PoliticsRe: Blame Nnamdi Kanu If Violence Erupts In Nigeria: Northern Coalition by umunaija: 11:53pm On Aug 07, 2017
Anytime they talk about north, they use " 19 northern states " but they always address south as either *5 eastern states * *6 southern states * or *6 western states *, (divide and rule) southern Nigeria you guys better wake up. Remember this (If you refuse to help your neighbors to put out a fire burning his house, it may burn it down and enter your own and no one will be there to help you.) Thanks
PoliticsPan Yoruba Group Calls For Creation Of Oodua Republic by umunaija(op): 6:08pm On Jun 12, 2017
Following the recent agitations for the creation of Biafra by some Nigerians of Igbo extraction and the quit notice given to Igbos by the Arewa Youths coalition in the Northern region, the pan Yoruba group, O’odua Nationalist Coalition, (ONAC), has called for the creation of Oodua republic for Yorubas in the South West region of the country.

The group which is made up of 18 Pan Yoruba groups including the Oodua Peoples Congress, (OPC), Oodua Liberation Movement, (OLM), Oodua Republic Coalition, (ORC), Yoruba Revolutionary Congress, (YORC), Oodua Muslim-Christian Dialogue Group , (OMDG), Yoruba Students Nationalist Front, (YOSNF), Oodua Hunters Union, (OHUN) and 11 other groups, made the call in a statement released and signed by its leaders namely Oluwole Suleimann, Michael Popoola, and Mrs. Aduke Fadahunsi.

According to ONAC, it has become necessary for the Yoruba's to have their own republic following the unending problems and conflict around the true leaders of Nigeria. The group called on Yorubas residing in other regions in Nigeria, particularly in territories where Hausa-Fulanis abound, to be guided by a strong sense of history and the fact that they would not be spared by those who claim to be their hosts.

“We advise them to begin to make alternative plans for the inevitable upheaval being promoted by the Fulani oligarchy. The North has always been the aggressor because of the region’s loss of power and the unhidden desire to make Nigeria the irreversible extension of the Fulani emirate. What we see is violent conflict of civilisations which can only be resolved when each region go her own way. In the bid to keep Nigeria as one country, millions of people have been killed and the lives of children wasted, the future pauperized and the potentials of Yoruba young men and women bottled or chained with fetters of iron. Today, we make the historic declaration that Yoruba people are ready for our own Oduduwa Republic. We have watched events these past days. The cloud is getting thicker. The poisonous rain appear ready to fall. It is time for the Yoruba people to be ready to defend our homeland from being seized by local imperial elements and their collaborators. We assert Yoruba self-determination and sovereignty. We shall work for it. We will actualize it. It is time for the Yoruba people to stand for Oodua Republic without any further delay. Yoruba people this time will not support any attack on Self determination. We shall mobilise the masses and prevent Yoruba people from being used for any attack on the long suffering indigenous peoples of the South East and the South- South. This is not the first time we have called for Oodua Republic. In April 2015, we organized a massive rally demanding for Oodua Republic. But today, this demand has become even more crucial than any other thing.” ONAC said.

Continuing the group said

“Our leaders beginning from Chief Obafemi Awolowo were jailed on trumped up charges. 28 leaders of Yoruba were imprisoned unjustly. Chief M.K.O Abiola was murdered. The industrial bases built by Awolowo were destroyed by the military rookies appointed to control the South West region, our culture destroyed and the future of our young people put asunder. Today, many Yoruba people have become scavengers across the world fleeing from a hostile, bloodletting and malicious country that hold no promise of good and abundant life for the long suffering and exhausted population. We call on Yoruba people all over the world to prepare for a sovereign nation for the people of the South West. We are over 50 million and far more than the population of 140 countries in the world. Yoruba will be the third biggest nation in Africa and about the 28th biggest nation in the world. We are big and knowledgeable enough to be a sovereign nation. We assert the Yoruba self-determination without any further delay.”

