sultan003: Been working out for 2years now, its now my addiction, more like a stress reliever.I beg to differ. Sticking to your diet should be easier to attain abroad. All the things that make it impossible for us in Nigeria to keep up, you are fortunate not to experience. E.g. Lack of constant power to preserve meals or quickly microwave them; unpredictable traffic and other unforeseen circumstances that would make sticking to your meal plan almost impossible; lack of variety of food which you on the other hand can easily do a quick stop at your local store and get and at very reasonable prices I must add.... You know how much them dey sell broccoli and asparagus for here so?? Oboy you don't know what you are enjoying! |
Nice thread. Good to see such a thread that covers a hobby of mine. I have been working out for 4 years now and it has been a fruitful experience so far. I have become so accustomed to working out that days that I do not go to the gym, I feel like I have missed out on something big. I enjoy the whole idea of being fit and looking good (it's a chic magnet..lol) The key and most important rule is motivation and dedication. How bad do you want it?? U gotta want to go to the gym even if u are tired or not up for it. It just has to become a habit, as necessary as having to eat to stay alive. If there is no gym available, or u in transit or something, u still have to do whatever little workout u can wherever u may be. It is not a chore or a necessity. It becomes a lifestyle. I train 5 days a week: Mon, Tue, Thurs, Fri and Saturday. The days inbtw are for rest. I also strongly suggest u pick up some sport such as football and play at least once a week. Cardio doesn't get better than that. You sprint fast, stop suddenly, jump, slide, etc and all that while u are trying to control, seize or stop ur opponent from getting a ball. I used to just pump iron and forgo the cardio until i realized that I was only getting bigger and stronger but totally lacking in stamina. Being aesthetically cut and having stamina - that's fitness. The cardio also helped me burn that stubborn stomach fat allowing my abs to start popping out which thousands of stomach crunches and leg raises didn't let appear. Those crunches will make u stronger in ur abdominal region and all but u gotta do cardio to burn off the overlaying fat. Join a good gym that has a good abs/cardio class cos despite all the years i have been doing this, I still require an instructor to push me go beyond my limits when it comes to abs exercises. I wouldn't wanna look like a puss so I keep going even if the pain is intense. U just have to find a way to accept it. Diet is key. Abs are made in the Kitchen: 70% kitchen,30% gym. I thankfully do not drink too. No beer, soft drinks, etc. Lots of water. At least 2 ltrs a day. No chocolates, or ice creams, muffins, starchy foods or anything like that. Not that I do not take these things, but it is very very rarely and far btw (most times when i do not have a choice ). I eat alot of vegetables with my brown rice ( if i must eat rice that is. Especially if I feel i need carbs for energy). Vegetables are cucumbers, cabbage, tomato, lettuce and carrot all cut up as salad with absolutely no cream for taste I must add. Took a while to get used to the bland taste but i do not even notice it anymore. Oat meal first thing in the morning for your fibers (good for digestion) and healthy carbs to last u through the day. I. usually take it with 2-3 bananas and with almond nuts sometimes. Get rid of all those processed snacks and sweets in the house and replace them with cashew, almond nuts, etc. Bread unbeknownst to great-a-many, is probably the worst culprit of belly fat. I have forever stopped taking it,even the wheat bread cos i just don't trust that it is completely wheat bread served here in naija. Small several meals a day. Do not feast. Only makes u lethargic and won't aid digestion. This is probably very difficult to attain but since I work quite close to my house, i always try to pop by to have some chicken with others every once in a while. The target is 6-7 meals a day. I try to eat at least 3 times a day( small meals). The time to actually follow through with this is even more difficult to maintain than the dent it causes in your pocket. Sleep. Sleep well. at least 7-8 hours a day. Program Follow a program. e.g Mons: chest and triceps. Tues: thighs and calves and abs. Thurs : Back and biceps. Fridays: traps and shoulders and abs Sats: legs again ( was born with skinny legs so work extra hard on this) and any other lagging body part,Etc... Supplements. I wouldn't advice u start with any just yet but as you get better and knowlegeable, you will definitely need supplements to jack your body up to the next level. Don't listen