Politics / Impunity: Two Journalists With National WAVES Magazine Detained For Two Months by Uno48: 3:12am On Feb 10, 2015
Human rights lawyer, Barrister Festus Keyamo has petitioned the Inspector General of Police. Mr. Suleman Abba over the continued detention of Emmanuel Fateman, an Assistant Editor and Joseph Jolayemi, a graphic artist with National Waves Magazine. In a letter dated December 18, 2014 and signed on behalf of Festus Keyamo Chambers by Festus Ukpe, Esq and Benedicta Obanye, it informed the IG about what culminated to the detention of the duo since December 16. 2014.

“Sometime in August 2014, Jimmy Enyeh, the publisher of National Waves Magazine as part of his journalistic duties uncovered alleged suspicious dealings regarding a contract of N650 million awarded to A.A Oil Company Limited and in pursuant to National Waves Magazine’s policy of fair and honest reportage sought for his side of the story through a letter dated 01/09/2014, titled “Request for reaction on collection N650million for unexecuted contract”

“Despite the foregoing letter, neither the Alhaji Aliyu Abubabar nor any representative of his company communicated their version of the story. The story was consequently published on 22nd September 2014. As soon as the story was published, the publisher started receiving strange threatening phone calls about the story to the effect that the apparatus of the state including the law enforcement agencies will be used to punish him for publishing such the story.

“In furtherance of their objective of arresting and detaining the publisher of National Waves Magazine, these police officers on the instruction of the complainant, Alhaji Aliyu Abubakar served a letter of invitation while Mr. Enyeh was out of town preparing for National Waves anniversary event, on getting aware of the invitation, he informed his lawyer and suggested a rescheduled meeting. The officer refused to heed that suggestion and promised to get him at all cost since he knew where he was.

“Based on this development, Enyeh instituted an action at of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory challenging the interference of the IGP Special Task Force on Terrorism and Heinous Crime in an issue perceived to be civil in nature. In a similar development, the complainant, Alhaji Aliyu Abubakar also filed a civil suit before the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory seeking various reliefs against National Waves Magazine and Jimmy Enyeh on alleged defamatory publications.

“The crux of this petition is that despite the foregoing facts and the pendency of the different suits before courts of competent jurisdiction, the IGP Special Task Force on December 16, 2014 arrested Emmanuel Fateman and Joseph Jolayemi, who are members of staff of National Waves Magazine and have since been in detention. All attempts to ensure that they are arraigned in court met brick walls.

Lagos West Senatorial District Electorates Rejects Hon. Adeola (YAYI)’s Ambition over Poor Performance at House of Reps
...................................................................................................................................

Alimosho Local Government Area has been for sometimes now been the deciding factor in election matters in Lagos State, with registered voters which is more than those registered to vote in a State like Bayelsa State. This informed the reason all political party will do all in their power to win the favour of the Alimosho’s electorate this is evidence by the way the 2011 general election was fought in the area between the current Chairman, House of Representatives, Committee on Public Account, Hon. Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly called “Yayi” and Mr. Segun Adewale also known as “Aeroland”.

The election was so tough that the vote was so close before Yayi was eventually declared the winner, a result that was contested by Aeroland before he decided to let the sleeping dog lie, while the winner was also working assiduously to justify the trust of the people in him by churning out series of programs to take care of the people until the ambition to govern Ogun State take control, and it was the new found desire that forced him into abandoning those who voted for him to represent them in Lagos for plan to contest to represent Ogun West Senatorial district, and it was this dream he was working tirelessly on before the forces that be in Ogun State were alleged to have ended it at gun point in Ilaro.

Politics / Subscribers Beware: Airtel Nigeria Begins Another Method Of Defrauding Nigerians by Uno48: 1:28pm On Dec 28, 2014
If there is any network in Nigeria whose Chief Executive Officer deserves to face the hangman, then Airtel Nigeria will be strolling down the gallows.
This network has not only become notorious for robbing Nigerians but also a nightmare to all who use it. Their fraudulent lifestyle investigations have revealed led to their losing over 750,000 customers who before now use their data bundle for internet services.

One of those who daily curse the criminal network is Mr. Charles Ojeniwah who purchased N1,000 units of the Airtel Recharge Card with: SERIAL NO: 11678803645454378498, PIN: 1248769423801858 and Card No: 4329 on Tuesday December 23rd, 2014 at

For many people, the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) is one of the security agencies that have stayed above board, without engaging themselves in any shady deal. But beyond this outward thought by Nigerians and the global village hides the stink that has been covered for years.

Aggrieved Lagos Council Chiefs Petition EFCC over Deduction of N1.4bn from Their Allocations to Fund Ambode’s Gov Campaign
..................................................................................................................................................

Some aggrieved local government chairmen in Lagos state have jointly written a petition to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC to come to their rescue and stop the deduction of N25 million from their allocation for the month of May through the state’s Joint Account and Allocation Committee, JAAC.

The Council chiefs in the petition due to be submitted to the EFCC in Abuja tomorrow Monday by their lawyer alleged that penultimate week, the Chairman of the 57 local government chairmen in the state, one Hon. Sulaimon Oriyomi popularly called ‘Oris’ who also doubles as the Chairman of Bariga local council called them to a meeting where he dropped the name of an APC national leader who allegedly instructed that they should contribute some funds from their May allocation to kick start the governorship campaign of Mr Akinwunmi Ambode said to have been endorsed to succeed Governor Babatunde Fashola by the party leader.

“The money that will be taken from our meagre allocation in this month alone is N25 million per local government and when this is multiplied by the number of councils in Lagos, this will come to over N1.4 billion. We are pleading that you use your good office to stop this brazen diversion of public funds”, the aggrieved Council chiefs pleaded in their petition addressed to the Executive Chairman of the EFCC.