Christianity Etc6 Types Of Blessings And Curses by umunaija(op): 9:52am On May 21, 2017
The book of Deuteronomy chapter 28 is the primary scripture in the Bible that deals with blessings and curses. There are literally millions of people #living on the earth at this very moment that are under a curse. The general reasons why people are either blessed or cursed is obedience, or failure to obey the word of #God. “And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth…..if though wilt not hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God…. that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee”- #Deuteronomy 28:1, 15). We can therefore conclude that when we obey the word of the Lord, then he will bless us; however, when we are disobedient, he will curse us. There are 6 types of blessing and curses that we can deduce from Deuteronomy 28, these are: 6 #Types of Blessings

Exaltation. The Lord promised #the children of Israel that if they should hearken or listen and obey his commandment, then he will exalt them above all the nations upon the earth. When you obey the commandments of the Lord as written in the Bible (remember we are not under #the law but under #grace, therefore we need to obey the commandments that comes under grace in the New Testament), he promises that he will exalt you wherever you go. Everyone will see that the hands of the Lord are upon you.
Prosperity. The Lord promised the Children of Israel that when they obey his commandment then “blessed shalt thou be in the field….and the fruit of the ground, and the fruit of thy cattle… blessed shall be thy basket and thy store….The Lord shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses, and in all that thou settest thine hand unto; and he shall bless thee in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee”-Deuteronomy 28:3-5, 8. This promise is being made to each one of us today. The Lord has promised us that he will make us prosperous if we walk in his commandment. You will never lack.
Victory. The Lord said unto the Israelites, “The Lord shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways” (vs. 7). When you walk in the fear of the Lord people will rise up against you but their counsel shall not stand because “No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper…”- Isaiah 54:17
Head and not the Tale- The head is the part of the body that makes the decision, while the tale is dragged around. God is not promising you that he will make you the boss of your company or head of government, but what he is telling you that he will exalt you and people will come to you instead of you going to them for advice and blessing. He will set you up and you will be respected by even your enemies.
Fruitfulness. Children are a heritage from the Lord (Ps 127:3) and is therefore seen as a blessing. The Lord has promised that the woman womb will be fruitful (Ps 128:3) when you obey the Lord. One of the things that is very noticeable with the Israelites is that the #men had a lot of children.
Health. Sickness is not of God (though at times he will afflict you with sickness when you do not obey the Lord). When you obey the Lord he will not allow sickness to have free reign in your life. If he does it is to build you or to prove a point in your life. Many people are sick because of their action, for example they consume too many sweets.
6 Types of Curses in the Bible They are 6 #types of curse in the Bible, these are:

Humiliation
Barrenness- The opposite of fruitfulness is barrenness. One of the reasons why many #women cannot get pregnant is because a curse exists in the family or specifically on her life, or that of the husband. Additionally, some of the complications women are having that prevents them from having a baby are caused from a curse in the family. Perhaps the man of the woman committed a sin or did something that caused the Lord, or #Satan, to curse the womb of the woman. Or the cause of her barrenness could be that of a generational curse in the family.
Sickness of every kind. One evidence of the Children of Israel being curse is when sickness is upon the land, “The Lord will afflict you with the boils of Egypt and with tumors, festering sores and the itch, from which you cannot be cured. The Lord will afflict you with madness, blindness and confusion of mind. At midday you will grope about like a blind person in the dark. You will be unsuccessful in everything you do; day after day you will be oppressed and robbed, with no one to rescue you.”- Deuteronomy 28:27-29
Many people are suffering from sickness because there is curse in the family or upon their lives. If you or someone you know is always suffering from a particular sickness and there seems to be no cure or the sickness getting better, then the sickness is caused from a curse that needs to be broken. Moreover, it is not natural for anyone to always getting broken legs, meeting in accidents etc. Unless this curse is broken then the sickness will continue.

Poverty and failure. It is not the will of God that his people live in poverty, poverty or lack is not for the children of God. If you are always working but can’t seems to make ends meet no matter what you do, or you never have enough then you may be under a curse.
There are some people that are always broke, always in debt and always lacking. Today they are on top, but tomorrow they are on their face. It does not matter what they do or how much money they received each month, they always lack. I do agree that at times the Lord will test your faithfulness or bring you through a process of lack, but this is not forever. If you are always ‘going through a process’ then your process may be caused from a curse. Additionally, if everything you put your hands to fail, then something is seriously wrong. No one always have bad luck or failure.