to all those celebrities and stars that say they just eat healthy and exercise and yet have incredible bodies. In this industry, 90% of people ars not entirely honest about all they take to.achieve their goals. I can tell u that I took creatine and protein shakes to get here. If you however wanna be like Dwayne Johnson (compare his size in Scorpion King to Fast Five), steroids is the only way. Do that at risk to your long term health!!!!! I also advice that you regularly check out great sites such as bodybuilding.com and simplyshredded.com for advice, tips, articles, videos, updates etc. No one knows.it all and there is always something new to learn. Note that while researching, you will come.across conflicting advice which may confuse you e.g the number of reps for each exercise, the weight to use, the right meal plan, what supplements.are best, what time of the day is best to work out, etc, you should just go with what you feel suits u and try it out for a while to see if it works. DDRPS: Dedication & consistency Diet Rest Program Supplements |
Perhaps I am wrong but I noticed that all members of our special ops teams carry the same weapon. Shouldn't there be someone carrying the heavy guns such as the FN Minimi or something? |

Henry120: You know the name of the rifle members of the presidential guards brigade use? I think it's still made by FN, but it is shorter, pretty much the same size or a few centimetres shorter than the AK-47. I can recall it's name, however I know the guys at the presidential guards brigade use them, seen most times during ceremonial events (change of guards etc etc)Other old school rifles manufactured by FN other than FAL would be the FNC. If it's a new generation rifle, that would the F2000 and SCAR |
Henry120: This photo so beautiful, I'm posting it twiceReally nice pics Henry. |

aluta2: This are pics from @delemomodu on his way out of the country two days agoGod bless you Aluta2. Please let these deluded, bigoted apologists and sycophants that lurk around aplenty on Nairaland be educated. No the buckets and bowls are not collecting water. They are as a matter of fact part of the items needed while the airport is being renovated..... Clowns!! |
Thats even a picture of a different airport. What he posted was MMIA2 (Local airport) not MMIA. He has taken the picture he posted down by the way, after realizing his folly.. bendike: Bro, are you seriously suggesting that the person that took his time to show us picture of the leaking departure hall was just doing that to discredit the minister?. COMMON! Your picture comparison is also wrong because your pic shows the departure hall while the fellows picture show the boarding gate hall of the airport. |
olabukola: This is how the floor of the renovated mmia looks like. But from the op's picture it seems the floor is terrazzo. That is a picture of MMIA2 (The local airport) Anyone that has been to the airport can clearly see that. Please do not misinform people. I'll post another picture on my return if I do happen to come across such a sight again. I will also hold up a copy of the present day's newspaper to show that this isn't some old picture. Besides, even if the airport is still undergoing renovation? It is permissible or acceptable to have bowls on the floor collecting water? |
Mod please ban this taharqa individual. https://www.nairaland.com/1483912/renovated-mmia-roof-already-leaking/2 Can't engage in a meaningful discussion or constructive criticism but rather launches personal attacks on others.. |
passion007: @OP:Thank you for the suggestion. I would have done so only that there was no suggestion box anywhere that I could see. If the management fails to see, let other Nigerians see it. Perhaps the furore it generates will eventually catch their attention |
taharqa: YOU ARE A VERY BIG FOOOL.... So it didn't rain yesterday, and according to you those bowls may hv been used to collect water from d AC System (as smone else also suggested), yet you rushed to open a thread on a National forum saying that you witnessed a 'rain leaking roof' yterday as you were traveling to London; and sm of d Okpees who call themselves MODS on NL pushed d thread to d FP. If you weren't sure, why d helll did not bring such a grave accusation to a forum where there are lots of Non-Nigerians reading? If sm persons didn't demand for sm answers, wud you hv made the clarifications you just made? Why didn't you add these clarifications (DOUBTS) to your opening OP if you were not a DISHONEST person...... EWUDANWell I highly doubt you can call me a big fool to my face, you, hiding behind a computer spewing hate and nonsense while am sure you are foaming at the mouth like a rabid dog. And am sure you would be hard pressed to show me where I ever mentioned the word rain in my post since you are indeed the true and undeniable fool that you are |
