Crime / Crazy Monkeys Have S@X While Standing On Tourist's Lap | Photos & Video by udilaw: 1:39pm On Dec 10, 2018
Monkeys never cease to display amzaing behaviours most time they come around.

This is the hilarious moment a pair of randy monkeys decided a woman’s lap was a suitable place to satisfy their urge.

The shocked tourist didn’t know what to do with herself as the pair got down to it in the Sangeh Monkey Forest in Bali, Indonesia.

A female long-tailed macaque had climbed onto the holiday maker’s knee, and her friends pulled out their cameras to film the moment.

But a nearby male promptly joined his mate and shamelessly made his move – all while balanced on the poor girl’s legs.

Education / Price Of JAMB Form Remains #5000 - Here's Why by udilaw: 9:29am On Dec 08, 2018
JAMB Update | JAMB 2019 – Registration To begin January 2019

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has confirmed it will commence registration for the 2019/ 2020 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) in January.

The Chairman of the governing Board, Dr. Emmanuel Ndukwe announced the new date to newsmen in Abuja on Wednesday, during a ceremony to celebrate some staff of the board who retired recently.

Some unverified report had claimed that JAMB would begin registration in December. But JAMB debunked it as fake news.

The registration fee is N3,500 as approved by the Federal Government recently.

Ndukwe explained that the reduction followed recommendations made by management and board of JAMB to the government because it was becoming difficult for some parents to raise the N5,000 currently charged by the board.

While commending the government for approving the reduction, Ndukwe said that the reduction may affect the board’s remittance to the federal government in the coming year.

“You are aware that the federal government has reduced the cost of JAMB forms from N5,000 to N3,500 but it is going to take effect from next year.

“Therefore, if we start selling the forms today, we will still sell at the cost of N5,000 because the approval does not cover for now, that is why we have shifted the sale of the forms to any date from first of January.

“It is a very good move from the federal government based on our recommendations.

” Even though we are returning money to the coffers of the Federal Government, our primary objective is not just to make money.

” That money is coming from somewhere and it is difficult for some people to raise that money and pay for the forms, even though JAMB form is among the cheapest in the whole world,” he said.

Ndukwe also said that the 2018/ 2019 admissions had so far been offered to 470,000 candidates while adding that the process, was ongoing.

He added that the board would fully implement the Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) in its subsequent process of admissions as it was “the best thing that will happen to education in Nigeria.”

” If any child is qualified, CAPS system will guarantee that he or she is admitted.

CAPS will come into full operation from 2019. You don’t need to know anybody to have admission and that is our mission now,” he added.

Car Talk / 10 Common Car Problems And How To Fix by udilaw: 7:29am On Dec 07, 2018
When you're working on your car, it's important that you have the proper tools, the proper instruction, and the proper safety gear. Rule No. 1: Don't work on a car when right after you turned it off or when it's running.

This is because pipes are piping hot (just accept it), caps and fluids are under a lot of pressure, and liquids aren't at accurate levels for measurement. You'll just end up hurting yourself. Wait for about an hour and make some ice tea or hot chocolate for yourself, depending on the weather.

If you're serious about investing time and effort into this, we suggest purchasing these items:

Car Service Manuals - These essentially tell you how to completely tear your car down and put it back together in excellent visual and textual detail. Extremely useful in trying to figure out how to get to a part or how to take something apart.
Basic garage tool kit: A car jack, support stands, complete sets of open-end and socket wrenches, complete sets of phillips and Igbo screwdrivers, drain pan, and a complete set of pliers.
A Multimeter - This is an important tool for testing electrical current throughout the car.
An OBD Code Reader- These might seem expensive, but you plug this into your car, and it will tell you exactly what the problem is, when your "Check Engine" light comes on.
In no particular order, below are some very common car problems you need to know how to fix

Flat Tire:

Having a flat tyre feels as creeping and annoying as the flat tyre looks. Flat tyres are quite annoying especially when you are working under a schedule and you have that all important date or the multi-million dollar business deal meeting to catch up with.

Symptoms: Your car is tilting, and there is a loud thumping noise

Fix: If you're not strong enough, that's one thing, but this is something any capable human being with common sense should be able to figure out. In your trunk, you have a spare tire. Within that spare tire is usually a small car jack with a built-in lever and lug nut ratchet. Put the jack on a stable part of the frame (no plastic pieces!), pump up the car, remove the lug nuts and put the donut on. Just make sure you adequately tighten the nuts, and slowly bring down the jack.