Defeat. When the Children of Israel walked contrary to the will of God, God would at times allow their enemies to come upon them and defeat them. You can know you are under a curse when people are always fighting against you and succeeding, especially when you are innocent. It is not natural for people always to fight against you and win, if they do then you need to take a check of your life.
Tale and not the head. If the head is the one that makes the decision, then the tale is the one that is always following or being drag along. God does not expect or create us to always be beneath others but he wants us to be above. If people are always stepping on you and your always be dragged along, then your life may be under a curse.
In your spare time please take some time to read the entire chapter of Deuteronomy 28. If you believe your life is under a curse, then you need to break the curse. I will post in another article the things that can bring you under a curse and how to break them. Have anything to share? I would love to hear from you. Please register if you like this article and also share it with your friends.

Christianity EtcRecognizing God's Text Using Truecaller by umunaija(op): 9:28am On May 21, 2017
How cool would it be if we could actually just pull out our phone and text God? I always assumed that there would be no such thing as hardship if we can communicate with God on the spot. If every time something bad happened we could just ask for instant advice, wouldn't the bad go away? Jesus could communicate perfectly with God, though, and he still faced incredible hardship. I believe communication means a shoulder to go to and peace through whatever you're stumbling over. It doesn't mean the disappearance of every struggle.

In Mathew 27:51, just after Jesus was crucified, it says that: "At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom." (NIV). Don't quote me on my biblical knowledge but this is my explanation: In the old testament, people had to enter a special place to communicate with God. They had to go through a curtain where they could then be in His presence. This verse explains that when Jesus was crucified, he tore that barrier that separated his people from him. Do you know why he did that? Simply because he wanted to text you back. He knew voices reached out to him and he cared.

So when you think about it, we actually can sort of text God. We can shoot up a question to the one who always listens. Sometimes it feels like you're texting that one friend that never replies but the truth is that God is always at his phone reading his texts. Jesus made that a possibility. Now, I'd be lying if I said I always remember that this is true. There's always going to be times when you're down so low and you're getting scraped up by the ground and you really don't think God is listening in. You think you got the wrong number. You think your signals too weak. What we think is trouble on God's end of the conversation is actually trouble on our end. It can be hard to understand when God is speaking to you, and everyone deals with that. I believe God speaks to each and every person in a unique way.

Another thing you have to watch for (and in my opinion, this is the hardest part) is who's texting. The devil wants to get in our minds and he wants to lead us astray. The devil never wants to help us. He can make us confused about our source of wisdom. You know when you get a text and you look at your phone but you just see a number; you have no idea who it is. Sometimes we look at a message given to us and can't tell whether it was from demons or Jesus. That's where the genius invention of caller I.D. comes in. John 10: 27 says "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me." (NIV). The important advice here about spiritual caller I.D. is that we need to be like sheep that wait for the voice of their shepherd. Sheep that won't listen to a thief or a liar. We need to learn to recognize the voice of God. That's when we are able to set up a contact in God's name. No one's perfect, though, so don't feel like the worst human around if sometimes you do find yourself listening in to the wrong voice. Just stop, take a step back, look at the bible and remember what you know about God and call out to him.

Okay, quick wrap up. Here's what I'm trying to get across. You can communicate with God and in fact, God loves to communicate with you. Jesus made that possible. Through any stumbling block in our path, we can still converse with our all-knowing father. The devil wants to confuse us but Jesus gives us a way to know it's him. If you feel God's number is pretty far down in your recent messages, go and give him a text. He'll jump for joy even higher than when you finally get that text from your crush. Yup, even more than that. ?

Christianity EtcWhat If Christ Had Not Risen? by umunaija(op): 12:09pm On Apr 16, 2017
I have been thinking a lot lately as I read about the death and resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ these past couple of weeks. Questions keep popping in my mind, questions like; what if Jesus had not risen? What if The Resurrection story did not happen? What if Mary had found Jesus laying dead in the tomb on the morning of that third day? I didn’t like the answers that came to mind as these questions ran through my mind;
If Jesus Had Not Risen, our faith is in vain, Christianity means nothing, we are still in our sins and we are of all men most miserable.
And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain. Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not. For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised: And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins. Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished. If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.
1 Corinthians 15:14-19

If Christ Had Not Risen:

That would make me a sinner still
This would be so because if Jesus did not rise from the dead, my faith is futile. It means that I am still lost in sin and separated from God.

