2011 is not a leap year cos it is not divisible by 4 ... Buh 2012 is a leap,which means we have a leap year every 4 years ... 8 is not in the option but 9 is include ... Which means they included 2012 ... The ans is definitely '9'

Actually when I used 2012 instead of 2011 I also got 8. Not really sure of the exact year wen this question was set,but its either 2011 or 2012. How did u arrive at ur answer tho??

That was exactly what came to my mind when I saw it. I think A leap year occurs within a 4-year interval...having known this, I've tried every possible way I can to solve it but still no answer..

2^2x × 2^3 - 33 × 2^x + 4 = 0
8 × (2^x)^2 - 33(2^x) + 4 = 0
Let 2^x = P
8P^2 - 33P + 4 = 0
8P^2 - 32P - P + 4 = 0
(8P^2 - 32P) - (P + 4) = 0
8P(P - 4) -1(P - 4) = 0
(8P - 1) (P - 4) = 0
P = 1/8 or P = 4
But 2^x = P = 1/8
2^x = 8^-1
2^x = 2^-3
x = -3
OR
2^x = P = 4
2^x = 2^2
x = 2
x = 2 or -3 which is option A.

Let me look if i can solve this question

2^2x+3 - 33.2^x + 4 = 0
for ease let the equation be
2^x2+3 - 33.2^x+ 4

Let 2^x be P
P^2.8 -33.P+4 = 0
8P^2-33P+4 = 0
8P^2 -32P -P+4 = 0
8P(P-4) -1(P-4)=0
P= 1/8 and P = 4
Remember P = 2^x

Therefore x = 2 and -3
The right option is A
Do note that the multiplication sign is rep by dot (.)

Brilliant. Uhhmm I followed all your steps with undivided attention, but at a point I got really confused. In the textbook I use(Further maths project 1) the 2^3=8 is usually left out when writing the equation quadratically. But u multiplied it by the P^2 to gv 8P^2. Why? I dunno I'm just really confused

UNILAG postUTME is just a normal CBT. For those that are good, it won't be any difficult. The questions are 40 in number comprising English, Maths & General papers.
You would need 35.25 marks in postUTME.

The general paper includes?? A friend sent me a past question. The general paper questions were quite surprising tho...

score high in your postUTME as you did in UTME, you can make it.
you already have 30.38 from UTME and the cut off mark for computer engr is
65.50

I really do appreciate your reply. What exactly does the unilag pume look like?? About how many questions?? And what score would I be needing to hit 65.5 ?

Let me assume both stones are of equal weights. If this is correct, E, C & D all die leaving A & B safe. To be more precise, D might sustain just an injury to the head. How? Here- The pushed stone rolls(hitting D in the head) down on one side of the sea-saw(killing C in the process) then the stationary stone is shot into the air in E's direction, due to the force imparted by the pushed stone on the sea-saw.
