Politics / As Sen Samdaddy Anyanwu Swindles Imo PDP Delegates by UkwaAban: 6:41pm On Apr 12, 2023
RETURN OF 419 IN IMO

... As Sen Samdaddy Anyanwu Swindles Imo PDP Delegates.

By: Prudent Reporters
12th April 2023

In the build up to the Primary election of the People's Democratic Party in Imo State, which had Hon Emeka Ihedioha and Senator Samdaddy Anyanwu as the only aspirants, before the withdrawal of Emeka Ihedioha; Senator Samdaddy Anyanwu who doubles as the National Secretary of the Party, was recorded to have boasted severally that he will pay 3 Million Naira per delegate during the Governorship Primaries.

Senator Samuel Anyanwu had earlier assured his Divine Mandate Movement Supporters that he has accumulated the financial warchest through his position as National Secretary of PDP, and that he has a financial backing from River State Governor Nyesom Wike, therefore he has whatever it takes to pay a minimum of 3 million naira to every delegate from the 27 local government areas.

When Chief Emeka Ihedioha wrote a letter to the National Chairman of PDP stating his withdraw from the race, Sen. Samdaddy enjoyed a clear coast that enabled him and his supporters to handpick delegates from the 27 Local Governments and 305 Wards.

In a rather shocking development, the 942 Delegates handpicked by Samdaddy's Divine Mandate Movement (DMM), who came to the venue of the primary election with high expectations, were left utterly disappointed as Samdaddy could only afford to pay them a paltry 20,000.

This ugly development prompted agitations from the angry delegates, some of whom spoke to our reporters on the Condition of anonymity, stating that they have spent over 60,000 naira of their personal funds to cater for their transportation, hotel accommodation and feeding as many of them came from far places on Tuesday 11th and cannot return to their base on Wednesday 12th April after the exercise.

The common question which echoed from their mouth was, "IS THIS THE RETURN OF 419 IN IMO"?

Politics / Chima Anyaso, One Of Pdp's Dregs, Deserves Pity by UkwaAban: 10:56pm On Dec 20, 2022
Chima Anyaso, One of PDP's Dregs, Deserves Pity

By Michael Nwabueze

The Deputy Governorship candidate of YPP, one of the embryonic parties in Abia State with scant political record, Chima Anyaso has exposed himself as a man who opens his mouth before engaging his brain even though his brain's proper functionality is in doubt. Or, how else can one describe a man who is the Deputy Governorship candidate of a party whose candidates are all people of opaque character with zero political value?

Anyaso himself was a PDP candidate for the House of Representatives in 2019 but he lost in all the wards in his local government including in his own polling unit. Such was his zero political value to the PDP that the party was deemed to have wasted its ticket by presenting him as their candidate then.

Having seen his emptiness, the PDP, as would any serious political party, decided to look else where in the election of its candidates for various political offices and that meant that only those who are relevant to the system and are at home with the people would emerge its candidates. Seeing that he did not belong to either categories, Chima Anyaso became so desperate to clinch the PDP gubernatorial ticket that he started dancing naked in the public square and was consulting all manner of spirits alien to decency and morality, the same action he is alleged to be using to sustain his self-accalimed status as a billionaire of questionable wealth. But the PDP would have none of that and when Anyaso saw that his spells from the pit of hell were not influencing the PDP as he thought, he offered humongous amounts to various stakeholders and the party as an institution but to his bewilderment, he was turned down at every turn as the party told him point-blank that its tickets were not for sale but that the process would throw up the right candidates. He was therefore advised to go and learn the ropes and build his political career by warming himself to the people who are the ones who matter most in politics and governance.

Rather than take to the advice, and true to his nature of desperation, greed and lust for power, Chima Anyaso quickly abandoned the party that gave him one of its most prized tickets as recently as 2019 and under which he aspired to be governor just about 7 months ago.

Today, true to his emptiness, he focuses his campaign on attempting to malign the PDP and vainly paint it in bad light instead of selling his Party's agenda. Unfortunately for him, the people know him very well and are not moved by his age-long antics of mendacious, mischievous and malicious campaigns that led to his abysmal outing in 2019.

It is unfortunate and quite idiotic that Chima Anyaso was quoted to have said that Governor Okezie Ikpeazu is a nobody!

For the avoidance of doubt, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu was already a PhD holder in Clinical Biochemistry at age 29 and cannot by any means be referred to as a nobody except by people like Chima Anyaso who were reportedly busy running naked from one river to the other consulting spirits and dwelling in coffins in their inordinate quest for money and still doing same till date just to sustain their lifestyle as self-styled billionaires. Anyaso should not allow us expose his deep involvement in spiritism and mysticism, dark arts he is involved in, and for which PDP refused to give him their ticket after finding out his dark side.

Dr Okezie Ikpeazu EARNED his PhD and is not even in the same class as those who parade themselves as Dr's without a PhD.

At 29 when Dr Okezie Ikpeazu was meritoriously awarded his PhD, Chima Anyaso was being spoon-fed by his sister’s husband and was still in desperate search for a rich man’s daughter to marry by casting a spell on such an unfortunate victim.

He should know that we are aware of these things and have only kept quiet all this while because the PDP as a party resolved not to be involved in personal matters as a strategy for campaigning. But we will not watch a nonentity intoxicated by filthy lucre to insult the governor or any of our candidates without adequate response.

Enough is enough!

This is the same governor who until few months ago, Chima Anyaso was following about like a bad shadow. He called him a nobody even when the same man was a Head of Department of a university at a time Chima was still struggling with basic education. The Governor was later a Special Adviser to a Governor in 2002, first GM of ASPIMSS and Deputy General Manager of ASEPA. In all this, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu discharged his responsibilities with dignity unlike Anyaso whose alleged exploits as a 419 kingpin is legendary.

ChimaAnyaso imagines that leadership is synonymous with frivolities including wild partying and has succeeded in turning YPP into a young people's party for clubbing, a fact which has many times annoyed his a bit more sane principal, Engr Enyinnaya Nwafor (Nana). Even then Chima has never stopped telling whoever cares to listen how Nana’s wealth is a fluke and how the campaign is being wholly sponsored by him, Chima Anyaso. Yet he had the temerity to lie that same Nana sponsored IKPEAZU’S election in 2015 simply because the benevolent Governor chose Nana as one of the young road contractors he empowered.

It is only a matter of time before the infantile Chima who slept through 2019 federal house of representatives election will also call Nana a nobody and betray him. After all, he is an accomplice to a misguided libation and an accessory to the prayers therefrom that no Ngwa man will ever become Governor of Abia State again. It is either he is out to destroy Nana who is an Ngwa man, at least on paper, or he is on another mission sponsored by his left handed libation sponsors.