I would be condemned to eternal damnation
It means I am sentenced to eternal death in hell. I have my part in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone. It means spending eternity with the tormentor, traitor, adversary, father of lies, thief, murderer, and destroyer, the enemy of my soul, the devil!
I would not have peace
If Jesus had not resurrected, it means I do not have Him, The Prince of Peace living in me. It means I do not have His peace to survive in this world of chaos and troubles.

I would know no joy
The joy Christ died to give will not be effected if He had remained dead in the tomb. That means I would not know this unspeakable joy that is full of glory. I would be completely subject to the spirit of misery, sorrow, depression, gloom, desolation…

I would not know true love
True love, love in its real and true form is poured into our hearts by The Holy Spirit. Romans 5:5 But if Christ had not resurrected and gone to The Father, I would neither have The Holy Spirit nor be filled with God’s Love. I would be floating in the foolishness of lust, the unstable love of this world with its fickle and fleeting nature.

I would be subject to the authority and influence of the devil
And boy, is the enemy the worst being to be influenced by or what! I cannot even imagine what my life would have been if I remained under the influence of the enemy. If Jesus had not died, resurrected and taken all powers, and taken the keys of death and hell from the devil, I would definitely be subject to the authority and influence the enemy.

But Praise God Jesus Is Alive!
Very early on Sunday morning the women went to the tomb, carrying the spices that they had prepared. When they found the stone rolled away from the entrance, they went in. But they did not find the body of the Lord[a] Jesus, and they did not know what to think.Suddenly two men in shining white clothes stood beside them. The women were afraid and bowed to the ground. But the men said, “Why are you looking in the place of the dead for someone who is alive? Jesus isn’t here! He has been raised from death. Remember that while he was still in Galilee, he told you, ’The Son of Man will be handed over to sinners who will nail him to a cross. But three days later he will rise to life.’ Then they remembered what Jesus had said. Luke 24:1-8 NKJV

Hallelujah! Since Jesus is alive;

We are holy and can enjoy fellowship with The father.
We have peace and joy.
We are not subject to the enemy, he is under our foot.
We can enjoy eternal life here on earth and spend eternity with God.
He lives as our High Priest always making intercessions for us.
Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them. Hebrew 7:25

Is this not exciting and reassuring? That Jesus speaks and intercedes for us, He puts in His word for us, when we pray to The Father and even when we cannot pray, He intercedes for us.

And then:

We rule and reign over all powers of the enemy
…which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all. Ephesians 1:20-23 NKJV

But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus. Ephesians 2:4-6 NKJV

Since God has made us alive together in His resurrection and made us seat together in the heavenly places in Christ according to the verses in Ephesians 2 above, in Christ then, we are also seated above all that Christ is seated above according to the bible verses in Ephesians 1 above;

All principality
All Power
All might
All Dominion
Everything that is name in this age and in the age to come
Look at all the benefits of The Resurrection! Thank God Jesus is alive, thank God the tomb is empty, thank God the grave could not hold Him back! Hallelujah!

Do you know why we celebrate Easter?
Have you encountered The Resurrected Christ?
Will He take you to Heaven when He descends like He ascended?
Have a super blessed Easter! Have a super blessed Resurrection celebration!

Christianity EtcStart Seeing Hurting People by umunaija(op): 11:52am On Apr 16, 2017
I am guessing you too have noticed the bumper sticker reading, “Start Seeing Motorcycles.” Well, that is working. I am really noticing them more, I can’t help seeing one and thinking of that bumper sticker. So it caused me to think maybe I should commission a company to make a bumper sticker with the phrase, “Start Seeing Hurting People.”Maybe it would raise our awareness of the pain of suffering that is all around in our town, in our neighborhoods and even in our pews. With that awareness in mind this blog today is about doing outreach from the perspective of if you want to truly make a kingdom impact (again with the doctrine of salvation in mind the Holy Spirit converts we do not.) we need to start seeing hurting people. In the encounter, Jesus had with the woman at the well in John 4, he did something amazing he shows us how to notice hurting people. Today we will examine just how he did that. Here is a portion of that conversation:

Jesus: Would you draw water, and give Me a drink?

Woman: I cannot believe that You, a Jew, would associate with me, a Samaritan woman; much less ask me to give You a drink. Jews, you see, have no dealings with Samaritans.(The Voice)

Jesus saw her through spiritual eyes.