A Dead Battery

Ever tried putting On your car and all it does is to keep giving you the 'laughing cry' without the car coming on?

Symptoms: Your car won't start

Fix: You will need a tester or charger at your house, to make sure the battery is actually the problem and not the starter or alternator. If there's any corrosion, clean that off with a metal brush. Unbolt the negative terminal first, then the positive. There might also be a ground wire that you'll need to take off. Then, put the new one in. It's that simple.

Head or Tail Lights Out

Symptoms: Well at this point, the common symptom is a very sharp abdominal pain. Just kidding. The blinkers blink faster, or you know, you won't see it lighting up.

Fix: If you don't want to figure it out yourself, all you have to do is ask somebody at a car shop which type of bulb you need, based on which make or model you have. If you have a basic vehicle, you DO NOT need the ultra premium lights. Once you have the bulbs, you can usually pop lights out of the back of the housing, and (with the car turned off), unplug the old bulb. Slide the new one in, and you're good to go.

Faulty Side Mirror
Symptoms: Your blind spot just got a lot bigger

This one is a little hard to explain without showing you a diagram, so we dug up the image below to show you how minimal the work is for replacing a side-view mirror. We see hanging mirrors, broken mirrors, makeup replacement mirrors all too often. In reality, we should never see it, considering how easy they are to replace on our own.

Faulty Spark Plugs

Symptoms: Hard starts or rough idles

Fix: Spark plugs basically do the work of sparking the combustion in your engine. If the spark plugs are all gunked-up or misfiring, the engine won't be running and starting properly. This is where the deep sockets come into play (even better, if they're magnetic).

Pop off the covers, unscrew those puppies, and put some new, clean ones in there. Unless the engine is extremely far back in the bay to the point where you can't access the plugs without a lot more work, this is something you can easily do.

Crime / Lady Runs Mad At Ijebu Ode After Being Dropped Off by udilaw: 9:25pm On Nov 30, 2018
Lately, the number of people who either run mad or die in mysterious ways seem to be on the high side. The most recent is that of a lady identified to be a student of AAUA who ran mad after being dropped off by someone in a Lexus jeep around Ijebu ode.

Most people still attribute this to the get-money-quick attitude of some ladies who never cease to fall prey to Yahoo+ boys, G+ boys who are now ritualists undercover.

According to the Twitter user @manlikeDee1, the said lady immediately ran mad after coming down from a the Lexus jeep. The Nigerian who insinuated that she must have been jinxed from an outing with the wrong set of people also took the opportunity to weigh in on the issue.

From the words of the guy, several parties were to be blamed for the incident that happened to the lady. Although @manlikeDee1 did not think it right to share the video of the lady, he gave a detailed information about his view on what happened to the girl.

Politics / 40 Percent Of My Appointments Would Go To Youths - Atiku by udilaw: 11:22am On Nov 22, 2018
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2019 election presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has disclosed that if elected, 70% of his appointments would go to youths and women.

He stated this on Wednesday in Yola while addressing a group of youths who organised a solidarity rally to endorse his candidature.

Abubakar said 40 percent of appointments would go to youths, while 30 percent would go to women.

He pointed out that “The remaining 30 percent will be managed by the elderly,”

While pleading with the youths to vote for PDP for better life, the former vice president noted that their votes were vital for his victory as they constituted about 70% of the nation’s voting population.

Celebrities / HIV Positive South African Celebrities | Male & Female by udilaw: 5:46pm On Nov 21, 2018
Living with HIV can be scary but not as scary as coming out to publicly accept the fact that you are living with it. To many, coming out publicly to disclose their positive status is a big NO, that’s quite alright because it takes a whole lot of bravery and courage to do that especially for celebrities who their life is always on the spotlight.

The fear of disclosure of ones’ HIV status is not far-fetched as we all know the implications that comes with that especially discrimination.
While most people openly share their diagnosis with family and friends, others prefer to tell just one or two people they trust. Both are fine – it’s totally up to you.

Most times, we often forget there are several ways of contracting the virus, such as the negligence of doctors who carry out transfusions without testing their blood.

In this article, we have compiled a list of some South African celebrities who have defied the odds and come out publicly to disclose their status on HIV (positive). Most of them say they do this to encourage others to come out and not die in silence.