Both he and his principal, Enyinnaya Nwafor are no match for the PDP. They are rather the dregs of our great party and will remain so for life, hence, their donation to other mushroom parties where they rightly belong by the PDP.

We wish to assure them that no matter how many spirits of darkness they consult, Abians will not succumb to their desperation and cynicism.

What they both deserve are pity and prayers that they should know their actual place in Abia politics, stop overrating themselves and be delivered from the powers of darkness!

Politics / Re: Disgruntled Rantings Of A Defrocked Banker by UkwaAban: 4:22pm On Oct 16, 2022
His Excellency, Dr Ikpeazu’s administration introduced the use of Rigid Pavement (Cement) Technology in road construction to guarantee a minimum of 30 years life span for concerned roads. Most of the roads under review were beneficiaries of this technology, with double drains to boot. It is on record that Ikpeazu’s administration commenced the construction and completion of the first ever Abia interchange (flyover) since the creation of the state, at Osisioma Aba. This facility has since been commissioned.

The hot air regarding ‘collapsing health infrastructure’ is another parody of “constructive criticism”. A simple fact check reveals that upon assumption of office, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, released funds for the total rehabilitation, reconstruction and upgrading of all the Schools of Nursing in Abia State. Consequently, the School of Midwifery Abiriba and the Schools of Nursing at Aba, Umuahia and Amachara were upgraded leading to their re-accreditation by the Midwifery and Nursing Council of Nigeria. Admission into these institutions have since resumed. Okezie’s administration went into partnership with the MTN Foundation to fund the reduction of maternal and infant mortality and morbidity in the state. Under this arrangement, the maternal wards of 4 General Hospitals were equipped and upgraded. They are Abia State Specialist and Diagnostic Centre, Umuahia, Abia State University Teaching Hospital, Aba, General Hospital Okpuala Ngwa and Cottage Hospital, Owaza. The infrastructural upgrade at the Abia State University. The icing on the cake is the Abia State Tele Health Support Centre commissioned by Vice President. Prof Yemi Osinbanjo. The state-of-art, geriatric medical outreaches established by His Excellency, Dr Ikpeazu is a free, service run in situ that caters for elderly and senior citizens who are treated, in their homes. The Abia state Emergency health service is linked to a dedicated call centre and ambulances.

Talking of industries, the mealy mouthed, defrocked banker raised posers on the quantum of foreign direct investments attracted by the present administration. We got good news for him. Turkey and China are here on ground with groundbreaking multinationals.-a product of Dr Okezie’s tireless investment drives. And as we speak Enyimba Economic City , a global business hub in the southeast region of Nigeria which is a brainchild of the Governor Okezie Ikpeazu administration has landed.

It is an audacious and ambitious project conceived with the intention of connecting South-East states and four out of the six states in the south south of Nigeria. The beauty of it all is it has been designated as a Special Economic Zone by the Federal Government and will have Free Trade Zone status. Abia state under Ikpeazu is the new economic frontier of Nigeria.

The motive force is to leverage Abia into the global matrix of trade, finance and production ipso facto south east. In brass tacks the mission is to create a nerve centre to the nine southeast and south south, states linked with high grade access roads, rails, airport and seaports that will transform the region into a manufacturing and industrial powerhouse, with ancillary drivers of commerce, logistics, entertainment, education, health and lifestyle living.

The beauty of it is it will be developed through a public-private-partnership (PPP) company of private sector investors, Abia State Government, and Federal Government of Nigeria but will be solely managed by the private sector. Enyimba Economic City will be developed over an area of approximately 9,803ha, spanning three local government areas of Ukwa West, Ukwa East and Ugwunagbo in Abia State. Because of the foresight of Governor Ikpeazu in attracting attention to Aba, the city is receiving special attention for the provision of uninterrupted power.

The Federal Ministry of Power, Works and Housing, through the Rural Electrification Agency, has commissioned the construction of a 5 Megawatt Power Plant to provide over 37, 000 shops at the Ariaria International Market with uninterrupted power supply. This was after a pilot test-run with 1,000 shops over an uninterrupted period of 6 months. Ariaria Market traders, shoemakers, fabricators and inventors now have uninterrupted power supply. One can only imagine the opportunities that will be unlocked for creativity and inventions. The imminence of uninterrupted has leveraged Geometric Power, the pace setting private licensee of a Power Project in Nigeria .It signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ruyi Group of China for equity investment in Geometric Power which will enable it reinforce its energy grid trajectory. The Ruyi Group is the World's largest producer of garments and allied products and they are set to invest at the Enyimba Economic City.

The Ruyi Group already has Power Plants in China, Pakistan and Ethiopia and are looking to become the dominant players in the world in the energy sector. This investment in Geometrics will lead to the activation of not just the already completed power plant at Osisioma, but also ensure speedy work at new plants at Ugwunagbo and Ukwa West.

Dr Okezie Ikpeazu is diversifying the economy through agriculture and diversifying vide technology. Sampler: mushroom production and training programs are already yielding great results: a venture which young Abians have keyed to. Ditto for rice farmers, who have boosted production with the target of producing enough to feed all Abians. His administration has established a massive palm plantation with over 4,000,000 tenera specie seedlings grown and sold across the state. The target is 7.5m seedlings at the end of 2019. It is expected that in no distant time, Abia State will no longer depend on FAAC as cash crops and other programs are expected to diversify the economy of the state.

Grants and soft loans are available to farmers who have the facilities of mechanized farming equipment across the state through leasing at affordable rates; less than 50% of the previous lease cost. Commercial production of cocoa and cashew have been boosted through deliberate investment by the government. The objective is to ultimately establish processing plants for the primary products to further enhance benefits within the value chain for the cash crops. The administration is directly providing fertilizers to farmers at subsidized rates alongside other free extension services.

The administration embarked on enhanced poultry and fish production with phase 1 of 100 poultry pens of 2000 birds executed. By the same token it constructed a 165,000 birds capacity poultry processing plant at Umuosu Nsulu in Abia central senatorial zone. Additional two units for Abia North and South are currently under construction. Following the provision of counterpart funding for FADAMA III projects, 300 young Abia farmers benefitted from N2.5m per person grant as part of the Farmpreneur project of the world bank (FADAMA).Also in partnership with the world bank, Abia commenced reactivation of the long moribund Igu Dam to ensure all year round rice production in the state.Abia State is currently in partnership with Bank of Agriculture and the federal government in the enhanced eggs production project.

As part of the administration’s capacity building agenda, the state launched the Education for Employment (E4E) scheme that has already produced 472 graduates with relevant skills in ICT, at Phase 1. Phase 2 of the program which is aimed at training 36,000 unemployed Abians in different skills has commenced at the Multi Skill acquisition facility at Umuobiakwa in Obingwa LGA.