Nigerians are indeed a funny lot. How in Heaven's name did this become an APC Vs. PDP issue? The simple and undeniable fact is that the roof/ceiling is leaking water. The pictures are there for all to see. Did I pick bowls up from the toilet or from the security scanner and place them on the floor to stage pictures of a leaking roof? Can the doubters please explain?? Why can't Nigerians just put sentiments aside and criticize and rebuke anything that is wrong no matter who is responsible? It didn't rain yesterday at Ikeja but there are bowls lying on the floor of our number 1 international airport collecting water from leaking ceilings!! It may be the ACs that are faulty, I do not know but those bowls are there and it is a national disgrace. Let's say it as it is!! What is all this nonsense talk about APC or how Stella must remain in office or how the renovated Akani Ibiam Airport Roof Is NOT Leaking?? My God! So the fact that Akani Ibiam Airport Roof Is NOT Leaking should be celebrated?? Have we sunk so low in our standards or are we so bereft of any standards at all that we actually post something such as the roof of an airport not leaking as something that is newsworthy and that must be celebrated?? Nigeria is truly finished! |

rka1: This is hilariousMakes you wonder what happened to the guy holding the camera cos he apparently didn't flinch. |
But I have already addressed the issue: "While not discounting that atrocities have been committed by forces loyal to the Assad government, it is a well known fact that far worse have been committed by these Jihadists. The internet is awash with several videos and reports of the atrocities they have committed." "Once again, while I do not discount the fact that Assad would also have his propaganda machine in play, BUT we all know who has been the more desperate and resourceful party with regards to propaganda. That was me gentlemanly giving room for the possibility that those very incidences as that report has stated, were fabricated, manipulated or falsified by the Assad government. How else would you like me to address it? Evidence of rebels propaganda: I provided Syria Danny didn't I? Caught red-handed... Lol @ Assad fart. No need getting worked up please. You are beginning to sound like that all4naija guy.. No vex o! Sorry for ruining your thread! |
Finally since you have said a majority of these rebels are Syrians themselves, perhaps this will inform you:Here are articles that describes them and their supporters: Libyan fighters join "free Syrian army" forces Leading Libyan Islamist met Free Syrian Army opposition group Libya’s new rulers offer weapons to Syrian rebels Charles Lister of IHS Jane's Terrorism and Insurgency Center recently published a fantastic article detailing "specific nature and composition of the insurgency itself." According to Lister, nearly half of the rebel forces are jihadist or hardline Islamists. See the breakdown below: https://static2.businessinsider.com/image/523afee9eab8ea8b31647577-1200-825/syrian%20rebels%20breakdown_06.jpg Once again, while I do not discount the fact that Assad would also have his propaganda machine in play, BUT we all know who has been the more desperate and resourceful party with regards to propaganda. By the way, I DO NOT accept all information or theories that support or "prove my fantasies", I am on the other hand very open to opinions and viewpoints from all corners as long as they are backed with facts and solid evidence, not sentiments or hearsay. |
And since you have cherry picked sketchy and somewhat unverified reports accusing the rebels of atrocities, perhaps you can tell us if the reports below are propaganda as well cos am thinking that Assad must indeed have a lot of time on his hands: HUMAN RIGHTS WATCH: Syria: End Opposition Use of Torture, Executions http://www.hrw.org/news/2012/09/17/syria-end-opposition-use-torture-executions Executed as they waited on a pavement kerb: Terrifying assassination video of three men by 'Islamist rebels' shows new front in Syrian propaganda war Beheaded in front of children, Assad's thugs are dragged to their doom and butchered like animals in some of the most brutal scenes to emerge from Syria's civil war And how can we forget the heart eating lunatic Abu Sakkar: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-23190533 |
While not discounting that atrocities have been committed by forces loyal to the Assad government, it is a well known fact that far worse have been committed by these Jihadists. The internet is awash with several videos and reports of the atrocities they have committed. By the way, since you yourself has stated that the foreign media cannot verify most of these reports, how then were they able to arrive at the conclusion that these incidences are the handiwork of the Assad propaganda machine?? Where is their credibility?? Speaking of those that have however be caught red handed staging false attacks and reports, we have: Propaganda-Syria Danny Caught Lying https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3lWB5ssifTg |
