey use bicycle" I couldn't grab what he said immediately until I moved further. I just laughed immediately I realized what he said. Meaning they couldn't get money from me because I'm using bicycle. In the evening while going home, I picked up something for someone on Uber and I was heading to the drop off location when someone just stood in front of me and said I should move to the side of the road. I obeyed him and did exactly what he said. He told me he wanted to see what was inside my bag that was when I asked him I need to know who he was. He brought out his ID card and I realized he was a police officer. I opened and brought the item I was supposed to deliver. He asked what's inside and I said I didn't know. He said that were you not supposed to know the content of what you picked. He wanted to open it and I told him he shouldn't because it was sealed that was when another police man wearing uniform collected it from the first man and said I should call the person who owns it. I couldn't move freely because of my bicycle and I was scared he would disappeared. I called the person and let her know that I was with the police and they wanted to check what's inside the thing I picked up for her. She told me that it's just clothes that they shouldn't open it. I told her she needs to come and collect it herself that was when she agreed and said that they could open it. I told the police man what's inside and that he can open it he said he already knew what's inside that he just wanted to know if we would allow him to open it or the owner wanted to waste their time by coming to the station. They gave me back and I rode off. |
My New Shoes In preparation for WAEC and also considering the delivery work I’m into after the exam, I decided to buy safety boots. My first exam was on Tuesday, and since then I have been getting a lot compliment like “ I like this your shoe oo” even the security at the bank couldn’t help but notice how good theshoes are. The funny thing is that the shoes are not even up to nine thousand naira on Jumia with shipping fee, and it’s also waterproof.

Getting Arsenal Jersey It's no longer news that Aresnal is the premier league winner of 25/26 season and as a result of that they have trending lately. For me to join the trend I bought their away jersey which I'm going to wear on sallah day. As a Manchester united fan I'm happy for them. Had it been it's Chelsea which is one of the biggest rivals of Manchester United I would feel indifferent. This evening after closing from work, on my way home I stopped at a market. The first shop I visited, I met a guy outside and I told him I wanted to buy Aresnal jersey and he said fifteen thousand naira I told him the white one and he said seventeen thousand naira. The guy looked like a reseller so I didn't bother negotiating. He was calling me back and I told him not to worry. I got to another shop and they told me the red one is twelve thousand naira while the white one is fifteen thousand naira. I open my bank app and told the guy I have fourteen thousand naira, he said fifteen thousand naira is the last price. He was acting if I didn't buy another person will. Of course I met two people inside who also wanted to buy Aresnal jersey and one of them transferred money to him as I was entering. I didn't know how much he paid for it. I left the shop because I knew if he can't sell it because of one thousand naira difference other vendors will. I noticed a man who hung different jerseys on umbrella and I sighted the away arsenal jersey. When I got there, I pointed to the jersey and he said it's seventeen thousand naira. I told him I have thirteen thousand naira and he said it's fifteen thousand naira last. I was about to leave when he said that I should buy from him. I told him he should also please sell it for me. He agreed and I transferred the money. I now have top to wear on sallah day it's remaining trousers, I should get that tomorrow.

Random Thought If I no get money e go pain me oo! |
Relationship Palava I think someone need to tell me how relationship works in Nigeria, because I don't understand why someone I met on Thursday is asking me money for food on Monday, and this is someone that prefers being friends before going to relationship. As a proper Gehgeh student, I declined. I don't care if she's no longer interested in the relationship; Life continues with or without her. I thought she was intelligent, now I realized how dumb she could be. Funniest part was that I'm getting to like her.

Blessing Today after getting Gbemisola number , later in the day while I was sitting down. I noticed a lady passing by, and I playfully said "see as this sister fine" in a way that she could hear. She looked back and smiled then continued with her walk. I was contemplating between talking to her or not. After she had walked a bit far I decided to talk to her and ran towards her. She is a little bit fair, slim with average height. Me: Hi! How're you doing? Blessing: I'm fine. Me: I will like to know you, what's the name? Blessing: Blessing. Me: I'm Daniel. Blessing: Daniel? Me: But you can call me Oludaniel Blessing: Which name is that? Me: That's what they gave me. (Blessing still looking surprised.) Me: You know what, you can also call me babe. She smiled, then call out babe. I handed her my phone then ask her to give me her number. I asked where she is staying and she said 1st Avenue, she asked "what about you?" I told her then went back to where I was sitting. |
April Paycheck Uber= 101,648 naira Chowdeck = 145,261 naira Total earnings = 246909 naira Bicycle maintenance = 11,000 naira Net earnings = 235609 April has been a good month, and I pray May will be better Inshallah. |
Gbemisola Today I was on my way to pick up when a lady sitting under a big umbrella shouted Airtel Sim. Her beauty caught my attention immediately I looked her. I turned back and asked how much for a sim and she said five hundred naira. I asked what if I wanted to retrieve and she said that would be one thousand five hundred naira. I asked if they would be coming tomorrow but she said they'll be going to another place. The next thing I said was "you look beautiful though and I will like to know you more." She smile and said are you not registering sim? I said no that's it's her number I want. She gave me her number, I asked for her name before I left.

