Committed members have the right to object and resign if it goes against their values. Don't try to make them look like programmed robots.

The committee should scrutinise each name submitted and object to the ones not okay with them. They can resign if they feel their opinions matter not.

The committee can't force anything on the president but the president can mandate the committee to do his will. That's all I will say on this.

Do you know the process that was involved? Were you present during any of the committee meetings to determine if any of them objected? Or you expect them to come to the public and raise the objection? Do you know if the President even gave some names that he wants to Pardon which doesn't even need the opinion of the committee? Or if he removed some names he wasn't comfortable with. This was his decision. The committee only helped him implement it.

You cannot enforce your “Common sense” and emotions on legal grounds. It does not work that way anywhere in the world.

And the citizens has the right and duty to cry out when the 'wisdom' is not seen to be in the interest of the security of the citizens. In any other part of a sane world, he won't be seen pardoning a kidnapper in the midst of kidnapping crises in the country.

Then he should have released all prisoners in the country because it's in the constitution. The law was made for humans and not humans made for the law. The law that has empowered the President to grant pardon also expected him to apply such power with his wisdom and in the interest of the safety and security of the country. One of the most terrifying crimes in this country is kidnapping and yet a known kidnapper was pardoned. I pray you or your family don't fall into the hands of kidnappers or who would end up being pardoned.

Chaiiiiiii and he was celebrated in his state. I don't understand. This shows that anyone can be released. Just imagine how scared and traumatised the witnesses that testified against him would be right now. The security men who tried fighting him and died in the process died for nothing. This is why such criminals and terrorists should be shot dead and not arrested. Even the arrested criminals that killed the arise lawyer would be released and pardoned by another administration. Whatever you do, don't allow anybody to kill you cos the state might pardon them and if they repent, God will forgive them.
