oduasolja:

look at his dummy . how can igbos have more landed property , have u seen nigerias map before

niger state alone is more than twice the size of the whole entire igbo land. so how can your dumbass have more land ?

unless u want to say the igbos own all theland in the rest of nigeria.

dummy, jus cus u own a few houses dont mean u have more land. slowpoke. of the highest order.

Without soundin abusive, oduasoja,I think u re the slowpoke, common sense(not common anyway)should hav told u that d gentleman was talkin about landed property in terms of monetary value and not the mere existence of dry desert land with mud houses scantily scatterd all over it.Even in the Niger state you cite as example, you wil be shockd at the numba of igbo landlords existin there.!

skyope:

I totally disagree.

1. Employ quality lecturers and pay them with same tithes and offerings u built the school with. After all the poor folks are still cheerfully giving in churches.

2. Admit the best students only, in fact make a large % of students run on scholarship. Currently they just admit anybody that can pay the tuition and give them a funny course, after a silly entry exam.

Thats how to get high standard of learning

For the infrastructures, buildings and equipment

1. Sell the jets, fly first class, i heard jets cost a lot.

2. People are still paying tithes and offering, so spend it on the school as u did b4

3. Register the school in NSE or better, the church itself. After all it has become a financial institution. Sell IPOs

My point is, if u believe there is nothing ungodly about a church school being affordable to only the rich, then at least, make it a world class centre for learning.

I can,t believe you are scratchin and tearing ur skin over another person,s privately owned property and wealth.what exactly is your point or your pain, the tithing or the tuition, whatever it is,I say u should jst mind your business, and get busy with somthn productive and stop botherin urself over wat u know nuffin abt.
As for the tithing,if u think it is easy(if not Divine )to convince folks to part with their hard earned money, go start ur church and lets see.
As much as I dont want to be insultive,u need to get it in 2 ur (stale, unobjective reasoning ) brain that you re not and can never ever be smarter than the millions of members who undastand the principle of tithing .
Travel / Re: It Is Easier To Live In Nigeria Without A Job Than In The Uk. Share Your Views by ugosly(m): 2:20pm On Oct 31, 2011
Me thinks living in Naija without a job is easier and better.
Reason, Nigerians are very sentimental and religious in their giving attitude or why do u think d multimillion naira begging(bambi allah) industry is still thriving today.
And of course as a (temporarily)unemployd person u can always corner ur Mum, Dad,some Uncles,Aunties and other well to do relativs 4 stipends (which in some families they ar under obligation to drop) cos they believe dat when u eventually make am u will reciprocate the gesture to them or their kids(funny but true),in some case, even your old landlord or landlady(with d arrears u r owing them in rent)can still come 2 ur rescue when u are hungry, but in the Uk,u lose ur job u r done for,who u wan even complain to,ur Mama wey dey naija expectin pounds or na ur friends wey d same dilema with u?abi na when d cold and hunga join hands show u pepper,
I culd go on and on,abeg there,s no basis for comparison in this aspect at all!
Naija is home sweet home o jare!

Meldrick:

Nobody is forcing you to attend the University, neither is any one forcing you to pay tithe or offering. Rather than complaining, ranting and barking why not attend the public schools and keep your offering (that is if you have ever paid an offering).
my broda no mind bad belle dem, even though this matter is not about Tithes. I wish 2 let the disgruntled few know dat Paying tithe is not by force,it is a willful act of worship to God,having said that,I simply laugh when angry and inopportuned folks rant about private univs.some even try to justify their 3rd class and pass grades in comparison to the 1st and 2nd class of private univs.
My advice is just the same as som 1 has advised earlier, get a life make enuf doe and c dat ur own kids get 2 enjoy wat u didnt.

Politics / Re: Dangote,Genevieve & Others Make 2011 National Honours List by ugosly(m): 11:42am On Oct 29, 2011
Some of the names on the list are not bad though.
while some are not deservin of the honour class or category they are to recieve, some others are not supposd 2 smell it from 20 miles away.e.g Dangote even though he has contributed immensely(though in a wuru wuru, monopolistic FG aided advantage way) to the economy of Nigeria,I think the GCON thingy is way too grand for a favourd industrialist(capitalist)who does not pay tax and import duties as stipulated by the law.
,in short I culd go on and on,almost evry name on that list and there category get K leg and we all know it.
Sombody's just got to recieve those honours u know, thus the 'cut and join' list.
Lets just sit back relax and enjoy their theatrics.

Culture / Giving And Recieving With The Left Hand. by ugosly(m): 12:55am On Oct 29, 2011
I keep wondering why som people react in disdain and irritation when u try 2 give or recieve items from them with ur left hand.
Jst the other day I witnessed a scene typical of what I,m talkin about,a man was gonna pay 4 service renderd and d recipient 4 obvious reason(was busy with his right hand) tried 2 reciev the money wit the left hand, no b small quarrel follow aftawards.
Now my question is what is bad or evil about giving and recieving with the left hand, where did the belief emanate from and if truly it is bad what is the consequence of such 'badness'
I wuld realy appreciate a detailed xplanation cos me thinks the belief is jst an outdated ancestral myth.

OAM4J:

Senate probes NITEL, NIPOST

The Senate has commenced investigations to unravel what may have contributed to the collapse of government -owned telecommunications NITEL industry in the country.
Against the backdrop of NITEL’s ordeal which started with the privatisation of the company by the Bureau for Public Enterprises, BPE to PENTASCOPE, the Senate President David Mark at plenary in Abuja yesterday, ordered a probe into the collapse of the organisation, with a vow that those culpable must be prosecuted.

Giving the directive at the inauguration ceremony of the newly constituted Senate Committee on Communication yesterday, Mark, who frowned at the magnitude of the fraud that had led to the collapse of NITEL and its subsidiary agency, E-MTEL, despite attempts by government to make the public telecom industry viable through privatisation, directed the committee to unravel the mystery behind the collapse of the industry.

“Make sure that you investigate and bring to book all those who contributed in burying NITEL, NIPOST and E-MTEL .We cannot fold our hands and allow these huge investments to rot away when those who rendered these companies dead walk around our streets freely unmolested,” he maintained.

The federal government, Mark said, should put all necessary structures to reactivate NITEL, NIPOST and E-MTEL to break the monopoly enjoyed by private telecommunication providers, which he also charged to render modest services to their increasing subscribers.

The Senate president further directed the committee to step into the industry and roll out legislations that would ensure that the service providers did not take undue advantage of the masses by arbitrarily increasing the cost of their services.

He wondered why telecommunication service providers should insist that users of their services must thumb-print in the process of registering their subscriber identification module, SIM cards, stressing that the idea was not proper.

Mark, who also inaugurated Senate Committees on Capital Market , Co-operation and Integration in Africa and NEPAD, Commerce, Trade and Industry, Culture and Tourism and Defence, urged the newly constituted committees to brace up and inject a new life into the ministries and parastatals under their supervision, to meet the Transformation Agenda of the Federal government.
