My friend is an agent. For some two years now he has only been getting money from people looking to rent houses.

Nothing serious. Just some 10k here, 25k there etc. (you know this agent business, sometimes up to 5 agents share the spoils on a single house)

Now fast forward to two weeks ago, he was part of a land deal and got over 800k as his portion.

He was able to save 400k from the beginning of the year till now.

So he wants to add his 400k to the 800k and buy second hand keke of 1.2m

He is doing this because he heard that keke riders make up to 300 to 400k a month.

I don't know for any other location, but I know that in uyo the type of lives keke riders live doesn't depict 300k monthly earnings. (I might be wrong)

I am not looking down on any body so please spare me all the dignity of labour activism.

I honestly want to know, can keke riders make such amount of money monthly?

These guys clearly went there for a community war, not a cultural display. I’m glad they were caught. The real shame is that they’re ruining the reputation for those who actually want to celebrate their heritage genuinely.

You can see how Russia have been taking Ukraine land and those Ukrainian regions are even preferring to join Russia because Russia is the winning side currently, that's what happened to Southeast.


Igbos lost the war in 1970, so Igbo communities were scattered and most of them at the boundary like the communities you mentioned preferred to be in SouthSouth or Middlebelt to avoid persecution by Nigerian government being controlled by Hausa-Fulanis and Yorubas after the war. Senator Ned Nwoko revealed this too that it was same reason his Igbo community in Delta preferred to be associated with Niger Delta than Southeast, that it saved them from political and career persecution by Nigerian government.


Time will settle these things, Igbos are great people and we will rise above our past mistakes and challenges, just a matter of time

Everyone who had something to do with the university all rejected it. Igbo, Hausa, Yoruba, Efik, everyone who was a student or an alumnus rejected it.

GEJ made a stupid move, especially without consulting the university itself. You can't make stupid unilateral decisions about a university without at least consulting with both the governing body and the student union.

There was no UNILAG student or alumnus that was interviewed then that wanted their beloved UNILAG changed to MAULAG of whatever the ugly name was.
