Where did you buy the pump from? Was it in Zuba? Go to Apo or Gudu spare parts market, you will find better and cleaner spare parts.

The whining noise is often caused by a low fluid level or worn out pump.

Have you checked the level of fluid in it?

A complete replacement of the pump may be the solution if it isn't caused by insufficient fluid.

I forgot to add that you should take time to test drive the car you plan to purchase. If the fuel tank is on reserve, seek permission from the owner who is sitting next to you to buy more fuel (I usually buy 10litres). While driving, observe the gear selection, is it smooth and timely or with an unusual sound and drags on?

Lookout for the warning lights that appears on the instrument cluster.

Drive into a wheel balance and alignment center, seek for permission to use their pit (especially when they have less cars to attend to), go down the staircase and have a good look underneath the car, watch out for oil spills, rust, dangling wires/sensors .......

Sourcing for a car is a tricky one especially when it is a Nigerian used car.

None of the guys I know are willing to sell their Accords at this time.

Happy searching, don't be in a hurry to pay for a car because it is cheap, take your time to verify every information given about the car, don't believe stories like 'the AC works, only needs gas', scan the car and look up online (lots of youtube videos on autos) the warning codes that comes up, go with someone who is technically sound to inspect the car.

It depends on the roads you have to drive on. The Civic, though with a better fuel economy, is low and will not tolerate bad and bumpy roads.

The Accord, if it is Nigerian used, lookout for one that is well maintained. Some of them on the market have issues like having to top engine oil at regular intervals. Be ready to spend more on quality spare parts for the Accord so it does not leave you stranded on a Monday morning when driving to meet up your Court appearance.

For the Avalon, I like it's shape, it's a rugged car but not friendly with fuel consumption.

Already opted for an A6 2010. All thanks to Deltel Car should land November. My A4 Is also in a perfect condition though have seen the best of the ride in less than a year. Dine 180/200km on it and nothing to look out for again or try.
