Hello Good people, Please, don't skip if you have some perspectives to share. My wife and I are in a fix sort of. I have a full funded PhD scholarship to the tune of 124k dollars from the University of Chicago. My wife is joining me as F2. After Cost of Attendance including that for my dependent, I still have a surplus of 20k dollars from my Fellowship. Our concern us how best to face the interview thing. Is it better she tells VO that she'll be with me in the course of my program? (7 years) or is it better to say she'll visit and come and come back to Nigeria. My wife thinks it's better she tells the VO the truth that she can't stay away from her husband for 7 years. She needs us together and we have more than enough funding to provide for us. We are going together for the interview and we want to do our best to get the visas. Please! If there are any F2 Groups, We'll like to be added: 07034486079 |

Hi Nuelusa, thank you for the feedback. I'm new to Nairaland Forum because I came to look for answers to my numerous questions. Please, how can find the post? If you can, could you copy it as a response to me? NUELUSA2023: |
Hello, I need all the help I can get, please. I got a fully funded doctoral scholarship from the University of Chicago. I was awarded their most prestigious fellowship for my academic excellence with an extra 8k USD on top. I intend to travel with my wife. So, we want to start the visa process but I have zero knowledge of what to do like: 1. Can we fill the DS 160 form now and schedule for June without paying the visa fee? Like to pay it later..The school promised to pay it but can only do so in April when they start their Visa process. 2. How do we establish strong home ties? I think that's the only part we need to get right as we already have funding that covers for her deficit. If there are other things we need to put together so as to present a strong application, please feel free to share. I need information, please. |
