Samsung, one of the biggest electronic consumer goods maker is set to unveil its next flagship mobile phone, the Galaxy S9, next month at the Mobile World Congress (MWC). DJ Koh, Samsung's  smartphone chief, confirmed this at CES yesterday. He didn't offer any specific date, but it is known that MWC will be on from February 26th to March 1st this year, so expect the unveiling to fall somewhere around that time.

CoolFM’s controversial On Air Personality,Daddy Freeze has reacted to Bloomberg‘s recent billionaires index that revealed Facebook founder, and Chief Executive Officer, CEO, Mark Zucckerberg to have already made $4 Billion in the New Year, 2018.

The report read: “Major market indices are up 2% year-to-date, continuing the major stock gains of last year. Among those profiting from the continued stock surge is Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg. The 33-year-old has earned $4.16 billion since 2018 began, with company shares climbing more than 5%”.

Reacting to the index, the OAP said Mark Zuckerberg does not pay tithe to any church but had in  ten days into 2018 already made $4billion.

After the CAF awards which was recently held last week Thursday, the 4th of January in Ghana, Ghanaian based Journalist, Gabby Asare Otchere took to his social media platform to  complain about the supposed poor performance of the CAF awards.

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested two brothers (Paul Jibunor and Nkoenye Jibunor) in connection with a rape case which was reported at the Ojodu Abiodun Police Division, Ogun State.

Parading the suspects, the Command Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said that the arrest came after Ijeoma, one of the rape victims made a formal report to the police stating how, when and where the ugly situation occurred

Narrating how the incident came up, the victim had it that she was picked up in a taxi by three men on December 29, 2017, from Agidingbi, Ikeja, Lagos, and taken to Iwo Street, Ojodu Abiodun, Ogun State on an agreed fare.

Ijeoma said that the men later dragged her down forcefully from the car and had a carnal knowledge of her amidst persistent pleas. They had also carted away her belongings after the rape.

Her ability to recognize the men at the Adebayo area of Ojodu and make a quick report was all she needed to bring the culprits to book. The police detectives were able to arrest two of three men while the last man in the gang had absconded.

The suspects so far arrested have confessed to the crime, and some valuables belonging to the victim were recovered.  Meanwhile, the suspects have been transferred to the State Criminal investigation and intelligence Department for investigation and prosecution while the escaped member is being hunted down.

Sequel to the release of its first admission list, the University of Uyo management has approved the 8th of January, 2018, as the date for commencement of academic activities for the new intakes.

In a statement signed by the Registrar of the institution, Aniekanabasi Udofia, All freshmen are requested to report to their respective Faculty Centres with the acceptance fee receipt from Monday, January 08, 2018 for the screening of their original credentials, after which they would be cleared and thereafter pay fees, before registering online.
