Fake SARS in PH Earlier today I was blocked by a toyota camry along Eliozu bypass, the occupants of the vehicle in SARS uniform asked me for my particulars and drivers license which I gave to them. They said I didn't park properly so I should come dow which I obeyed as I opened the car to get back in one of entered the passenger side, he brought out a pistol and ordered me to go to the back seat and if I make any move they will shoot me and label me a cultist. One of them drove my car, they took me to a forest at igbo etche road parked the car and blind folded me to another area of the bush. They later removed the blind fold and asked me where I work, I replied that I am a freelancer so I work whenever I am hired. They asked me my account balance and my last withdrawal which I told them. I logged on to 1st bank online and showed the 51k in the account. They asked why I don't have money in the account? I told them that I haven't worked recently. They searched my bag and no ID was found except my DPR passport which I explained that sometimes I may be required to work in a swamp as I'm involved in lifting and handling operation After about 2hours I was blindfolded back to the road and advised to go left to where my car is and never look back. I am alive, nothing was taken from me but I'm scared. They probably would have killed me thinking I have money. |

The story is incomplete. I am concerned about the safety of the kidnapped victim. Nothing was said about the victim. My fear is that the rest of the kidnappers could just waste the victim on hearing that police have foiled their ransom collection. |
I thought the OP should have been more worried about the present crop of Ikwerre youths who specialize in selling landed property and subsist on 'matching ground' and stealing from genuine property developers who are often Igbos and other tribes. Not sure Ikwerres will ever like Igbos while I doubt if Igbos will ever respect Ikwerres. In the end, does it really matter since Ikwerres are shamelessly still holding on to the 'Abandoned Property' of Igbos till today?. |
What a shame? |
Only in Nigeria.... |
I heard on radio yesterday that there is at least one kidnap incident everyday in Port Harcourt. I left office in Trans-Amadi around 6pm this evening and approached Artillery through Old Aba Road. On making it into the main Aba Road and driving for about 50m, I looked through my side mirror and saw someone on police uniform on top of a motorcycle , pointing at me. I ignored him and continued. I kept watching through my side mirror and noticed that I was still being followed by the Ocada man and and the 'policeman',.I decided to make a U-turn at Shell RA and head back to Artillery. Unfortunately, there was traffic at Rumuibekwe junction and they closed in. The 'policeman' came down from the Ocada and ordered me to wind down my side window. I gestured to him that I don't know him. Then I wound down about 5% and asked him what was the problem, he said I should open the door. I assessed him and he looked like a fake policeman. While this was happening, the traffic cleared and when he saw that I was not ready to bulge, he quickly jumped on to the Ocada and they quickly turned and headed back towards artillery junction and I went my way towards Obigbo. After reflecting on the incident, I had the conviction that this could be another kidnap strategy in PH. The policeman could have entered my car and ordered me, at gun point, to head as he directs. A lot is happening these days in PHC, dear Nairalanders in PHC, please be careful and be on the alert. |
