shocked shocked pls do not use dr miracles it will destroy ur hsir even further, use aphogee line of products for damaged hair cosistently for some months you will shocked at the results.try the following.
1.wash and deep condition your hair at least once a wk.
2.stretch ur relaxer fot as long as possibly.
3.use protective styles like buns, weaves[no glue],braids to grow your hair until you get to ahealthy state.
3.limit the use of direct heat, air dry or rollerset you hair rather than blow dry.
4.use hot oil treatments every 2 wks.
5.detangle your hair when wet with conditioner, use a wide tooth comb when hair is dry.
6.moisturise and use leave ins daily.
7.make sure your hair is tied down at night[satin scarfs].
will add some more tips later.

I am not an expert,am just learning to take care of my hair like others so let me tell you what works for me, i usually divide my braids into about six part(depending on size of braids)i dilute my shampoo into a very runy consistency, spray onto my scalp, massage gently and rinse out,as always with washing hair the scalp is the most important part not the lenght of the hair.I (me) dont deep condition my braid, i just condition and wash out by the end of my shower, but some people do so whatever works for you.btw the braid spray has moisturisers in it so its not all oil.@sissy am great.

@eja if u could find a braid spray that would do,african royale has a good one, but then again your method might work if you can get it to a sprayable consistency. @sissy how u doin!

Thats what i said, salicylic acid takes care of acne, but not necessarily the scars or spots left behind, just an observation because i noticed sacilcylic acid was recomended for spots and scars.
FashionRe: Product Reviews: Stop Wasting Money! Beauty Products That Actually Work by ubiaa5(f): 6:31pm On Apr 23, 2010
ladies i have read several articles that says salicylic acids(bha) is geared towards acne rather than spots or blemishes, and glycolic acid(aha) is best for spots, blemishes or scars whats the deal, who knows.
FashionRe: Hair Questions! Post Them Here by ubiaa5(f): 6:14pm On Apr 23, 2010
i use affirm or design essentials(lye) at the salon, when i self relax which i do more often now to save money(yeah) i use ors olive oil(no lye).on day one my hair is all sleek and shiny and all,but one wash later its back to square one. i do flat iron my hair but not very often, usually when i have someone to help, for the life of me i cant wrangle my hands round to the back of my hair.
my dear if you want to talk to or see a stubborn hair contact my hair directly lol. our own love hate relationship na die. i don't have a certain length in mind and am not trying to get a certain one, i just want it healthy, length is the least of my hair priorities. its braids and very good flat iron, good conditioner and am still trying to get myself into trying/more weavons, they help with stretching if youre into it and anything protective styles . i was looking into brazilian keratin treatment but not anymore.am satisfied with other various protective styles. i think you can stretch it longer, if you really plan it out. how long do you usually carry your braid?

i swear am extremely lazy for all these natural mixing things embarassed sad embarassed. i hail una sha grin
there is no way your hair is more stubborn than mine, i am yet to find a relaxer that will properly straighten my hair, when ever i relax my hair goes back to almost natural after the first wash,i have given up at this point, anyway i still havent been able to get on the weave bandwagon,i have had one, once in my life and that was for my wedding,it just feels so artificial, but i like it on others tho. I keep my braids btwn 6 -8 ks.i also love buns,my hair is quite long ,so i do a sock bun all the time.
FashionRe: Hair Questions! Post Them Here by ubiaa5(f): 6:59pm On Apr 21, 2010
good for u sissy,my hair is so bushy, going 4 mths is a long strech for me,usually my hair is in braids after the second mth,so what other stuffs do you do or use to mentain your hair,do you have a certain lenght or goal in mind or do u just want it healthy.
FashionRe: Hair Questions! Post Them Here by ubiaa5(f): 5:08pm On Apr 20, 2010

FashionRe: Hair Questions! Post Them Here by ubiaa5(f): 8:35pm On Apr 19, 2010
^^^ you can say that again the smell is terrible but it gets the job done, how long have you gone without relaxing,i always try to strech my relaxer btn 12 -16 wks.Cant advice on using aphogee if your hair is long overdue, but if you do,dont leave on longer than neccesary.

yea, i dont do it all the time only when i feel the need for it. do you do it too?
i am a relaxie (grin) so i do the protein treatment a wk before my relaxer,it helps give my hair strenght after, wish i knew this a long time ago,btw i use aphogee two step protein treatment.
FashionRe: Hair Questions! Post Them Here by ubiaa5(f): 4:51pm On Apr 17, 2010
Nice one sissy, little warning tho on the protein conditioners, too much protein can cause breakage,so will want to determine if your hair needs protein or moisture, always balance both.

Your best bet would be to actually watch it being made, dont think you will get a complete feel for it by reading a literature.

FashionRe: Black Hair Does Grow. Let's Prove It! by ubiaa5(f): 4:57pm On Apr 16, 2010
shilling:
I'm going to get that wild growth oil, I just checked out reviews and they've been amazing. So you still use the wild growth oil on your hair when it's braided? By the way, many reviews said that it kinda has a weird smell, true? What's the name of the olive oil lotion you use?
Oh my gosh, do you mean you've had those locks for 17 months? If so, that's amazing!! I would love to get 'em since they last forever - very economical (college student  wink) but, if it's permanent, I'm not so sure.
you shouldnt take the wild growth literally, according to the manufacturers website it is meant to tame new growth which usually comes out wild and unrully,so what it does is it soften the hair and make it manageable,i used it for a while a few yrs ago and noticed the softness,my growth rate was the same didnt notice any miraculous changes, not to discourage u,but just to let you know there is really no miracle when it come to gowing your hair just take good care of it,have a healthy hair care regimen and be patient it will grow.
FashionRe: Hair Questions! Post Them Here by ubiaa5(f): 4:40pm On Apr 16, 2010
Ladies if you have split ends the best way to take care of them is to cut them off,if not it will travel all the way down to the roots and break it off.to avoid future reoccurence try the following tips.
1.Try not to over manipulate your hair too much, use wide tooth combs on your hair and boar bristle brushes.
2.If your hair is shoulder length, put it in an updo to avoid it brushing against your cloths, the friction will cause your hair to split and break.
3.Always tie your hair with a silk scarf or bonnet before going to bed at night to avoid tangles and friction against your pillow.
4.Finaly avoid or use heat sparingly, instead of blow dryers and flat iron try to rollerset your hair, that way your tips are hidden during the drying process.
If your have more tips pls add.

Ejadamen:
I checked, no petroleum. Not sure if there was mineral oil but will check again.
sori since its oil u should use it to seal, your moisturiser should be of a lotion consistency.

No one to answer my question? huh
i remember emily millionier,i am sure the ingredients include petroleum and mineral oil which only coat the hair rather than penetrate which is not good for ur hair,so i dont advice you use it,but it would be a moisturiser any way.
@ bluespice i have been using mane and tail for a few months,i wouldnt say it helps with growth, but if u have thin hair it will definately give it volume and strenght because it has some light protein ingredients.you can get it at walgreens and at walmart in the pet section.