There is a question I have for the originator of this post. So Assad has been able to influence what has been reported by the UN, Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International and so many other organizations? His propaganda machine is so effective that he has influenced what the reporters, investigative journalists and editors of several news media decide to publish and air? News media that is so widespread and diverse comprising the mainstream and alternative media that includes CNN, BBC, the new yorker, washington post, the guardian, reuters, the telegraph, wall street journal,, RT, dailymail, businessinsider, infowars, consortium news, landdestroyer , paulcraigroberts, storyleak, washingtonsblog, drudge report, tom dispatch, global reaserch, counter punch, and so many others? Assad has so much clout and reach that anything published by these news media that discredits, demonizes, exposes the atrocities of or reveals the true face of these invading foreign |
Haiti, still getting screwed centuries later: Haiti Still Suffering From U.N. Cholera Coverup https://cdn.storyleak.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/kids-300x295.jpg Hundreds of thousands of Haitians are still suffering after being infected with cholera following the United Nations arrival back in 2010, a fact the U.N. has actively denied in a country that had never before seen the disease. Now, human rights lawyers have filed suit against the U.N., demanding compensation for the Haitian victims. kidsCholera, a disease primarily transmitted by drinking water or food contaminated with feces, produces an infection of the small intestine caused by the bacterium Vibrio cholerae, often leading to severe dehydration, diarrhea, vomiting and even death. After arriving to assist with relief efforts following the 7.0 earthquake earthquake in Jan. 2010, U.N. peacekeepers reportedly infected over 669,000 Haitians with the disease, resulting in more than 8,200 deaths as of August 4. Unsurprisingly, Haiti revealed that the U.N. fought any investigation from the beginning of the incident, denying any role in the matter and refusing to provide compensation to families and people effected. As a last resort, Haiti’s Institute for Justice and Democracy has filed suit in U.S. District Court against the U.N, demanding $100,000 to families who have lost a loved one and a minimum of $50,000 to those infected with the disease. Under Section 29 of the U.N. Convention on the Privileges and Immunities, the U.N. has declared itself immune from prosecution. The suit alleges that the U.N. lied about testing their peacekeepers for cholera and the quality of septic tanks used by them. Haitian’s who originally noticed the damaged sewage pipe were told it was only transferring kitchen waste before being banned from the camp. A 2011 study was able to examine the cholera bacterium, allowing researchers to trace the bacterium to a specific Nepalese bacteria cluster. Haitian officials believe drinking water was accidentally contaminated by infected Nepalese U.N. peacekeepers, whose sewage runoff flowed into the Artibonite River, a fresh water source used by thousands. In less than 3 months the disease spread throughout the entire country, now being detected as far away as Venezuela, Cuba, the United States and the Dominican Republic. “In 2010, the U.N. didn’t want anyone to talk about this. They were directly castigating anyone who would bring up the topic,” AP Reporter Jonathan Katz told CNN. Even after years of pressure from experts across the board, the U.N has continued to deny responsibility for the Nepalese peacekeepers. “The Independent Panel concludes that the Haiti cholera outbreak was caused by the confluence of circumstances … and was not the fault of, or deliberate action of, a group or individual. The source of cholera in Haiti is no longer relevant to controlling the outbreak. What are needed at this time are measures to prevent the disease from becoming endemic,” the U.N. Report reads. Rubbish. Absolute rubbish.....I am not even going to bother to discount or discredit this ludicrous article cos what is happening is clear for anyone with half a brain to see |
And yet the Military Industrial Complex forges ahead with empire building.... They have been taken aback by the horrendous number of soldiers that have committed suicide and are now investing in other means to keep the war machine going |