Abigail Should I say I have found love again? Maybe not yet. I met Abigail two weeks ago on my way to deliver, The road is kind of block so I had to use my leg while holding my bicycle when I noticed her. She is a thick, not too tall woman with dark skin and well braided hair. I approached her compliment her a little then collected her number before we parted ways. I like the way she has been resiprocating, because it doesn't feel one sided. Luckily, her place is not far from where I stay. I've been to her place twice. |
TyroneKyle:Had it been this guy was the one who delivered it by boarding a bus, would he had asked for refund after paying the conductor because he didn't meet the customer? |
Ingrate Fella Something crazy just happened this evening. I was unable to deliver two frozen chickens because I couldn't reach the customer I had to return it. I was actually expecting a woman because she was the that handled the item to me. When I got there it was a man who came out. I handled the item back to him, he was about to return when I asked would he not give me something. He said that because I didn't come back immediately and it doesn't show on the app that they're supposed to pay me that he wasn't going to that I should be going. I asked him if it was my fault that the person didn't answered my call when I got there, and I waited with the hope that he was going to answer. He said I should have called him that they were also trying to reach me but they couldn't. I told him I don't have access to their number once I confirm pick up. He said they already sent another chicken to the person. I let him know I wasn't going anywhere If he doesn't pay me. He said if I entered with him that he was going to lock me up and call the police. I told him to call the police, and ask if he thinks I don't have family. He said I should not shout. I dropped and hung my bag on my bicycle handle; I Kept my phone in my pocket and I was ready to fight. When I realized he was standing to either waste my time or leave me suddenly. I dragged the chicken from his hand. He said if I wanted to go with it I can go with it. I left thinking of where to keep the chicken but couldn't find any place because I don't know people that much. I called my mum and she said I should return it that God will provide it for me in another way, I did as she said. I gave their security to help me give it to them. |
UTME Result I got a message from my sister telling me JAMB result is out, and she explained to me on how to check it. After checking it, I got more than 200 which actually made me happy. On the other hand, I scored 62 in English and literature when I was expecting 70. I kept asking myself how did I get 62. I'm still confused till now. Anyway, a win is a win.

Getting a New Power Bank I went to deliver at Ikeja on Tuesday. On my way coming, I decided to stop at Oraimo store close to Ikeja with the hope of getting a power bank at a cheaper price. When I got there, I was attended to by a lady. Attendant: What do you want? Me: power bank. Attendant: what battery capacity? Me: 30,000 Mah. We moved to where it's arranged. Me: How much is it? Attendant : 35,000 Naira. I was looking shocked Attendant: What's your budget? Me: 20,000 Naira. Attendant: We have 20,000Mah and that goes for 19,500 Naira. Me: I don't want 20,000Mah. I just left the shop. I knew the price was too expensive, but at the time I can't enter Computer Village because of my bicycle. On my way home after writing UTME on Thursday, I went to Computer Village. There's this particular store I patronize. When I got there I asked for 30,000Mah power bank and the girl who attended to me brought one Oraimo and she said it was 24,000 Naira, but I can take it for 23,500 Naira. I asked if that's the only brand they have. she showed me another Itel power bank with the same price and battery capacity. I went for the Oraimo because I already have an Itel power bank. I plan to spend twenty thousand on power bank but the price I got at the Oraimo store was too expensive, that was why I didn't bother to negotiate the price I was told at Computer Village. Ten thousand naira is something.