For the first time in Abia state, a database of unemployed Abians has been compiled and the government is taking verifiable actions to provide them with jobs, using the recently launched Abia state job portal. In partnership with Dangote group, a modern job center is under construction at Isiala Ngwa.

To further enhance the capacity and productivity of Abia teachers, the administration is partnering with Australian education solution providers to retrain them and enhance teaching efficiency. More than 800 teachers have benefited from this program. A new teachers training facility has been opened at Umuahia to ensure continuous training of primary and secondary school teachers.

Under Ikpeazu’s watch, Abia State has maintained 1st position in WAEC and NECO examinations for consecutive 3 years as a result of increased monitoring and enhancement of private and public sector educational resources.

To motivate our teachers for better performance in our schools, Governor Ikpeazu donated cars to best performing teachers from the 3 zones and also built staff quarters at Umuahia. In consideration of the current socio-economic situation in the country, the government reduced tuition fees at ABSU, Abiapoly and College of Education Arochukwu to support Abia parents and guardians. Abia’s homegrown free school feeding program was launched in 2015 and currently ongoing across the state. Abia State, under Ikpeazu, is the only state in the federation providing food for primary one to six school pupils.

Also Ikpeazu’s administration partnered with the private sector to provide free Made in Aba school sandals to over 2000 school children in the state. More will benefit from this program which also supports Governor Ikpeazu’s Made in Aba promotion agenda.

In order to boost ICT education and stimulate interest in that area in our children from early age, Abia State launched Free ICT and Coding training for primary and secondary schools in the state using the e-library at Umuahia as hub.For the first time in Abia state, the ministry of education launched and deployed a unified education platform for all schools in the state. Results and activities of all Abia school children can be monitored from one platform for private and public schools.

In fulfillment of the Governor’s electoral promise, Abia State is constructing 4 model schools (Abayi Aba, Obingwa, Umuahia and Ohafia) with nursery, primary and secondary schools in one location alongside sports facilities and teachers quarters. This we are able to execute because we paid our UBE counterpart fund of N2.8b.359 new school classroom blocks are currently under construction in the state with more than 100 completed and ready for Commissioning. In addition, the state ministry of education renovated/constructed 67 classroom blocks across the 3 Senatorial zones of the state, sank 9 Boreholes and reticulated water supply to 43 school toilets.

To support regular monitoring of schools in rural and urban areas of the state Governor Ikpeazu launched a new statewide education inspectors scheme and provided 42 motorcycles to enhance efficiency. The administration has reconstituted the state scholarship board and awarded tertiary education scholarships to best performing WASCE students in all the LGAs for 2 years.

A new education hub is emerging around the Owerrinta area with the government providing necessary infrastructure support to ensure the development of the biggest education cluster in Africa.

The state is set to establish the first ever kidney transplant center in Umuahia, in collaboration with a Diaspora medical team that recently performed the first ever kidney transplant in the state.Abia implemented WHO/FMOH model of one primary health care (PHC) per political ward. Abia State now has 292 WHO recognized Primary Health Care centers (PHCs) across the state alongside Primary Healthcare under one roof (PHCUOR) which is in keeping with international best practice.Governor Ikpeazu’s deliberate actions and policies attracted the Basic Health Care Provision Fund (BHCPF) beneficiary pilot state status attracting N1.5bn (July 2017), from The World Bank following the successful hosting by Abia State in January 2017 of The 59th National Council on Health. These funds are to be applied at the 292 PHCs for qualitative services at that level of care.

Ikpeazu’s administration also provided the N100 million counterpart funding for BHCPF, the first in the history of Abia state, and attracted the $1.5million grant for the Saving One Million Lives program for results now being implemented in Abia since June 2017 At the risk of repetition,Abia State's Tele-Health Initiative (ASTHI) concluded the 6 months of pilot tests in 15 PHCs and was launched in March 2018. The service has been rolled out across the whole 292 PHCs in the state to help bring life saving care to all Abia communities. It is a first of its kind in Africa.

On Ikpeazu’s watch, the Canadian Government partnered with the state for the Integrated Community Case Management (ICCM) of the 3 childhood killer diseases of malaria, diarrhoea and pneumonia being anchored by Society for family Health(on behalf of WHO/Canadian Govt). This project is now in its transition phase to full management by the state Government. The organized private sector in Nigeria is lending support to Ikpeazu’s focused healthcare improvement effort with MTN Foundation funding 2 PHCs in their new program “what we can do together campaign” in Ikwuano and Arochukwu LGAs.They also helped to build 4 brand new and world class maternal and child wards at Okpuala Ngwa, Owaza, ABSUTH and Abia Specialist Hospital in Amachara Umuahia.

Nestle Plc is collaborating with Ikpeazu’s administration in the areas of infant nutrition and maternal care services. Already, an MOU with Nestle Nutrition Institute in Africa has been signed. The first phase of capacity building training/development for our medical personnel have been concluded. It is expected to continue with the aim of further improving our health indices.Ikpeazu’s administration commissioned a General Hospital in Obingwa, complete with accommodation facilities for medical personnel. Remaining 3 new general hospitals located at Arochukwu, Ikwuano & Okeikpe are at 95% completion.

The long abandoned Aba General Hospital has been reactivated by Governor Ikpeazu and already providing healthcare services to Abians.

Within this period, Governor Ikpeazi also re-furbished maternal and Children’s building at ABSUTH Aba as well as executed a PPP arrangement to procure cutting-edge medical equipment at the tertiary healthcare institution.

Furthermore, the state obtained Re-Accreditation of Undergraduate medical training for new doctors at ABSUTH and currently working on the re-accreditation of post-graduate training schools in obstetrics & gynaecology, surgery and pediatric medicine.

Abia state recorded improved Health Indicators, compared with other states and national averages, as can be verified from data available with World Health Organization (WHO).

To further improve healthcare services and curtail medical tourism, the administration is collaborating with The Hospital Group in the USA for the establishment of Obuaku Medical City and The East Coast Medical Group in the USA for a specialised organ transplant centre in the old Aba General Hospital while Capital Health Surgical Group is upgrading the Specialist Hospital Amachara to an Urgent Care Centre.

In general, referral medical facilities are at a level never witnessed in the past because of the focused interventions of the Governor.Abia State also launched the first of its kind free home care services for senior citizens with vehicles provided and personnel trained to reach senior citizens in all the Senatorial zones of the state to offer care and contribute to the government’s healthcare objective of improving life expectancy above the national average.A new Mother and Child Specialist Hospital is set to open at Umuahia.