If Jesus looked at her through the eyes of culture, he would have seen only this about her, she was unclean, she had a very questionable past. She was a woman, who in that culture alone, meant she had a second class status just by virtue of her gender. Now add to that her moral issues of having had five husbands, which was two more that society allows and culturally she was the one the Lord should have just ignored.

If Jesus saw her through the eyes of history, she and her entire Samaritan clan were enemies of the Jews. As one historian recounts, “The woman reminded him that Jews and Samaritans had no social dealings. This situation dated back to 722 b.c. when the Assyrian captivity was concluded by Sargon, who resettled nearly thirty thousand people from Samaria to other points in the Assyrian Empire. They were replaced by captives from other countries, and a pluralistic culture of sorts developed. Any Jew would become ceremonially unclean by using a vessel handled by a Samaritan.”

Viewing this woman through the eyes of history she was unclean. If Jesus views her through social eyes this conversation should have never taken place. The person with whom he spoke was not only a Samaritan but a woman. For a Jewish man to speak to a Samaritan woman was unheard of, and she probably had never experienced a similar conversation. She represents an oppressed minority, still a common reality in many Middle Eastern culture. But Jesus was neither racist nor sexist. He knew that his question would lead to far more than an exchange of words and water.

Jesus did not see anyone who was an outcast. He didn’t see a woman who, by making contact with her, would make him unclean. What Jesus saw was an opportunity to share the hope that we have in being united with Jesus in his kingdom.

Jesus respected but did not judge her journey.

Jesus pushed all metaphors aside and dealt in straight talk. Like this woman, we must recognize our sin and understand that God sees us for what we are, broken and weighed down by sin and guilt. This woman lived outside the boundaries of any religious or cultural standards of her day. Confronted by the sting of the law through Jesus’ penetrating analysis of her moral condition, the woman like so many of us would change the subject. Let’s talk about religion, where is the proper place of worship? As we encounter hurting people with social and moral backgrounds outside of our religious norms, be prepared for the conversation quickly becoming uncomfortable. How you handle those conversations may determine if this relationship moves forward.

As we encounter hurting people with social and moral backgrounds outside of our religious norms, be prepared for the conversation quickly becoming uncomfortable. How you handle those conversations may determine if this relationship moves forward.

Jesus chose to not judge her checkered past, but instead offer her a different path.

Jesus offers the hurting a different path.

Dr. Martin Luther, suggested the conversation should have gone this way, “I would be happier to reverse the order and give you a drink. In fact, this is the reason for My presence here. I am asking for a drink to quench My physical thirst that I might have occasion to give you a drink. If you only realized what a gift is now to be found on earth, you would ask Me for it, and I would give you a drink that would taste better than this water. It is of the utmost importance to recognize this gift and to know Him who gives it. But neither the gift, nor the Giver is known.” 1 Our outreach is meant to point people to the gift, faith in the redeeming work of Christ Jesus and the giver, God the Father who sent his Son to redeem the hurting.

So we pray that God will give us the spiritual eyes to start seeing hurting people.

Christianity EtcWhat Age Is Your Earliest Memory From? by umunaija(op): 10:16am On Apr 09, 2017
Im curious to see the replies here. I was talking to a therapist at my doctors yesterday and he found it curious that I have very little memory of my childhood up up until about age 11 or 12.

Starting at about 11-12, I can remember all kinds of things, most in great detail.

I remember very vague things earlier, but its just small things here and there, and only about 3-4 of them. I guess my earliest memory was at a house we lived in, my sister and I were playing on the side of the house and I fell and scraped my chin, thats it nothing before, after for years. I was about 8yrs old when that happend.

If something traumatic did happen and my mind is blocking it out, Im not sure I really want to know at this point in my life, since Im grown now.

Christianity EtcWhat Is Your Reason For Believing In Christianity? by umunaija(op): 9:42am On Nov 06, 2016
I'll give some possible reasons for believing in Christianity, and I am sure I will miss some.
(1) Indoctrinated to believe in Christianity. If it ain't broke don't fix it.
(2) Believe the Bible contains prophecies of Jesus that prove it is divinely inspired.
(3) Felt something to confirm your beliefs such as while being saved.
(4) Experienced things like gifts of the Holy Spirit.
(5) Observed fruits of the Holy Spirit making you more Christlike.
(6) ... (possibilities I forgot)
I hope that people who reply might be somewhat specific.

