drTOO: Firstly, are you a male or female?
Secondly, u can't have heavy growth of staph aureus in your blood and be on nairaland. You will be so sick that you will most likely be on admission recieving drips and IV medications. Forget all this yeye labs that will be saying everybody has staph.
The truth is, staph aureus is part of our normal flora (ie they are on our skin) and almost everywhere in our environment. This is not about being hygienic or not, its a normal thing.
The problem is this, to take samples (blood, wound swab, discharges) for test, the lab scientist must exercise extreme caution to prevent the sole from being contaminated by these ubiquitous organism--Staph. Unfortunately, this is not often the case. If the sample had been taken properly, I can assure you it would have yielded no growth. You can't have heavy growth staph aureus and not have high-grade fever. In short, you won't have the strength to be typing this epistle on nairaland.
From the history you gave, it looks more like a psychological issue and not an infection. Cos if I'm to probe further, you will also have insomnia (inability to sleep) Maybe you should consider seeing a psychiatrist or clinical psychologist.
That's my piece of advice. All the best. You're very right about having insomnia, I don't really sleep well BTW I'm a male |

dochenaj: Oh! I mean hard drugs like heroin that is injected into the blood, I don't mean therapeutic drugs that was administered via the IV route.
Anyway, I'm 100% certain that test is wrong, there must have been a mixup or very likely a contamination in the lab. But Nigeria is messed up, else when the lab people signed off that result, they should have seen how ridiculous it sounded for you to have a heavy Staphylococcus infection in your blood and asked for a new sample to redo the test.
I'll recommend you go to a hospital and tell the doctors your complaints, don't mention anything about staphylococcus and let them figure out, what is wrong with you.
And finally, this thread is at the 10th page, and I cannot imagine the overwhelming number of advice, concoctions, and drugs you have been asked to get. Don't listen to any of that, go see a doctor and task him to find out what is wrong with you and let him explain it to you. It is your right as a patient to take his time while he takes your money. You're very right bro... So many advice and prescription but I think it will try herbs and also go to another doctor |

dochenaj: The test you did must be wrong. You cannot have a blood culture with a heavy yield Staphylococcus Aureus and you're walking about okay. You should be dead already.
And I wonder how Staph would even get into your blood, do you do IV drugs? I only did it when I wanted to flesh malaria |

Pee01: Yes, we have blood culture test....but my query was the heavy growth....because that should have been a case of septicaemia... which u should have been in a critical state...but I would have accepted if the result indicated light growth of staph not even moderate growth... normally the blood should be sterile without any form of bacteria in it... for the second question... we have order body fluids which culture can be done not necessarily de once u mentioned.. depending on the bacteria of medical importance.... I'm not really in a critical condition because I can still go to work and do walk around normally, so I doubt the heavy growth of Staphylococcus too |

adanny01: My suggestion is that, use the internet and compare the drugs on your result, specifically the ones with highest sensitivity. Compare them in specific use of treatment the get a proper prescription of the chosen drug in intravenous form. Timely follow the prescription without missing or delaying. Test at the same lab a day after the last IV dose.
What ever you chose, use the IV. I suggest you take a week off work. Most of these antibiotics work best intravenously. Alright I will take that into consideration bro |

xest: my brother staph is very stubborn, you can't treat like that and it goes, it takes time. From the test u did, they supposed to determine the drugs that is not resistant in your body and use it to treat u. It takes about 14-21days to treat with injection and u did only 5 days, it will reappear with stronger force. So I advise u go back to the treatment again, take your time and treat it. Afterwards do a routine test to knw if there is any remnants left. Be strong u will b healed. I will do as you've advised bro |

He was just going to mushroom hospitals with possibility of being attended to by quacks. He needs to go to the right hospital and forget about all the trash he is saying about public doctors. Copy unhealthy. Public hospital laboratory will not only do test for you but also carry out sensitivity tests with different antibiotics to know which one to recommend for you. I have been to state hospital but I don't like the way they attend to patients in a hurry |

Health › Staphylococcus Aureus Is Ruining My Life! Nairaland Please Help! by Unhealthy(op): 9:40am On Feb 05, 2019 |
I had to open this new moniker so that I can share my problems without any shame
I developed the staphylococcus infection last year through toilet I life has been so terrible for me.
I have been battling with constant headache, fatigue and shortness of breath, and a worm like movement in my body for a long time. Sometimes I feel numbness on the part of my body and it's really affecting me. My boss has been complaining about my incompetence at work and it's possible I lose my job if things continue this way
I've gone to several hospitals and spend a lot of money to conduct series of test after which blood culture revealed I have a heavy growth of Staphylococcus Aureus.
I took the result to a doctor and he prescribed Pefloaxin for me and I also took five injection to flush this bacteria and it seemed like I was getting out of the bond of this bacteria until the symptoms returned back few weeks later.
I decided to resort to Nairaland because most of the doctors I've gone to are incompetent, and I don't want to take too much antibiotics so that my body will not become resistant to it.. The way this staph is affecting me is becoming unbearable. I can't sleep or breath well
Someone suggested I go to general hospital since they seem to be more experienced but all na the same. They are always too much in a hurry to attend to patients and prescribe drugs.
Please if you have treated this stubborn infection before, how did you manage to cure it completely? Did you use drugs or herbs?
I know many carriers of this bacteria normally get scammed by online advertisers and I know they will flood this thread with their fake herbal drugs. Please I need you to come to my aid and don't look for a way to swindle money from me with ineffective drugs
Here is the result of my test.
Please help me move this to the FP for a wider audience