Sports and Youth Development-a new paradigm in youth empowerment. In sports, Abia is the only state in Nigeria maintaining 3 top performing premier league status football teams: Enyimba FC, Abia Warriors and Abia Angels.Enyimba FC of Aba is currently playing in the continent and representing Nigeria very well.Enyimba international stadium at Aba is undergoing remodeling with Astro-turf and new stands almost completed. For the first time, toilet facilities are being constructed within the stadium for the comfort of Sports loving people of Abia State.Governor Ikpeazu is aggressively re-introducing school sports to develop new talents. We can go on and on to showcase Ikpeazu’s records for posterity, which is on display live and direct in Abia.

But as they say, he who comes to equity, must do so with very clean hands. It is relevant at this juncture to interrogate Dr Alex Otti: what developmental narrative is he endowed with? The Abia civil society are wont to ask, what was he doing in Lagos before he started his career in the bank? His trade mark signature in the money market, replete with false pretences will transmute to a fund recovery mission in Abia.

Why should a failed banker, who under his watch, wrecked the fortunes of Diamond Bank in the rank order of Nigeria’s money market architecture be trusted? He told lies about some bogus loans from IFC he secured for Abia. This turned to be a fib. Under his watch, at Diamond Bank, modern ceramics Umuahia, sought a life line of N250million which leap escalated to a cumulative debt of N1.6billion, which Abia State Government is seeking to unbundle now.

Alex Otti has always left a trail of sorrow and tears, along his path, unfortunately for him,Abians will ask about his pedigree and track records. The 2023 elections, will be about what you have achieved and not only castles politicians build in the air.

DISGRUNTLED RANTINGS OF A DEFROCKED BANKER

By Chinyemike Torti

Ever since Dr Alex Otti, the seasonal politician, serial election loser, inflicted himself on the Nigerian political space, in 2015, he has been a metaphor for the emergence of bohemian aspirants, who pretend to be imbued with the DNA of political praxis to beneficiate the polity. In all his career, trajectory and engagements both in private and official capacities, he is always been a manifest poster boy of trust deficit that keeps him fleeing from one party or the other. At the last count he had round-tripped all the political parties from PDP,APGA, APC and now LABOUR Party.

When Dr Otti is not spewing some hocus pocus of the people oriented dividends or dubious low hanging fruits, in his kitty, he resorts to the pernicious hobby of the inane castigation, of Abia state government and person of the governor. As a retired banker and economist, one had expected him to provoke a debate or dialogue on the policy direction and economic blueprint of the government of his vision.

In a recent, desperate effort at besmirching the PDP and Abia State Executive Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, the erstwhile money changer at Diamond Bank that carved a niche for himself in the heroic book of gubernatorial failures, did not make any pretense at enlightened commentary but oozed out a rancid and wishy washy hoopla, fuming with street language, intellectual thuggery, and conversational terrorism. He betrayed a pathetic narrative, when he likened Abia state to an economic holocaust. Dr Otti literally gloated on the recent‘ misfortunes of Aria Aria, Aba traders who were bludgeoned by the recent flooding-which was a nationwide phenomenon. Flooding has inundated Southern Nigeria in recent weeks. According to the NASA Earth Observatory the 2022 rainy season has been especially harsh and deadly and destructive. According to the EARTH OBSERVATORY dated 11th October 2022 “In September and October 2022, flooding in the country’s south submerged homes and farmland, and displaced hundreds of thousands of people.” In case of doubt kindly google EARTH OBSERVATORY.

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu is not a rain maker and cannot be directly or vicariously held responsible for the flooding. That notwithstanding he set up mitigation and response initiatives of succour to all those affected by the flooding.

Alex Otti’s grumblings is similar to that of an abandoned, marginally attractive spinster bereft of a spouse. The critical mass of the civil society, have always turned up their noses to his false narratives ,because of his penchant for inveterate false hood, ignorance, reckless, dumb and illogical appraisals.

The centerpiece of his conversations since his 2015 and 2019 misadventures is to dwell on theatrics, rooted in demagoguery, distortion of history and barefaced misrepresentation which has been his nemesis and will always be. In his recent outing, last week,he oozed out his trademark tissue of lies about ‘tacky’ Abia infrastructure, civil servants unpaid salaries, healthcare, Enyinmba City and a litany of salacious beer parlor gossip.

In trying to denigrate Abia, he made a heavy weather of Aba roads, as deficient, with an epithet of infrastructural decay He lied, that we have the worst road networks in the federation. We state without any fear of contradiction that for the first time in the history of Abia state, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu set in motion and pioneered THE CATERPILLAR revolution- an audacious, vigorous engagement to endow Ndi Abia with top of the range, well paved roads.

What Dr Okezie promised at the electioneering campaign platform, has matched the lived life in the communities. For instance he was sworn-in on May 29, 2015 which was a Friday. By the next working day, Monday, June 1, 2015, he flagged off seven roads within the Aba metropolis. By the next day, Tuesday, June 2, 2015, he reverted to Umuahia where 3 roads, were flagged off. Time and editorial space limitations will not permit a complete disclosure of the roads inventory. Suffice to say that more than 300 road projects are either completed or ongoing. The list of of completed road projects are not limited to: Kaduna Street, Umuahia,Kamalu Road,Umuwaya Road, Umuahia,Road II, Federal Lowcost Housing Estate, Umuahia ,Niger Road, Umuahia Ukaegbu Road, Aba Umuola Road, Aba, Umuocham Road,Aba, Umule Road, Ommene Drive, Aba Jubilee Road, Aba Ehi Road, Aba, Hospital Road, Aba,Ube Street, Aba.Adazi Street, Aba Okon-Aku Main Bridge, Ohafia LGA,George’s Street, Aba South . Flooding: Wike Queries FG, Uzodinma Over $12.5m Calabar Port Contract Fraud

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has criticized the APC led Federal government for what he described as playing politics with the dredging of River Niger and River Benue.

Reacting to questions from newsmen during his Media Chat in Port Harcourt, Governor Wike stated that the reason behind the flooding which is ravaging parts of his state is simply because the federal government has repeatedly played politics with the dredging of these two important rivers which has resulted in an increase on the water level.

It will be recalled that the federal government through the Nigerian Ports Authority, awarded the contract for the dredging of Calabar Seaport to the Governor of Imo State Hope Uzodinma, who was then a serving Senator representing Imo West Senatorial District, through his company “Niger Global Engineering and Technical Company Limited”, paid a total sum of $12.5 million (about N26 billion), a project he failed to execute till date.

You will also recall that The Special Presidential Investigation Panel For Recovery of Public Property led by Chief Okoi Obono-Obla, in 2018 arrested Sen Hope Uzodinma, the then Imo APC Governorship Candidate, for the failure of his company to execute a contract of $12 million for the dredging of Calabar channel, after about one year of evading arrest. He was later released on bail on health conditions.

Governor Nyesom Wike in his media chat on Friday 14th October 2022, queried the contract awarded a few years ago for the dredging the Calabar Seaport and the status of the project.

