Water is an essential part of our existence. As humans, we are two third water composed and we must maintain that water content to stay healthy.

Now, without water energy obtained from metabolic activities cannot get transported to essential parts and organs of the body for proper functioning. Wastes can't get removed, circulation in the lymphatic system is almost impossible etc.

One can go without food for a while(stating facts) and suffer no problems really worse than weight loss but try doing that with water and see the havoc it wrecks.

We often mistake thirst for hunger, which isn't supposed to be. I'll encourage you take a glass of water first when you think you are feeling hungry and watch the outcome.

It's worthy of note that you do not rely on thirst to tell you when you need more water.
Do not substitute water for fizzy drinks!
