Overcome dampness as a nation ke? People are building without DPC - German floor and foundations as low as a snake's belly and you are here hoping that we have overcome it. Damp treatment in Nigeria is the fastest growing business in house construction today. People are prepared to spend as little as they can on their foundation without realising or gloss over the fact that foundation is the most structurally critical section of a building. Get it wrong from start, big big trouble in the near future.

It sickens me and gets me tired a lot.

Many beautiful houses but with bad foundations.

I hope upcoming house owners get it right.

The first picture is showing the soil pipes being embedded inside it before casting of the German floor, to me, it's the best way to go about it.

The second picture is showing how to properly lay DPM, it should be laid on every part of the foundation, DPM material varies too, I used very thick polythene here, Bituminous felt, asphalt, and other materials can be used.

The second picture is just a another way to double proof it, like a 2 factor authentication,.if you look closely, you will see a thick black waterproof leather under the wall.

I always like to comment under DPC topic because in this dispensation, dampness in a building shouldn't be our issue again, we ought to have totally overcome it as a nation.