“I heard some time ago that the federal government awarded the dredging of Calabar Seaport, what happened? Where is the money?... -we need people that can say No! this cannot happen”

“Today you will hear they have awarded the dredging of Calabar seaport... -all kinds of politics, to who’s interest is it for the River Niger and River Benue not to be dredged, causing untold hardship to our people” ....Wike Stated.

Mascot Uzor Kalu writes INEC, demands transfer of voter's card to Igbere

The picture of contenders for the governorship ticket of APC in Abia State is becoming clearer ahead of 2023 general election with the recent letter written to INEC by Mascot Uzor over transfer of his voter's card.

With his abysmal performance at the just concluded Aba federal Constituency polls, it was authoritatively gathered that Orji uzor kalu who is still in shock over his brothers defeat, has concluded plans to hand over 2023 APC governorship ticket to Mascot Uzor.

To this end, there's the need to ensure that Mascot
votes in Igbere instead of Aba in 2023.

According to investigations, INEC has received Mascots application for the transfer of his voter's card from Aba to Igbere, his home town in Abia North.

A reliable source within APC revealed that Orji Uzor kalu will not be comfortable with Alex Otti, Gen Ihejirika or Uche Oga on the APC gubernatorial ticket, as he maintained that he doesn't trust any to them to remain loyal if either of them emerges the governor of Abia state in 2023.

OUK had consulted widely for Mascot ahead of 2023 and only used the Aba North and South ticket to assert his authority as the leader and decision maker of APC in the State.

EXPOSED...ORIAKU IN SECRET TALKS WITH GOV. IKPEAZU.

Following the abysmal failure recorded by APC in Saturday's Aba Federal Constituency by-election, the embattled former commissioner for Finance Mr. Obinna Oriaku, was on Tuesday March 30th, 2021, sported at the Abia Governor's Lodge, TY Danjuma Street, Asokoro in Abuja late night

Our source who pleaded anonymity for fear of being sacked by the government, narrated that Obinna who wore a white Senator material had arrived the lodge at wee hours and was received by a close aide of the Governor who took him to his principal.

The Governor had arrived at Abuja from Asaba where he went on a one day working visit.

The closed door meeting which lasted about an hour had only the Governor in attendance. Although details of the meeting was not disclosed, it is believed that it is not unconnected with Mr. Oriaku's move to return to the PDP.

This surprise and clandestine move could’ve informed why media aides of the Governor are yet to engage fully in a media war between the government and Mr.Oriaku.

Orji Uzor Kalu Arrested in Aba

There are reports indicating that the Senator representing Abia North, Orji Uzor Kalu, has been arrested by security agents in Aba.

Sources said the arrest was said to be in connection with an alleged kidnap of a PDP Local Government agent at the Aba North/Aba South Federal Constituency bye-election, by thugs imported from neighbouring states by the Senator.

It was earlier revealed that OUK imported thugs in 18 seater buses numbering 16 and were lodged at Enitona Hotel in Aba .

Recall that OUK had threatened to unleash violence on Aba ahead of the rerun election in which his younger brother is contesting on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a strategy of compromising the process and rig the election

Security agents are currently on the hot trail of Mascot Kalu, Nnanna Kalu, Obinna Oriaku and other APC leaders who few minutes ago were sighted distributing PVCs to their agents and giving money to security agents in order to compromise the system.

The APC leaders were seen with several bus loads of armed thugs and intimidating voters in the hope of clearing the air for them to compromise the system and rig the election.

However, the police are reported to have swung into action and are on the trail of the APC leaders who took to their heels on hearing that they were on their radar.

Aba Bye-Election: APGA, AA Candidates Step Down for PDP's Ebisike

The coast seems to be getting clearer for a landslide victory for PDP's Chimaobi Ebisike at the March 27 Aba North/Aba South Federal Constituency bye-election.

This follows the decision of the candidates of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Destiny Akaraka Nwagwu, and that of Action Alliance, Okey Prestige, to step down for the Peoples Democratic Party candidate, Chimaobi Ebisike, calling on their respective supporters to support the PDP candidate.

Speaking while announcing his decision to step down, Destiny Akaraka said, "I have decided to step down for Ebisike because I think it is the right thing to do given how well the Governor who is the leader of the PDP in Abia State has performed. We can only support such a progressive Governor and his party because they have demonstrated sufficient goodwill and dedication to the welfare of the people. It is my belief that if I continue with my ambition, it will give the party that has been promoting anti-Igbo policies including the RUGA policy which our people have loudly rejected, a chance", he said.

On his part, Okey Prestige of Action Alliance (AA) said, "After sufficient consultation with my people, I hereby withdraw from the Aba North/Aba South Federal Constituency bye-election holding tomorrow.

"I hereby urge all my supporters to support the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chima Ebisike, because PDP has demonstrated that they have the interest of Abians and Ndigbo at heart compared to the RUGA party.

"It is a huge sacrifice we are making but it is worth it. And I understand that some of my supporters will be disappointed with this decision but it is in the best interest of our people in the long run. No sacrifice is too big for us to collectively protect and promote the interest of our people.

"I hereby urge all my supporters to go with the PDP", he concluded.

Aba Bye-Election: "I am Sorry", OUK Apologises to Ikpeazu...

Following the invectives used by Senator representing Abia North and a former Governor of Abia State, Orji Uzor Kalu on the Governor of Abia State, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, in the course of the campaigns for the Aba North/Aba South Federal Constituency election, Orji Uzor Kalu has apologised to the Governor saying "In the spirit of Lent, I realise I shouldn't have gone as far as I did".

Kalu who said he regretted his utterances against Ikpeazu said "election is not war and should not be allowed to degenerate to the level it did.

"I think the issue was triggered by the fact that I fielded my younger brother as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at tomorrow's election which of course did not go down well with indigenes of Aba North/Aba South who have never been given the opportunity to represent their constituency for the past 22 years.

"But I didn't just wake up to do it. I had to bring my younger brother, though not from Aba, to come and contest the election in Aba because, in retrospect, I thought I should use him to correct the lack of quality representation another of my younger brother, Nnanna gave the people of Aba when I also brought him all the way from Igbere to represent the people of Aba for eight years from 2003 - 2011.

"So now, after some reflections, I realise that I made grave mistakes that make even APC leaders in Abia State to be so unhappy that most of them refused to join our campaign train while others are openly campaigning for the PDP even though we belong to the same APC", he said.

Continuing, the former Governor who regretted that he allowed many of such situations to get to him to the extent that he felt frustrated and "lost it in anger", said he feared for his political future if he did not make peace with Governor Okezie Ikpeazu

"I hereby apologise to the Governor of Abia State, who as Governor, is the leader of the State and should be accorded optimum respect, election or no election. If I were in his shoes, I'm not sure I'll condone even a quarter of what I've unfairly dished out to him in recent days. He is a gentleman and I pray, that as a fellow Christian, he finds a place in his heart to forgive me.