Christianity EtcI Had This Horrifying Dream, Could It Mean Something? Please Advice by umunaija(op): 3:05am On Oct 18, 2015
I saw this on a new Nigeria christian forum, maybe your answer will help the girl. Will direct her here. She wrote:

I have never experienced so much sorrow in real life as I did in this dream. I vaguely remember this taking place in a living room. There was some grown adult beating his wife, and beating his kid. It wasn't just some random person but I felt like I knew him somehow. He was doing horrendous acts for absolutely no reason and I was witnessing this right in front of me. After seeing enough I got so mad that I beat him senseless and then he died. This is the part that's confusing and that really hit me hard. When he died I saw my three year old nephew come out of him. I saw the innocence of my three year old nephew walking around in that very person I killed in my dream. I broke and I started screaming in regret and crying so hard. I wanted to take back that action so bad! It was not just a regular cry, it was a cry I can't even put into words. The cry was one of the most painful and most sorrowful/regretful cries I have experienced. I was pleading everything even up to my own life to please take it back as I was watching my three year old nephew playing and exploring. I didn't care about anything except to take that action back and let him live. This dream was powerful because I have never experienced such pain before and it made me realize the innocence of humanity. Even though this man in my dream was masked with evil and did the most offensive and evil acts. I didn't see any of it when he died. All I saw was innocence, value, hope, love, and so much more. In a sense I felt evil because of my own action and it was killing me inside. I can't ever imagine coping with that sorrow and regret. Do you think this dream meant anything?

Romance10 Things All Girls And Women Need To Know( A Must Read) by umunaija(op): 6:27am On Oct 09, 2015
1. If you choose to wear shirts that show off your boobs, you will attract boys. To be more specific, you will attract the kind of boys that like to look down girls’ shirts. If you want to date a guy who likes to look at other girls’ boobs and chase skirts, then great job; keep it up. If you don’t want to date a guy who ogles at the breasts of other women, then maybe you should stop offering your own breasts up for the ogling. All attention is not equal. You think you want attention, but you don’t. You want respect. All attention is not equal.

2. When you talk about your friends “anonymously” on Social networks, we know exactly who you’re talking about. People are smarter than you think they are. Stop posting passive-aggressive statuses about the myriad of ways your friends disappoint you.

3. Newsflash: the number of times you say “I hate drama” is a pretty good indicator of how much you love drama. Non-dramatic people don’t feel the need to discuss all the drama they didn’t start and aren’t involved in.

4. “Follow your heart” is probably the worst advice ever.

5. Smoking is not cool.

6. Don't give a boyfriend anything that belongs to a husband.

7. Stop saying things like, “I don’t care what anyone thinks about me.” First of all, that’s not true. And second of all, if it is true, you need a perspective shift. Your reputation matters – greatly. You should care what people think of you.

8. Don’t play coy or stupid or helpless to get attention. Don’t pretend something is too heavy so that a boy will carry it for you. Don’t play dumb to stroke someone’s ego. Don’t bat your eyelashes in exchange for attention and expect to be taken seriously, ever. You can’t have it both ways. Either you show the world that you have a brain and passions and skills, or you don’t. There are no damsels in distress managing corporations, running countries, or managing households. The minute you start batting eyelashes, eyelashes is all you’ve got.

9. You are beautiful. You are enough. The world we live in is twisted and broken and for your entire life you will be subjected to all kinds of lies that tell you that you are not enough. You are not thin enough. You are not tan enough. You are not smooth, soft, shiny, firm, tight, fit, silky, blonde, hairless enough. Your teeth are not white enough. Your legs are not long enough. Your clothes are not stylish enough. You are not educated enough. You don’t have enough experience. You are not creative enough.

There is a beauty industry, a fashion industry, a television industry, (and most unfortunately) a pornography industry: and all of these have unique ways of communicating to bright young women: you are not beautiful, sexy, smart or valuable enough.

You must have the clarity and common sense to know that none of that is true. None of it.

You were created for a purpose, exactly so. You have innate value. You are loved more than you could ever comprehend; it is mind-boggling how much you are adored. There has never been, and there will never be another you. Therefore, you have unique thoughts to offer the world. They are only yours, and we all lose out if you are too fearful to share them.

