Career / These Are The Troubles You’re Likely To Face When Looking For A Job by UnivworgersPero(m): 12:06pm On Nov 23, 2017
With the country slowly getting out of recession, unemployment is still a burgeoning issue affecting all strata of society. Gaps in employment history is a common factor limiting a lot of people at the moment and it will most likely come up whenever you submit job applications.
Asides from the sometimes glaring nepotism during recruitment, employers sometimes avoid hiring job seekers who have been out of work for a while alongside some other salient factors.
Here are likely problems you’re likely to face looking for a job at the moment.
High Number Of Prospective Candidates
At the moment, there are too many job seekers jostling for little available jobs. More so, a lot of applicants assume they are the best fit for openings they apply for, whereas they are one of a hundred other applicants for the same job.
A lot of the other candidates will likely be as qualified as you are and your Curriculum Vitae or online applications would most likely be chosen after being sorted for key words that are related to education, skills and accomplishments.
You may have your application rejected for reasons unrelated to the “job gaps” on your resume that may be an unknown factor given that automated searches may have ruled out your application.
Poor Resume Quality
The quality of your resume can go a long way in determining if your application gets accepted or not. The job of most recruiters is to quickly sort through large volumes of resumes and research has shown that as much as 90 percent of resumes end up in the thrash bin because the experiences on them don’t match the job and because of a poor quality resume.
A lot of resumes contain tiny margins, small font size, irrelevant information and boring descriptions of work experiences. Correct these problems and you may find yourself getting that desired job.
The Interview
A Gap in your job experience may cause you to lose out on a job but sometimes it may not be due to that only but more about how you explain that gap during the interview. When asked why...CONTINUE READING HERE http://www.univworgers.com/2017/11/these-are-troubles-youre-likely-to-face.html?m=1

Politics / Ibori Reacts To Ekwueme’s Death – The Nation That Betrayed Hims by UnivworgersPero(m): 1:32pm On Nov 21, 2017
The former Governor of Delta state, James Ibori, has reacted to the death of a former Vice-President, Dr. Alex Ifeanyichukwu Ekwueme, saying that he is being mourned by a nation which failed to allow him “rescue it from political and economic morass will.”
Ibori, in a statement through his Media Assistant, Tony Eluemunor, described the death as most shocking.
He said: “Although His Excellency, Dr. Alex Ekwueme, GCON, was a great leader, a national father-figure, a stabilising factor in Nigerian politics, I, Chief James Onanefe Ibori, can never stop asking ‘what if’!
“It is ironic that the nation that betrayed this man’s effort to rescue it from political and economic morass will, now that he is dead, begin to shed crocodile tears.
“Even those who betrayed the very effort to make Ekwueme President, may begin to, hypocritically of course, bewail the fact that Ekwueme or the Igboman or woman, never ruled Nigeria.
“Ekwueme was an extraordinary polyvalent scholar, who earned multiple degrees in architecture, urban planning, sociology, history, philosophy and law from several universities.
“He was a gifted architect, whose professional legacies dot Nigerian cities. In politics, he was both gentlemanly and fatherly, introducing mildness even when others had embraced roughness and irascibility.
“If only we had allowed Ekwueme to rule Nigeria, what example would he have set? Now, we will never know…and Nigeria is the ultimate loser. Ekwueme lived a full life; gave a radiant account of himself. We all agree he was outstanding...Continue reading here http://www.univworgers.com/2017/11/ibori-reacts-to-ekwuemes-death-nation.html?m=1

Celebrities / 3 Reasons Why Davido Is A Better Nigerian Artiste Than Wizkid In 2017 by UnivworgersPero(m): 3:08pm On Nov 20, 2017
Davido started 2017 on a dramatic note and the year has so far been quite dramatic, bumpy and most of all awesome for him.
For starters, OBO suffered a major hangover early in the year due to a frustrating spell in 2016 with global music giants Sony. 2016 wasn’t exactly the year for David Adeleke as the singer failed to pick up any awards due to an alleged creative battle with Sony Music.
1.Going back to basics
Right back to ‘17, the DMW honcho had learnt his lessons the hard way. He had struggled to do music with foreign appeal, hence he decided he was going back to basics, sticking with the African sound. That also meant changing a few things that were in anyway slowing down his growth. Kamal Ajiboye, his manager for four years received the axe as Davido cut him loose from his team. As expected Davido stirred up another ruckus by sacking Kamal and reinstating Asa Asika his first manager.
Getting back to the drawing board was inevitable because his career would have hit stalemate if something drastic was not done ASAP. He needed a lift.
2. Finding & Riding On The Pon Pon Sound
Going back to basics was just the magic Davido needed to rule the airwaves again. Here is how the journey to a super dope year began for the former BET award winner. The singer hooked up with buzzing colleague and music producer Tekno who produced arguably the biggest song in Africa, ‘IF’.
Since its release ‘IF’ has gone viral even across the boundaries of Africa. Several American stars have caught the bug from the infectious tune from Davido .
Omarion was caught on cam vibing to the song. R&B great R.Kelly couldn’t help but do a remix to it, plus hundreds of covers to the song have been done within Nigeria. And the fame goes on.
‘IF’ was a monster hit but Davido wasn’t going to slow down or wait too long to release some fresh music. Then ‘Fall’ happened. Going back to basics and employing the ‘pon pon’ music seems like a master stroke. Without long ‘Fall’ was everywhere. You know a song is without a doubt a monster hit when children from the streets chant to the lyrics of the song. The use of ‘ Banana’ as euphemism became much stronger and widespread, jokes were spun around the subject. ‘ Money fall on you, banana fall on you ’ slogan began to rule the streets just when ‘30 billion for the akant’ was becoming too familiar and cliche. Boooom! This simply meant Davido had succeeded in delivering back to back smash hits within four months. What made these songs resonate well with Nigerians