Survival Yeah it’s definitely going to be survival. I was literally begging, mostly my colleagues at work for five hundred naira sometimes two hundred naira. Funny thing was we were all into phone repairing, and I’m better than some when it comes to repairing of phone. My mom was helping a little but it comes with insult that my mate are the ones giving their parents money. God I’m grateful for who I am today.

March Earnings Uber 92664 + Chowdeck 78277= 170941 Maintenance fee - 19600 Net earning - 151,341 Hmmmmmmm! So I made a total of one hundred and seventy thousand naira. Though I didn't not spend much on repairing bicycle. But what seems to be like a mystery is what I spend the money on without saving any money from it. May be I'll figure it out later. Apart from the money I spent on bicycle, I only bought a jersey of ten thousands Naira and a bag of fourteen thousands Naira. |
Abibat There is this thing I hate about doing delivery with bicycle, and the reason is because I only look fresh when I'm just starting work. By the time I had delivered twice, I would have been covered by sweat. So, I was at this Aboki place who sells pepper. This was past six in the evening. When I got there, I met about four ladies and I was trying to figure out the one to talk to, but I was feeling low at the same time because of the way I look and the bicycle with me. I just focused on what I wanted to buy. Later all the ladies left, but there was this particular one who was sitting. All of a sudden, I opened Phone application and said "please help me to fill this real quick." She collected it and looked at it for a while before she let out a smile. She entered her number and returned the phone. "What name should I save it with?" I asked. "Habibat" She replied. The seller handed my pepper and I rode off.