You are beautiful. You are valuable. You are enough.

10. Feel free to add yours.

RomanceHealthy Baby Boy Born Using Sperm Extracted From Dead Man(photo) by umunaija(op): 10:27am On Apr 17, 2015
For the first time in Australia, a healthy baby boy was born using sperm that was extracted from a dead man, doctors said.

Against all odds, the baby was born using sperm taken from his father who died two days earlier.

The woman of South Australia, asked the Supreme Court to be allowed to collect the sperm of her husband after he die in a motorcycle accident.

As the court process took two days, no sperm was collected for 48 hours, prompting doctors question whether the sperm was still viable.

Doctors said that they did not think it was possible to use sperm that was collected so long after death, but it turned out not to be the case.

The mother, who cannot be named for legal reasons, had always wanted a family and was faced with an ethical dilemma when her husband died suddenly.

She took her case to the Supreme Court of Adelaide, where her application was approved two days later. Currently in South Australia, sperm can only be used after death if taken before the man dies.

The Adelaide court allowed the woman to take the sperm because she was able to show that she and her husband had planned to start a family.

The woman had to travel along with the body of her dead husband to a different state. The ACT is the only state that allows sperm taken from a man who died without written consent.

New South Wales and Victoria does not prohibit the use of the sperm taken out in another state. Doctors were concerned that the DNA from the sperm collected after death might be damaged.

The doctors were happy to learn that the woman became pregnant on the first try.

HealthFather Dresses As Horse And Offers Rides On His Back To Fund Son’s Leukemia Trea by umunaija(op): 10:20am On Apr 17, 2015
A father is making headlines after he found an unusual way make money to pay for his son’s cancer treatment.

The father of Hefei, China, began begging on the streets to raise money for leukemia treatment by wearing a horse mask and offering a ride on his back.

The man charges about $1 per ride. The father said that his son was diagnosed with leukemia in 2011. He needed to spend 200,000 ($32,000) for chemotherapy treatment.

He still has outstanding debt of 160,000 yuan ($26,000). When the child’s illness returned last month, his father turned to the streets to collect money to pay for the treatment and medication.

The 38-year-old father was seen kneeling on the ground next to a sign. The sign includes a photo of his sick child, a brief account of his plight and a plea to passersby to support his cause.

The man said that good-hearted people sometimes give him generous donations without riding on him.

The father admits that begging for money and publicly asking for compassion has been humiliating. However, he said that he needs to do whatever it takes to help his son get the treatments.

CrimeThief Sues Victim After Getting Hurt On Their Property(photo) by umunaija(op): 10:14am On Apr 17, 2015
A teenager and his family sued after he broke into a school and got injured inside.

The family of Thomas Buckett, sued the county council in Staffordshire, England, after their son got injured on their property.

Buckett broke into the food shop at the college with a group of friends before he jumped onto a glass skylight on the roof of the school. He was hurt when he landed inside the college.

Buckett was left with serious head injuries after falling through the roof at the Clayton Hall Business and Language College in Newcastle-under-Lyme.

Buckett plunged 15 feet onto a concrete floor after friends dared him to jump onto a glass skylight at the college.

His family sued the County Council, saying that they needed to do more to protect their property. The family initially said that their son climbed on top of the roof to get a football.

However, the court heard that a police investigation determined that the teen broke into the college.

Lawyers for the Buckett family argued that the council had ignored a long-term problem of people trespassing at this site during weekends and holidays.

The judge found that the college did their best to protect their property, and that Buckett was illegally trespassing on the property when he was injured.

The family lawsuit was denied and they were ordered to pay the defendant’s legal fees of approximately 250,000 pounds ($370,000).

A Staffordshire Police spokesperson said that two other teenagers who broke into the college, were cautioned for burglary and criminal damage, but no other charges were brought.

Petsdog Carries Baby Home From Local Dump And Becomes A Hero! by umunaija(op):
Animals never cease to amaze me in some cases they show more humanity than humans do. In Thailand a dog named Pui found a plastic bag at the dump.

Pui knowing there was a baby in it that needed help, carried the bag all the way home to his owner, saving the baby’s life. Dogs have a sense of smell that can be millions of times more sensitive than humans, so have no doubt this dog knew it was a human it was helping.