Romance / All The Things Women Notice The Moment You Walk Up To Them by UnivworgersPero(m): 3:05pm On Nov 19, 2017
Women have been proven to be much more perceptive than men and will notice even the most subtle things than men would usually not acknowledge.
From the moment you take the bold decision as a man to walk up to a lady, she’s most probably sizing you up already and making a mental calculation of whether all she sees is enough for her to smile and give you her number for you to reach out to her later on.
There are a number of critical things she needs to get off her checklist, and here are a number that ranks top on the scale of preferences of most women.
Your Manner Of Greeting
The way and manner you greet her when you walk up to her goes a long way in determining if you move on to the next level. Whether you’re giving a handshake or hugging, it is important that you have the highest level of confidence when executing your greeting.
What we mean by this is that you should accompany your greeting with a genuine smile, warm and jovial personality. If you’re giving her a handshake, be sure not to make it too firm.
Your Manners
And by this, we don’t mean you holding the door open for her to pass or pulling out seats for her at a restaurant. What she’s looking out for is the way you treat the people around you.
She wants to know if you’d be able to maintain eye contact with her when you talk, if you stay away from your phone when you’re with her and the way you talk to people waiting on you. Basic courtesy is what she wants, nothing corny.
The Class And Style Of Your Shoes
We said it earlier that when it comes to perception, women are steps ahead of men and this especially comes through when it comes to recognising subtle things such as your shoes. No matter your occupation, be sure to wear clean shoes at all times and you’d be glad you did.
Dress shoes will especially score you more points with women, but monkstraps, boots, flip flops and an array of others can still do the Magic when worn appropriately for the right occasions. Wearing a good pair of shoes matched with a nice outfit can give her the impression that you’re a man of style that pays attention to details.
Your Choice Of Timepiece
The type of wristwatch you wear can help to give her an insight into your sense of style and if it matches with hers. While she doesn’t necessarily want to see a very expensive timepiece, neither does she want to see a cheap rubber digital watch you’ve picked up from road side sellers.

Romance / 6 Things Being Heart Broken Will Teach You by UnivworgersPero(m): 12:47pm On Nov 18, 2017
Demons were once angels, the same goes with Yoruba demons. They were once angels with hearts of gold and a female scum destroyed their emotions thus turning them into the heartbreaking demon you’ve all come to know and love. Being jilted or heartbroken by the one we thought we loved teaches us valuable lessons, lessons like……
1. TIME ACTUALLY HEALS ALLS WOUNDS: After a breakup, doing things that temporarily take your mind off of having your heart broken works in spurts, but the sadness will continue to return until you’re completely over the situation. Everyone gets over heartbreak at a different pace, but truly reaching that point will take some time no matter who you are.
2. BEING ALONE ISN’T A BAD THING: Being alone isn’t the end of the world. In fact, once you get over the feelings of loneliness, it presents the best opportunity to get to know yourself on a deeper level.
3. REFRAIN FROM BEING BITTER, IT DOESN’T HELP: In the end, harbouring feelings of anger and bitterness only hold you back from moving forward. Even worse, it could negatively influence your future relationships. The sooner you let go of those feelings, the sooner the growth and recovery process begins for you.
4. TRUST ME, YOU’D FIND LOVE AGAIN: You may have thought that person was your soulmate, but if the relationship has ended, take it at face value. It just wasn’t meant to be. No matter how much you loved that person, you’ll eventually fall in love again as long as you open yourself up to the possibility. Who knows? Your new love may just be the one.
5. IT WOULD MAKE YOU STRONGER… EVENTUALLY: Enduring struggles proves to you just how emotionally tough you are. Build yourself back up once and you’ll have the confidence to make it through any breakup.
