Because of the vastness of the universe, there are already some points that are so far out of our reach that everything across them are regarded as lost forever.

In the best effort, we'll never be able to reach them because relative to us now, they are traveling almost at the speed of light.

This is why I say we'll never know.

Secondly, the universe might be so unique that no two point can be exactly alike. In that case, earth is so unique that there's nothing like it out there.

Or it could be repetited and at every galactic interval, there's a planet exactly like earth with all of its goodness.

Or we could be living in the past of the universe and not in the present as we think. After all, most of the things we observed from outer space are things that have already happened millions of years ago and we are just seeing them. In fact, some of the galaxies we are seeing today have left that place millions of years ago, only their light are reaching us today. So we are just seeing their past. Now imagine aliens on those galaxies equally peeking at our galaxy.

They will be seeing our future and not our past. And would we exist in the future? The universe is a mind boggling place. We would never understand it
