like javarules said , there's no powerful programming language , why do we like wasting our time debating on something not worth debating upon. From my own view, i'll never say one language is better than the other, but instead of us especially Nigerians, defending one programming language, let's discuss on how we(Nigerian programmers) will be relevant on the world scene. I don't care if u use QBasic to design your own program, but how will our knowledge as programmers affect our society and boost our image on the world scene. Let's think about this.

who says Java has failed? it's so sad to hear that. may be a tour to the world of JavaFX, JSF, J2ME and lately LWUIT will do. Java still remain and will ever be the universal language which every programmer must embrace.