"I am sorry", Senator Orji Uzor Kalu concluded.

The Chairman of Abia State Amalgamated Traders Association, Chief Lucky Akubueze, has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to ignore the contrived publication by an “unknown Ariaria International Market stakeholder” calling for Paul Ikonne the Executive Secretary of National Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA), to be removed from office.

Addressing newsmen in Aba on Monday, Chief Akubueze described the publication as political mischief sponsored by those who do not wish the President and Abia traders well as Prince Ikonne whom he described as one of those who brought the All Progressives Congress (APC) to Abia State is one of the best representatives of the party and the President in the state.

He further described Prince Ikonne as one of only few credible politicians in APC in Abia State with very large following and commitment to the party and expressed appreciation to the President for approving Ariaria Independent Power project which has helped to imporve business activities in the market. While appealing to the President to extend the IPP to other key markets in Abia State, Chief Akubueze assured him of the unflinching support of the people.

Politics / The Deconstruction Of Orji Uzor Kalu's Many Lies by UkwaAban: 11:12pm On Mar 21, 2021
Abia PDP Media Support Group (AMSG)

Press Statement

The Deconstruction of OUK's Lies

1. Writing a response to the many lies of APC poster child in Abia State is probably one of those things we never believed we would have to do again in our state after the liberation of our people from the ritual centered and mediocre administration of Orji Uzor Kalu (OUK) in 2009.

2. We have also noted the uncommon focus with which the Ikpeazu led administration from inception decided to look forward with regard to the task of rebuilding Abia State instead of allowing past maladministration in the state to paralyze or distract it from the onerous task of delivering a new Abia to the people of the state.

3. Yet, there comes a time when a noisy drum must be reminded of the materials used to make it especially when the drum reverts to its old ways of producing evil music from the pit of hell.

4. In the past 24 hours, a video was circulated online of a campaign engagement by Senator Orji Uzor Kalu in Igwebuike Ward 4 in Aba where he had in his usual characteristic self gone to confuse rather than convince the people to vote for yet another of his younger brothers to represent the patient, hospitable and accommodating people of Aba North/South Federal Constituency who had to endure his other brother, Nnanna Orji Uzor Kalu for 8 years, a period that was described by Aba residents as the era of “deaf and dumb representation” in the Green Chambers of the National Assembly.

5. Among other things, OUK Falsely claimed that he attracted NDDC to fix Milverton Avenue in Aba and also got the federal government to fund the ongoing massive reconstruxtion and watershed management project in Ndiegoro area of Aba using the World Bank. He also claimed that the current work going on along Ngwa Road, Obohia and Ohanku were started by his administration and supported by him while in the senate.

6. Sincerely, nothing could be as demeaning to the office of a former Governor of a state as the above barefaced lies told by Senator Kalu.

7. For starters, we are aware that Senator Kalu was in jail in far away Kuje in Abuja when the administration of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu awarded Milverton, Eziukwu and Ojike Lane road projects for reconstruction by SANNAN JADOON INTERNATIONAL LTD. How he could have attracted NDDC to do the projects that Abia State Government paid for with her tax payers' money can only be imagined by his fellow “gamji” politicians and believed by the gullible that have congregated with brooms freshly processed in the coven of witches to sweep Abia into fresh destitution. But we thank God Aba people are not in anyway gullible and will demand from OUK and his associates the full refund of any money he took from NDDC in the guise of fixing Milverton Avenue or any other road in Aba. We are aware of several purported NDDC contracts awarded to his company and proxies that were never done but money collected and in due course he will vomit all of them.

8. Maybe OUK’s second false claim on World Bank and Ndiegoro can be forgiven on the basis of his limited formal education since he may not understand the process of obtaining funds from foremost global institutions like the World Bank for develoment purposes.

Interestingly, OUK was not in the senate when the National Assembly aided the State in the processing of the N27.4bn project fund from the World Bank by approving it as required by Law.

Let it be stated clearly that the processes leading to the approval of the facility commenced in the first term of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu which started in 2015, long before OUK even dreamt of manipulating himself to the Senate.

9. For those who unfortunately find themselves under OUK’s primitive political enchantment, let us state that there are at least four sources available in the constitution for a state as revenue sources for the execution of development projects including accessing funds from donor agencies and financial institutions such as the World Bank and that the procedure is that you must meet a threshold of transparency and fiscal responsibility which OUK couldn’t have met during the reign of his ill fated administration in the state; then you pay counterpart fund and then accept the offer that includes well defined repayment plan.

10. The Federal Government did not contribute one kobo to the World Bank facility and will not repay the fund. Instead, it is Abia State Government and the good people of Abia State that contributed the counterpart fund, entered into relevant agreements and will repay the facility through a clearly defined sources of funds.

11. How a supposedly literate adult will publicly claim that Ndiegoro flood mediation and road reconstruction projects are federal government projects is a direct testimony to the paucity of leadership skills at the topmost echelon of the governance of then infant Abia between 1999 and 2007.

12. Abia was begging for leadership in 1999 to lay the right foundation for the state but, unfortunately, circumstances contrived to give us what we got at a time neighboring states had lettered men envisioning and setting development agenda for the future of her people.

13. The result is that pervasive mediocrity of humongous proportion was enthroned across board leading to the destruction of every aspect of life in the state.

14. From the destruction of the then budding civil service through the mismanagement of pensions and even calling pensioners “dead woods” when they demanded for dozens of months in unpaid entitlements, the state bled even while someone claimed on record that he removed a whopping N7.6bn from state coffers to import second hand clothes (okirika) that nobody ever saw not to talk of wear in Abia State.

15. As at the time the infamous administration left office, more than 2 years salary was owed LGA workers and many months wages owed teachers thereby laying the miry foundation and bequeathing a burdensome legacy of salary logjam to subsequent administrations which have been trying to evolve ways of paying off the arrears while also transforming revenue and pursuing other sources for funds to execute development projects.

16. Not even healthcare in the state was spared of the regime of mediocrity superintended by OUK in the state.

17. The so called free Medicare his administration promoted is the worst healthcare abuse in Africa to date.

In fact, in better climes those who superintended over that infamy should have been arrested and tried for what happened then.

18. Just imagine sending some nurses in an ambulance to visit market squares and share drugs to unsuspecting citizens in the name of free healthcare? What kind of diagnosis did they do? What medical records did they keep and what kind of follow up was possible in such a dubious circumstance? So, if one runs temperature and they suspect malaria and administer anti malarial drugs, what if it persists and proper diagnosis reveals typhoid, wouldn't one have abused the anti malarial?

