NOTICE TO ALL UNIBEN STUDENTS AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC.

➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖

This is to draw the attention of all UNIBEN students and indeed the general public on the need to boycott a planned solidarity march by the Student Union Government of the University of Benin (UNIBEN) in conjunction with the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) scheduled for Thursday 4th June 2020.

The need for this boycott call is not farfetched as it has been reliably gathered that plans have been concluded with an aggrieved faction of one of the groups planning the protest to hijack the solidarity March and foment trouble through an orchestrated attack. This faction of NANS are part of the delegation which came into Benin for the purpose of this march and they have been mobilised from other universities in the South South region by some powerful interests who provided them funds to procure some materials which they wish to use to cause mayhem during the seemingly peaceful march.

It is imperative to state here that all UNIBEN students who are making plans to attend the march may end up becoming collateral damage once the violence by these urchins of chaos begins and so in order to save possible loss of lives and bodily harm, you are advised to stay home and boycott this solidarity March.

The UNIBEN Chapter of the SUG may have good intentions, but the door they kept opened to other groups like NANS, NISAYA, NAUS and other groups with conflicting interests will only make their planned march an embryonic disaster waiting to happen.

We all want justice for the late Uwaila, but some agents of discord want monetary gains from fighting the course of the dead. Don't be a victim. We have receipts of some conversations and confirmation of monies that exchanged hands. This can only be released in due time, however.

Signed:

CONCERNED UNIBEN STAKEHOLDERS