Eid-il-fitr Wonder shall never end. Scratch that. Wonder still exist. I was at this particular restaurant (name withhold) with cash just to avoid network issue. "What you ordered is 5,700 Naira." Said the attendant. Oya take 6,000 Naira. Next thing I heard was we don't collect cash. Me I don't have any money apart from this cash. I was about leaving before they told me to wait. They collected the cash, and went outside to the nearest POS to transfer it to their account. Funnily, I also collected the cash using POS. Had I know. Just like I said earlier. Wonder still exist. 👉 |
Job Update I realized the money I've been spending on food is getting too much which makes it difficult to have any money left for savings. Unlike when I was still working in bakery, where I do get free breads, and all I have to do is buy beans or food that can go with bread. Even if I was broke and I'm at work, I could always eat bread with chilled water. So there's this job group I'm in where I saw a kitchen assistant post available with the salary of 100,000 Naira monthly. I dropped my CV with my picture. Yesterday I also saw a vacancy where baker is needed. I asked about it, and they told me to drop my CV today. I was there earlier in the day. I met their manager, and he just asked if I can do pastries. I told him I could only do bread. He said he will get back to me. I'll keep my fingers crossed. |
The day I know not what happened the day Turned thy app past one i'th afternoon Made only two thousand five by six Another day is the morrow |
My career My plans are just two. If I'm unable to gain admission this year, I'm going back to my phone repair. So it's either school or phone repair come next year. |
28 Days Total earning for February- 110,000 Total money spent on maintenance - 59,000 Net earning - 51,000 Dear diary, ..................I'm sure you could see what I wrote up. After riding for twenty eight days, this is what I get in return. Well, I'm still trying to familiarize myself with this environment, and I'm also studying for JAMB. If not, I would have started applying for jobs. I can't just be making money for people that repair bicycle. 51,000 a whole me. I'm still in shock. |
Cher Journal Dear diary, you wouldn't believe what happened to me today. The new tyre I bought last week had spoilt and now I have to get a new one. To even think that the one I bought before this one only last for two weeks. Dear diary, I'm fed up. Dear diary, could you just direct me to where I could get an original tyre, because everyone seems to be selling that until you buy and start using it before you discover it all lies and marketing strategy. At first first I thought I got a punctured tyre not knowing that it was the bad tyre that affected the tube. I gave a nearby vulcanizer only to find out that it was the tire that caused the whole thing. I will be out tomorrow to get a new one. |
Train I'm just tired of the sound of train. Even at this time they're are working, and they pass every 5 minutes unlike Ikeja that have their specific time, like say 8 a.m. then the next one will be 10 a.m.. The funniest thing is that the railway is exactly at the back of where I stay. God! |
The Strange Encounter I Had Today Chowdeck: Each delivery is called an order. Uber: Each delivery is called a trip. I had just finished my first trip, while waiting for another one, a trip popped up and I accepted it. The customer messaged me saying it's a smoke, and it's a small one. It was the customer that placed the trip. He said he was going to add extra money for the trip. I wasn't sure of what to do. Although, I was heading to the pick up location. A lot of things were going through my mind. I was thinking as a muslim it's not permissible, and at the same time I'm fasting. Secondly, what if I was stopped and they found smoke in my bag. It might be a set up, who knows. On the other hand, I was thinking it's just a smoke, I should collect it and take the extra money, it's not as if I will be the one to smoke it. No one will stop me as a bicycle rider. When I got to the pick up location, I messaged the customer, and he gave me the number of who to call. I still don't believe it's not a set up. I canceled the trip. Though I was still at the pick location. I sat with a rider. Minutes later, I saw a guy came to where we were staying and shook the rider while smuggling the smoke in his hand. While the guy was leaving, I asked for the app he was using, and he said Uber. I told him I also worked for Uber. The guy who gave him the smoke heard this and turned back. He asked the rider am I the second rider because he was expecting two riders. He said no that I was just sitting down. He looked at me. I told him I was just sitting there. They both left. Not long after another trip popped up. I accepted it and left the place. |
How was my day? Let me start with the good one. I was able to create an Uber account for my delivery successfully. Which means I will be starting work tomorrow, Inshallah! I met a guy who live very close to me riding a bicycle and I stopped him. I asked if he was a Chowdeck rider to which he replied in the affirmative. I told him I'm also a Chowdeck rider, but I couldn't get any order due to the location set on my profile. He gave me the address of where to meet the supervisor in charge, and I collected the guy number. I saw him later, and he said he was going to take me there. He messaged me when he was around. I dressed up and we both went with our bicycle. When we got to the restaurant, he asked if the supervisor was around, and they said he had not come around. I told him to ask if anyone had his number. Fortunately on of them had the number, and I collected it. I have messaged him, but I haven't gotten any response up until now. I left the guy there. On my way home I waited for a car to make a u turn, after the car had passed I wanted to move but look back briefly and saw this tricycle moving fast I waited and shouted " You dey mad?" The tricycle rider stopped and was coming for a fight. I immediately dropped my bicycle in the middle of the road, moved back and try to set out punch for a fight. While I was doing this, he was getting closer to me saying "Is it me you wanted to fight boxing with?" He's one of these thugs, and he started cursing me with Yoruba language. I was moving back, but at the same time ready for a fight, but it seems he wanted to be sure if was going to prove stubborn or apologize. I apologize then he left. My heart was just pumping fast while I rode my bicycle home. |
Two Days in My New Apartment I moved in to my new apartment yesterday and to be honest different emotions have been running all over me ( if there's a word like that). I got here past nine in the evening went straight to my room while carrying some loads along with me, then someone came out and asked if I was the one that rented that room, to which I replied in the affirmative. He continued by saying baba ( the landlord) had been talking about me. I left him to continue moving my things inside. On getting inside the second time, he asked if I had called the landlord. I told him I haven't and that's because I didn't have his number. He went on saying I have to call him first. I said "It's not as if I'm running,he will definitely come and meet me here." After I had moved all my things inside, he said I should follow him to go and meet the landlord. When we got to where he expected him to be , we didn't meet him there. Then he said I still had to meeting him first. I told him that there are words that I'd have said by now if not because I'm trying to respect the first time we met. Not long after, he sighted the man where he was standing. We both went to where he was standing. He greeted both of us . He told me to wait while he attended to the guy that brought me. I told the man that he was the one I met and he said I have to see him. Then he replied by saying no problem and asked if I have moved in fully. I said "Yes." As we were leaving, the guy was saying something like you know I can’t just let you in just like that. In my mind I was like that’s none of my business. I ate , slept and woke up. I needed water this morning, I didn’t have any water so I went to where I was going to fetch water. I paid the man money for two buckets. There are two taps side by side. I met aboki there using one of them. He was standing in front of me. While I fetched my water on the second tap. The aboki left while still fetching water. When he was coming back he told me to excuse him, He didn’t even allow me to say he should hold on a bit before he tried to push me aside. I pushed him back immediately. The owner of the place stood up and said I just came that I should have waited for him. I told the man “ I’m new here, I don’t know this is how it’s done” . I told him if he didn’t see where the the aboki pushed me that why is he not addressing that. He kept saying if I meet someone there I have to wait for my turn. I asked the man if it was them he wanted to support and that he was bias with his judgement. The next I knew was he handed over my money to me and said I should leave. I just said " Oya no vex." He withdrew his hand and allowed me to fetch the water. I was angry, but I didn't have any option. I fetched the water and left. Later in the afternoon, when I got to the man place to fetch water. He apologized for what happened earlier, and I explained again to him what really happened. He said he didn't see the where the guy hit me. I introduced myself to him that I'm new to this vicinity. We chatted for while before I take my leave. |
Quick update About My Work I dropped my resignation letter at my former working place last month because I will be relocating to a new place. I'm left with delivery work. My income will reduce. It's not like I have the plan to relocate. My mom's decision in moving to Oyo state resulted to this. |
My First Ever iPhone I had been planning to get a new phone, but two things had been delaying me. Getting an apartment was the first, but after the accommodation had been sorted, there was this part of me not knowing the type of phone to buy. After I had decided to go for iPhone 12, I contacted my uncle who is a phone dealer in Oyo state. He listened to my voice message but never replied. I waited for 24 hours to be sure if he was going to reply or not, but he never did. I messaged someone I know in Computer Village who also deals with used iPhone. He replied me instantly and said he would be selling his iPhone 12 for Two hundred and sixty thousand Naira. I told him I'd be coming for the phone today. When I got to his place, he showed me different iPhone 12. The same color but the difference is the neatness. And the price ranged between 230,000 Naira to 260,000 Naira. I chose the one of 260,000 Naira. After negotiating for a while, he accepted 250,000 Naira. I transferred the money, and later bought the phone case and screen guard then left.