Below is the list of some of these celebrities;

Thabang Sefatsa
Thabang Sefatsa is a former midfielder for Roses United. He was diagnosed with the virus sometime in 2013. He disclosed his HIV status while speaking at an event organized for AIDS awareness in Pretoria in 2016

Thabang went further to reveal that most of his colleagues also have the virus but are afraid to disclose this, and the management also would not want them to do so.

He noted with disappointment that people still bullied him through texts even after his retirement following his public declaration.

Musa ‘Queen’ Njoko
Queen Njoko is a motivational speaker, successful businesswoman, and a famous gospel artist. She has been fighting against AIDS for the last 22 years. Besides this, she is spreading awareness about it in the society. She was just 22 year old back when she was found HIV positive.

Justice Edwin Cameron
Although he contracted the virus in the 1980’s, Justice Edwin disclosed his status to the world in 1999.
His motivation was from the brutal murder of the AIDS activist Gugu Dlamini, following her disclosure on live radio that she was living with the virus.

Cameron has been active in fighting for gay rights and the rights of those infected with the deadly virus. Justice Cameron has contributed positively to the fight against stigmatization of those living with the disease.

Phindile Sithole-Spong

Phindile’s case was rather different. She was born with the virus but had no idea till she was 19 years old when she once fell ill and had a series of tests including the HIV test carried out on her.

Unfortunately, her parents died before the availability of HIV treatment, and she contracted the disease at the time as there were no definite ways to prevent mother to child infections.

Phindile struggled to come to terms with the disease while at the university and even experienced a relationship breakup after disclosing her condition to her boyfriend whom she had dated for around two months. The breakup left her devastated and asking herself when precisely is the best time to disclose one’s HIV status when dating someone, while the doctors told her that there is no said time and that the decision is solely up to the person.

Today, she owns a consulting company on HIV, and she is a member of AIDS consortium. She also participates in leadership forums for young Africans.

According to Frank, there is every indication that history will repeat itself in 2019 presidential election.

He stated this in Abuja on Wednesday, where he also congratulated former President Jonathan on his 61st birthday and the launch of his historic book, Frank said the former President has written his name in gold for allowing democracy to survive even when he had power to truncate it.

Education / ASUU Strike Update: There Is No Money To Meet ASUU Demands - FG by udilaw: 3:20pm On Nov 21, 2018
The current strike embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) seems not to be close to being called off. This is ecause the federal government had on Monday, November 5, 2018, said it did not have the financial power currently to meet the demands of the Union.

The Education Minister Adamu Adamu, stated this while addressing journalist in Abuja. He said the crash in the prices of oil globally has affected the economic fortunes of Nigeria.

This, he explained, had dire consequences on all sectors of the economy, including education.

ASUU Strike Update. Earlier,we reported on ASUU Commences Indefinite Strike

The government also accused the administration of late president, Umaru Yar’Adua, of making bogus promises to the union during a period of oil boom.

“Let me begin by saying that the issues necessitating this strike dates back to 2009 when the then government of late President Umaru Musa Yar Adua signed an agreement with the ASUU on funding of the federal universities in the country,” he said.

According to the education minister, the agreement provided for funding of universities to the tune of N1.3 trillion over a period of six years. It is instructive to know that Nigeria was experiencing the oil boom at that time. It was therefore expected that government will be able to meet the terms of agreement.

“However, international oil prices crashed in subsequent years thereby throwing the country into economic hardship. At the inception of this administration, the country’s economic fortunes worsened, nose diving into recession, with dire consequences on all sectors of the economy, including education,” he said.

Mr Adamu said the country just exited recession and is beginning to recover from the consequences of low oil prices.

“If this trend continues, definitely, the education sector will also improve, in other words, the well-being of the education sector and any other sector of the country’s economy is a function of the international oil prices. This is the stack reality for now which all of us must acknowledge and accept.”

The minister appealed to both parents, ASUU and students to exercise restraint in their response to the education sector.

He said the union should be mindful of the fact that other sector of the economy were competing with similar financial needs.

“We must also be mindful that there are other sectors with similar competing needs, if our universities produce graduates, such graduates must work in other sectors of the economy which must also be supported by government,” he said.

ASUU, on Monday, embarked on an indefinite strike after its National Executive Council, NEC, meeting held in Akure, Ondo State, on Sunday.

ASUU’s current strike is hinged on delays in implementing the Memorandum of Understanding, MOU, the government agreed to in 2017, including to compel government to conclude the renegotiation of other agreements also collectively reached in 2009.
