In about 10 years of my marriage, I've had countless female relatives (both from my side & my wife's) stay with us. Monogamy is the problem. Marriages face difficulties when the woman gives birth because she no longer meets the sexual needs of the man (due to trauma, increased chores, etc) or vag1nal childbirth changes the anatomy of the private part and losens it (with herbs and kegel exercise this can be corrected over a long time). Men marry multiple women so that while the childbearing wife fully recovers, her co-wife helps out sexually and visa versa. This is how the sanity of marriage was stabilized in several cultures over thousands of years… until the West cooked up the evil that polygamy is bad.
The man committed a crime if he SAed the maid. If SA is established, he should be punished or the maid heavily compensated. On the other hand, I recommend you fight for your marriage. Don’t continue the circle of divorce at the slightest reason. Remember what happened when your mum divorced your dad. This is not to say you should stay if your man continues to be a monster, but your marriage is still worth saving for the kids sake.
I recommend that society embraces polygamy to reduce these kinds of incidents in marriage. The West sold the world the lie of monogamy and we all need to change our worldview about this lie from hell demonizing polygamy.

OMG! How did you even get educated? I clearly wrote ‘most PEOPLE’ , not ALL PEOPLE who lodge with their own money. Also, this has nothing to do with those few who were lodged by their companies or due to circumstantial reasons like meeting appointments or meeting. This is a small fraction of lodgers, compared to those who book rooms personally.
How many hotel rooms are in Nigeria and what percentage of occupants are there for business and pleasure? I used to own a hotel and I know how many people come there for business, pleasure or business mixed with pleasure. Very few hotel occupants are there stricty for business.

Let me give you an example...The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria ICAN of which I am a member holds an annual convention in Abuja every year.

Members come in from other states for the event which usually lasts about 4 or 5 days. These members include married women who live in other states of Nigeria.

No everyone has friends and family who live in Abuja therefore when we get there the only option participants which includes married women is to lodge in a hotel for the duration of the convention.

Are you telling me that the married women who lodged in hotels so they could attend an out-of-town convention went there to commit adultery?!

Another is instance is when you travel to another country for business or exams or whatever and you have no relatives in that country you have to lodge in a hotel.

I remember over 15 years ago when we used to travel from Nigeria to Accra in Ghana to write the CFA exams.

Some of the candidates where married woman who came to write the professional exams, they had no choice but to seek accommodations in hotels also.

Also are you aware that most seminars, trainings, symposium and even wedding receptions are held in halls in hotels.

People who come for this events from other states which includes married women lodge in hotels for the duration of the events. Did those ones also come for fornication?

There are some jobs which require frequent travel eg if you are an external auditor or a compliance officer or inspector or advisory consultant you must travel to do your job and in most cases you have no choice but to lodge in hotels, women also do these types of jobs.

If your child gets admission in a university in a state far away from Lagos and your wife need to take the child to the school for the admission process is it not in a hotel that your wife will lodge while she is there?

What is the reason for his violence? Crime of passion and self defense are tenable under the law. Nobody deserves to be killed extrajudicially, however, details of stories like this need to be given so that others will learn from it.