How I Got My First Rented Apartment Finally! I was able to secure a room apartment in my preferred location. That cost me 375,000 Naira. It wasn't easy due to the distance between where I stay currently, and where I'll be moving to. The transport fare to and from is 3,500 Naira. So you can imagine how much I spend whenever I'm being called for house inspection. I registered with two different house agents, and each of them collected 5,000 Naira. The second house agent hasn't called me up on till now. It's just like I wasted my money. I registered with him because of the pressure that was on me. Friday on the 27th of January, I was called by my house agent unexpectedly that I should start coming. I received his call past one in the afternoon, and I got to his place around 3 p.m. Funny thing was he wasn't the one in charge of the house, it was her colleague who was as well told by another colleague that a room was available. On getting to my agent place, he gave me her number which I called and she directed me to where I was going to meet her. She was the one who took me to the agent in charge of the house that later showed me the room. The house is a storey building, though it's an old building but well painted. Two rooms downstairs, and same with upstairs that was what I was to see, although I don't how many people who lived there yet. I also like the fact that it's close to the bus stop, and not far from the university I'd like to gain admission to. No negative comment for now. After I had checked the room, I was asked if I was interested or not, which I told them I'd get back to them. I called my mom afterward and told her things I did not like about the room, and she said it doesn't mean anything that I should go for it. I went back to my house agent and told him I was interested in the house. We both went to the second colleague then together we all went to the agent in charge of the house. The total amount of money was 370,000 Naira, but due to the agents involved, I was begged to add money to it. That was what make it 375,000 Naira. I'll be moving to the place next week. |
My First Rizz for the Year Today, I met this girl when I got to the customer I wanted to deliver to. I was calling the customer while standing when I noticed the girl. She was at a POS shop. When she was leaving, I signaled with my index finger that I needed a minute from her. I thought I heard something like "I'm coming.". I still haven't been able to reach the customer. Her phone was just ringing but she was not responding. When she got out of the house she entered, I asked if I could talk to her for a few minutes, and she said she wanted to go and buy food. I asked if I could follow her and she responded with "Follow me na. " . I followed her while holding my bicycle with one hand, and our conversation continued this way. Me: I'm Akinola, what's your name? Tobey: My name is Tobey! Me: You are even an Igbo girl. How does it feel to be this beautiful? She didn't respond, but looked impressed by the compliment. Me: You know you look beautiful, so I had to compliment you. I would like to know more about Tobey. She let out a smile which I don't know why. At this time she had gotten to where she would get the food and seemed distracted by that. Me: Let me have your number. Tobey: 08055435578 Don't call it now, the phone is with my mommy. Me: But I can text you on WhatsApp. Tobey: Yes. I left her then I tried calling the customer. The phone was ringing but she wasn't answering the call. I made a report on the app that I can't reach the customer. After a while , I called and this time she answered. |