The premature baby is doing fine, and people were immediately asking to adopt her. This heroic dog has received a leather collar, and medal from The Red Cross. He truly deserves to be spoiled for the rest of his life.

HealthCancer Patient Roasts Himself Over Hot Coals To Cure Leukaemia(photo) by umunaija(op): 9:30am On Apr 14, 2015
A desperate leukaemia patient has resorted to roasting himself over hot coals every day in the hope it will kill off cancer cells.

Jia Binhui, 25, cannot afford hospital treatment and hopes his alternative treatment will fight the deadly disease.

He claims experts advised him that temperatures higher than 42 degrees Celsius can kill the cancerous cells in his body.

He built a human barbecue in his garden in Yunlong County in southwest China’s Yunnan Province, which he lies on above a fire below, like a spit roast.

Jia, who was diagnosed with blood cancer in 2013, has had a bone marrow transplant, costing £55,000, which was funded by well-wishers.

Coming from a family of poor farm workers, further hospital treatments have used up his remaining funds.

Jia wrote on his Weibo account: ‘They say experts believe a temperature higher than 42 degrees Celsius can kill cancer cells, so I set up a contraption in my backyard to try.

‘Let’s see if it works.’

Last month, Jia married his long-term girlfriend Liu Yuan and said he refuses to be defeated by the disease.

The fire is made using sawdust, twigs and branches which he then lights and leaves to burn for several minutes for it to get hot enough.

He then lies on top of the wooden poles for as long as he can physically take the roasting temperature.

‘I’ve been told that it also works in water. But it’s nearly impossible to keep water constantly at 42 degrees Celsius, so I’m using this method instead’ he said.

Jai added that he will continue using this unorthodox treatment before returning to the hospital to see if his condition has improved.

RomanceWoman Sacked After Texting Boss This Rude Message ‘by Mistake’ by umunaija(op): 10:42pm On Apr 12, 2015
An office bookkeeper has been sacked after accidentally sending a text calling her boss a “complete di*k.”

Louise Nesbitt was dismissed from her role following the incident.

She claimed she sent the text to her boss by accident – rather than to he intended recipient, her daughter’s boyfriend.

The full text described her boss ‘Rob’ as a “complete di*k,” adding: “we know this already so please try your best not to tell him that regardless of how you feel the need.”

Immediately after realising the mistake, Ms Nesbitt sent a follow up text to her boss apologising and asking him to delete the message.

She wrote: “Rob, please delete without reading. I am so so so sorry. Bleep.”

The Sydney Morning Herald reports that Ms Nesbitt intended to send the text in January to her daughter’s boyfriend.

He had been contracted to carry out plumbing work at the office where she worked.

In a third text, she said the message was down to her sense of humour.

Louise added: “That message came across so wrong. Rob … that is not how I feel. My sense of humour is to exaggerate.

“It is so far out of context … please forget it and just go on as normal.”

She has now failed to convince a tribunal that the message was a light-hearted insult.

Ms Nesbitt, who had worked at a mineral exploration company in Perth for six years, lost a claim for unfair dismissal before Australia’s industrial tribunal.

The tribunal ruled that the text was deeply offensive and was ‘far from a light-hearted insult’.

Sports(funny)…porn Blamed For Club’s Champions League Exit by umunaija(op): 8:00pm On Apr 11, 2015
The players were said to be up the previous night watching porn which contributed to their lacklustre outing on Sunday

Asante Kotoko‘s exit from the CAF Champions League over the weekend was as a result of porn according to Kofi Manu, a top football official in Ghana.

The Ghana Premier League Champions were eliminated from the CAF Champions League on Sunday, April 5 after losing 1-2 to Algerian club MC Eulma at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Asante Kotoko had a big chance of qualifying after playing a goalless draw away in Algeria but lost at home to exit the competition.

The club players felt the wrath of fans after the defeat was carried out of the stadium in armoured cars.

Status Committee member and former Chairman of Aduana Stars Kofi Manu popularly known as Blue Boy revealed that Asente Kotoko players were up the previous night watching porn which was why they lost the CAF Champions League game.

“They don’t sleep and I’ll continue to say this … they don’t sleep, they don’t have enough sleep” Blue Boy told Kumasi-based Sikka FM.

“The fact that the players lie on their beds did not mean they slept. The players spend their nights making phone calls, surfing the internet and watching porn.”