19. When you hear OUK talk about free education, the question is who received the free education? There was simply no free education because he chased our children into private schools where parents paid exorbitant fees to educate their children with his retrogressive policies.

20. It is on record that public school enrollment at that time was far below 100,000 students and pupils but today, under Governor Ikpeazu, we have enrollment of more than 650,000 students and pupils in our public schools with our primary school pupils enjoying free tuition courtesy of Universal Basic Education scheme started by a PDP federal government.

21. Our school children from primary one to six receive free school meals and the Ikpeazu administration has constructed more than 500 new classroom blocks and done 4 model schools across the state.

No need restating the fact that under Ikpeazu, for 5 years back to back, Abia State came first in performance ranking in the West Africa School Certificate Examinations (WASCE) in Nigeria.

22. Sincerely, we feel ashamed having to compare the locust years of OUK with the current high performing administration led by Dr Ikpeazu because doing so elevates what was obviously a shambolic administration to a level that can even be seen as, in any form or manner, comparable to the acclaimed best ever administration to date in the state.

23. If not that some persons are trying to convince themselves that representation at the National Assembly is now only sexually transmitted and does not require any pedigree or some known achievements in learning and service, we wouldn't have bothered.

24. To worsen the situation, we have otherwise decent men and women we hitherto respected in our dear state now kowtowing to same man they previously and rightly attributed the past woes of the state to in their moment of sobriety.

25. What exactly made some of these supposedly lettered, previously self respecting and respectable men and women subject themselves to flocking, with such an ignoble subservience, with the type of character they taught their children never to become or associate with, because of political desperation?

26. It is shocking that a man who plundered and raped Abia and left Aba for dead with audio road projects popularly called "Dubai roads" will have the temerity to make the type of claims we heard in that inglorious campaign video of mischief, half-truths and outright falsehood.

27. Sincerely, there are individuals in his RUGA supporting party that we hitherto would have vowed will be ashamed to associate with his political dynasty built upon lies and gamji, yet, right before our eyes, they are clapping like infants being given their first set of toys while the same man has returned to Aba and Abia State to attempt to confuse, blindfold and delete the memories of five million Abians.

28. We make bold to state that the federal government has no involvement in the confirmed 106 completed and 53 ongoing road projects of the Ikpeazu administration and we challenge anyone with contrary information to publicly provide proof to that effect.

29. As far as the Abia North/South Federal Constituency election is concerned, we are waiting to hear how the other candidates will vote on crucial issues of RUGA, open grazing, true federalism and federal character if elected to represent the good people of the constituency.

30. Our people are now wise enough to know that the job of a legislator is to make laws in support of good governance and welfare of his constituents and want to know where every candidate stand on critical issues that require legislation as it affects the people before they vote on the 27th or March.

31. We do not expect any Abian to support any candidate sponsored by our former Governor who publicly confirmed that he introduced RUGA in the south East region and continually boasts of his affinity with killer herdsmen that are killing, kidnapping and destroying our farmlands.

32. One of our past leaders, Dr M. I. Okpara, told us that “first fool is not a fool but second fool is the proper foolish man”. Our people will not be fooled a second time by the Orji Uzor Kalu family to mortgage an important seat like Aba North/South Federal Constituency to them again.

Aba North/South Election: Group Uncovers Plot to Cause Mayhem and Rig Polls

The Defenders of Democracy, (TDD) Abia Chapter

Press Statement

Following credible information reaching us from impeccable sources and our own independent findings, we wish to bring to the notice of the relevant authorities and the general public that we have uncovered plots by some unscrupulous and desperate Abia politicians to hire hoodlums from within and outside the state to unleash mayhem on citizens, INEC officials and security agents charged with protecting the electoral system during the forthcoming Aba North/South Federal Constituency election of Saturday 27th March 2021.

Information reaching us from various meetings held in Abuja, Umunneochi, Igbere and Aba indicate that the plot include hiring hoodlums from outside and within the state who will be dressed in military uniforms that will be supplied by a former Army Chief who incidentally is one of the conspirators and also attended the meeting in Igbere and Aba at the Aba GRA residence of a former minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

We wish to use this medium to inform President Muhammadu Buhari and the security establishments in Abuja and Abia State to take note and take the necessary measures needed to protect innocent voters and INEC officials from desperate politicians who see election as a do or die affair as we are aware that the conspirators intend to bring in the hoodlums on Friday and camp them at two locations we are already aware of in Aba.

The kernel of the plot is to use the fake army officers and hoodlums to unleash mayhem and scare away voters to allow room for the already prepared results of the election that favors a particular candidate to be released in active connivance with a designated Returning Officer from the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, whose name has been submitted to the Resident Electoral Commissioner in Abia State from Abuja.

Let it be known by the plotters that our group has recorded audio and video of their various meetings and will deploy election monitors with cameras across the federal constituency to report events before, during and even after the election as part of our social responsibility to ensure the deepening of democracy in Nigeria.

This information of ours should not be taken for granted or treated with levity as the actors involved have shown sufficient capacities to maim and kill in their desperate bid for power as recently confessed by one of them who was a former Governor and has his brother contesting in the election.

We trust the security agents to be up to their responsibilities and prevent a repeat of the violence that happened in Ekiti just last week during the conduct of a similar election.

Politics / Aba Residents Reject Mascot Over Uzor Kalu's Desperation To Cover ₦7.6B EFCC Fra by UkwaAban: 9:57pm On Mar 21, 2021
The race for Abia Federal Constituency election has started and the four gladiators are already warming up for the March 27, 2021 battle.

They are; Hon. Chimaobi Ebisike (PDP), Mr. Destiny Nwagwu ( APGA), Mascot Uzor Kalu ( APC) and Dr. Okey Prestige (AA).

However, Aba residents are seriously angry with the ambition of Mascot Uzor Kalu of the APC mainly for two reasons - how insecurity caused by the APC led adminstration has turned Nigeria into killing field and the inordinate ambition of Mascot Uzor Kalu, the younger brother to the former Governor of the state, Orji Uzor Kalu who ruled and ruined Abia state for 8 years and ran the state like a family empire, even imposed his deaf and dump brother, Hon. Nnanna Uzor kalu as a member of the House of Representatives for 8 years which turned Abia politics into a family business with their over bearing Mother calling the shots from their Nweke street residence, turning herself to a demi - god and an influencial SHE, WHO MUST BE OBEYED.

An Aba resident that spoke to our reporter, Chief Oblior Chukwu wondered why Orji Uzor Kalu and his Mother, Eunice Uzor Kalu are trying hard to pocket Abia resources once again after laying the foundation that has kept the state underdeveloped .

" What was the legacy of Uzor Kalu and his brother Nnanna kalu in Aba? Can anyone point to a standing project of the Orji's anywhere? If he did well, why is Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu building now, the Aba of our dream", he queried.

