Being religious is not synonymous to being moral, morality is about "actions" not about beliefs.

It's a human institute birthed by societal expectations and should be fueled by Love, compassion, pity, sympathy, family, concern for others other than selfish religious reasons.

Religions idea of morality is basically a form of coercion, employment of a threat and reward system, if you are good because you want to make heaven, it's not goodness in essence since your intent is for the reward and not because you care - that is selfishness.

If you are good because you fear and want to avoid hell, still not goodness since the reason why you are doing it is because you just want to save your own skin and avoid punishment - that is selfishness not goodness.

be good for goodness sake, it makes the world less an assshole.

it is hardly goodness if human ethics are roped around such greedy coercive religious concepts - though i agree some humans needs to be on a leash to be ethical.

But if we humans cannot find reasons to be good to others [like Love, compassion, concern] but need to be coerced and threatened by hell and heaven into being good then humanity is a sorry lot indeed.

Morality is neither muslim, Christian or Hindu, Morality is human. it belongs to no ism and neither is it dependent on any book, creed or supernatural for foundation, it has a human foundation.

I'm sorry i don't get the angle you're coming from...

There was a time you bring up different analogies trying to explain the concept of morality from societal perspective as a against what religion uphold. Similarly were things you wrote up there. My point is, do you mean because of the name 'christian', anyone identify by that name can never be good for goodness sake but rather selfish for the reward of heaven or fear of hell?