Another resident of Osusu road, Aba Mrs. Joy Okechukwu, a petty trader wondered why the Uzor kalu's are thinking Ndi Aba are their political mugu. The lady from Bende LGA but resident in Aba, told our reporter how Osusu road has been left to grow trees in the middle of road, till Okezie Ikpeazu led administration breathed life into it. For me, i will vote for PDP, to encourage Ikpeazu to continue with good works in Aba.

The feelings of Aba residents was also captured by Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu during the PDP Aba Federal Constituency Flag - off campaign at Etche road market field on Monday March 15, 2021.

Hear him'", "I have a biological younger brother who is a qualified lawyer and lives in Aba. As Governor, I can use my influence to make him the candidate of our party in this election. My question is this... If every person who is in power decides to send his youngest brother to the Federal House, when will the sons and daughters of ordinary people ever get the chance to get into positions of power?

By the way, these people who want to send their last brother to the Green Chamber to represent Aba, while they stay in the Red Chamber, please ask them to show you one road they did in Aba when they were in power that is still standing today. They did Osusu and few years later, plantains were growing in the middle of the road.

Chai! Umu Aba,

Ndia choro iri anyi mugu!,. he ended hilariously.

On the 27th of this month, ha ga ama na Aba enwegi mugu".

Before Aba residence file out on March 27, 2021 to cast their votes, there are several questions that should border them.

1. Who was, is the real owner of ZEROCK Construction Limited which was incorporated in 1999 and was given all major construction in Abia state? Where is the address of the company now? Was it hurriedly incorporated to steal our money?

2. How did Abia state funds up to N19.3bn then, end up in the coffers of Zerock construction between 1999-2005?

3. How did Abia state end up paying for the loan used to acquire Governor Kalu’s 3 ships, MV Neya, MV Zena and MV Ibom at the cost of $27.5million dollars in 2002, when money had value, while still a sitting Governor of Abia state?

4. How did Ex-Governor Kalu acquire 4 B737 Aircraft for Slok Airline that was never in existence until 2002?

5. How was N5.6bn in cash, and N5.8bn in cheques; a total of N11.4bn withdrawn from the Joint State and Local Government accounts between 2002 - 2005 Orji Uzor Kalu administration for 8 years?

6. How did “Mother Excellency” Mrs Eunice Uzor collect Abia state cheques totaling over N500m and paying same into Menco Resources, Nnachisons & Reality International accounts operated by her in Intercontinental Bank Aba?

7. Who are the real owners of the company Firmbose Limited that collected Abia state funds of over N400m as at that time? Where is the company address now?

8. How did Hallmark Bank, on behalf of Abia state Government paid GT Bank a loan of N2bn obtained by Zerock Construction Limited? When did a government start guaranteeing a loan for “Private” company? What happened to the loan?

9. Why did Abia state government under the watch of the Uzor kalu's pay GT Bank for a loan of N1.8bn obtained by Zerock Construction Company; a repayment which even ran till March 2007? Again why would a government pay back a loan obtained by a private company?

10. How did a company Wallhouse Limited owned by Chief Chuka Odum (Deputy Chief of Staff to Ex- Governor Kalu) obtain Abia state Government funds to the tune of N350m as at that time money had value?

11. How did 2 banks Hallmark and Manny Banks obtain deductions at source from Federal Allocation for Abia state from 1999 till kalu left office and how were these deduction utilized?

The truth is that; Orji Uzor kalu is trying to plant his brother for House of Representatives now, and give him APC Governorship ticket in 2023, all aimed at controlling the state resources again as to block his EFCC N7.6 Billion Fraud case.

Sadly, the man will find out after March 27, 2021 that "ABA ENWEGHI MUGU".

How Orji Uzor Kalu and Brother ‘Killed’ Hon Ossy Prestige

By our reporters

Information has filtered in on how former governor of Abia State, Orji Uzor Kalu and his brother, Mascot Uzor kalu allegedly ‘murdered’ Representative Ossy Prestige who until his death on February 6, 2021 represented Aba North/Aba South federal constituency in a German hospital.

Sources close to the Prestige family revealed that the plot to send the late Prestige out of the land of the living was hatched in Abuja and executed in Germany. This, it stated, was to ensure that the man was removed from the seat to pave way for Mascot to replace him.

The source noted that Orji was part of the few individuals that knew about Ossy Prestige’s ill health and therefore recommended the hospital where he was treated and died. It was alleged that the unsuspecting Prestige took everything Orji Kalu told him about his treatment hook, line and sinker, unaware of the closeness of some of the doctors in the hospital with Kalu who was previously treated in Germany for undisclosed ailment.

It was alleged that no sooner the late Prestige was admitted than Kalu went hay wire, releasing a rumour that Ossy Prestige was dead. This, the source disclosed, got to the ear of late federal lawmaker who promptly called him (Kalu) from his hospital bed to enquire why he was spreading the rumour of his death.

Kalu reportedly denied the allegation, claiming that he neither said anything about Prestige’s death nor told anybody about his health condition. However, back in Nigeria, Kalu and his brother, Mascot continued to inform people that the Aba federal constituency is for grabs because it would soon be vacant. They assured that the leadership of their party in Abuja will ensure that INEC calls for election within weeks of the announcement of the death of Prestige.

In order to give teeth to their plot, Mascot quietly rolled out his campaign drums for the constituency, even as the occupant was still in hospital in far away Germany battling for his life, asking people to join in Mascot’s campaign with the assurance that the result of the election will be written by INEC before the actual poll.

A close family friend of Ossy Prestige at the Abia House of Assembly, who wanted his name out of print referred this reporter to the Hon Ossy Prestige family, saying, “anything I say now would amount to hearsay. They’ll tell you the details. After all, they’re not letting in.”

He added, “They (members of the family) have gotten somebody to replace him on the seat. The constituency seat will never go to anybody not approved by the family. If anybody thinks that by killing Ossy Prestige, he can send his brother or acolyte to the House of Representatives to replace him, he’s making a big mistake”.

It will be recalled that latest online media propaganda sponsored by the Kalus has it that Orji Uzor Kalu assisted Hon Ossy Prestige with the sum of 50,815 US Dollars while in the German hospital, adding that he paid the money through his shipping line in Apapa, Lagos. This information has angered supporters of the Late Prestige who vowed to retaliate against Mascot for trying to play politics with the death of the much loved law maker. One of them who is from Anambra but resident in Aba told our reporter that “Ossy Prestige is richer than Orji Uzor and has many businesses in Nigeria and China. How can that man who all of us know destroyed Abia State claim that he paid the medical bills of Ossy because of election? He and his brother will not come anywhere near that seat and we will pay that family back for introducing rituals and other evils into Abia while looting the state dry.”
